It wasn't really obvious where the teleportation pads would take you on levels with several of them, which does make it hard to logically plan accordingly. Maybe putting numbers on them would have helped somewhat. It would have also been nice if the game kept track of your best score on each level. Aside from that, your game was not only really visually stunning and deeply cohesive, but each new mechanic was very clever. Great work overall!

Developer(+1)

The way the review started had me worried that it was going to be all negative and likely haunt me for way too long but the end put my mind to ease :P

The teleportation pads would originally would have lines (like translucent wires) to indicate where they go, so that it's clear which they are linked to but you'd still need to figure it out in a level with multiple. Same with buttons and what they hook up into. As for the keeping track of your best score in a level, I'll make sure to add that to the list as it shouldn't be too hard.

We're planning on a small post jam update, would you be interested in being msged when it's out?

Aw jeez, sorry if the opening was a bit too negative- I think that your game is really great already, so I want to give as much feedback as possible to help make it amazing! I'd love to get a message when you drop an update!

Developer

Heya, a polished post jam update has been pushed out for people to play with a WebGL version out aswell.

Submitted(+1)

This is such a clean made puzzle game. There were some points where I tried to roll on a platform and it didn't register. It was still a great game!

Love the aesthetic of this game! Definitely one of the most stylish of the jam, and I like the teleportation pads + face erasure mechanics that help differentiate this from other similar games. Unfortunately the bugs really bring the enjoyment factor down, and the music kept cutting out for some reason. Otherwise great work! Will definitely check back once the game is updated post-jam :)

Developer(+1)

There will be a post jam update to fix the button problem and round off something things that were left on the cutting room floor.

Would you be interested in being msged once it's out?

(The thing about the music cutting out is kind of sad and my fault in a way. Basically we have 4 tracks in the game 3 are public domain, 1 track I made myself. The track I made myself was originally too loud when I first exported it, so I adjusted it, but in doing so, I threw off the volume balance between the other tracks comparatively. This results in my track being extremely quiet, while the others play normally)

yeah man, hmu when it's out :

Yarr, there be a post jam version out. I don't know why I be a pirate.

In all seriousness, the post jam version mostly focuses on bug fixes and polish with a webgl version out.

The game would've been soooo great but sadly I got a bug and couldn't move over the tiles even though I had the right face down. Sometimes it worked by wiggling the dice around or moving a few blocks back and try again - but most times it did not.

Super sad because the game looks nice and I like the mechanic!

Developer

Heya, would you like me to message you once the post jam update is out so you can try it?
(It seems to happen with certain framerates a lot more)

Submitted

Yes, please! I really like the concept!

Developer

Heya, A post jam version of the game has been dropped focusing on polish and bug fixes!

Nice game. I loved the UI. Cool levels. I wish the teleport tiles have some indicators or are in different colors to easily understand their twin. Additionally sometimes the digit-checker-tile is not working properly, even its match is correct.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the bug with the buttons has been noted. Hopefully we're aiming to patch it out in the post jam release.

My style of a puzzle game! Absolutely loved it. Some clever twists show you there is always room for very interesting creative improvement on ideas you think you know how they work ;)

Also really loved the music on this one.

I really like this game! The ui is a nice touch, the puzzles were simple (although I thought at first that the number had to be at the bottom, not the top) and I'm a little impressed that you managed to do 11 full levels lol

Also the whole atmosphere with the retro art, the "yes, I did" and the surreal(?) music was neat

Developer(+1)

I'm really glad you liked it. The "Yes I did" was actually a minor inside joke between me and the designer. The ending of the level was supposed to display a rating system to show how well you did, however due to time cuts I decided that the button for the next level would just say "Yes, I did" since the default art asset our artist provided was "You did it"

Hilarious UI haha and quite nice presentation

Simple concept used well to make several challenging puzzles.

Love the clean style of this game, and of course the concept itself ^^

Most of the feedback i received are telling me that they tried to play it like it is yours, so its fun finding what some expect from mine.

Developer(+1)

You know what they say, great minds think alike! <3
I look forward to trying out your game :3

Love this game for its puzzles and nice polish. Good stuff! :)

Hi! I can't seem to get past the title screen-it goes black with the window on the top left when I try to start. This may be due to me running the game on WINE.

I'd love to revisit it if you can build a version for Linux!

Developer

Hi there,
There was an attempt at making the game run on mac and linux, but given the team lacked access to either device it was quite hard to test if the build ran properly. I'm quite sorry about this. I'll probably get to making a WebGL version at some point instead.

Submitted(+1)

I appreciate that you thought to consider us Linux users!

I haven't rated the game as it wouldn't be fair for me to (only Windows was required), but please do ping me after the voting period ends if you release a WebGL or Linux build and I'd be happy to play and provide feedback if you'd like :)

Developer

Of course ^ - ^ I used to be on a mac computer so I've had plenty of experiences where there was a game I wanted to try but had to be told 'Nope'

I wouldn't particularly feel happy about receiving a rating from someone who hasn't actually played the game. (I think my teammates would feel the same)

Developer

Hey, so I saw someone else using linux used DXVK. You could try using that perhaps.

Developer

Heya, now that the jam is over I made a WebGL with you in mind :P
Hope you enjoy!

Really fun game reminiscent of Bloxorz! Very stylish in terms of audio and graphics, and the puzzles built upon each other to bring a greater whole! Finding the Flatwoods Monster easter egg was also really fun and challenging!

Submitted(+1)

Super stylish, satisfying and responsive movement and controls, clean execution of a fitting idea and great level design to keep the player hooked. I really thinks it delivers as much as one could want from a Jam game, and then some - I really enjoyed it!

An addition if you continue developing that I'd like would be a rotatable die you can mess around with in the corner as sometimes I forget what number is next to what when planning my moves. But that may be just because I don't use dice much!

Submitted(+1)

the cover reminded me of the farcry 3 blood dragon. well made game.

Submitted(+1)

Too bad we cannot use the X on the windows to close them, it would have been quite clever :) Also, “Congratulations” popup is really small on my screen.

Nevertheless, I love the art style and got hooked by the puzzles!

Developer(+1)

I has come fineckey UI issues while making the game. Unity for some reason decided that world space canvases no longer took any inputs. >_> which meant that everything had to be done in a mode I don't have as much experience in. I would have loved for the X to be the actual cancel button, but it was too risky to try it with the chance that it might not render or interact properly.

Submitted(+1)

I loved it. amazing puzzle game.

Submitted(+1)

The controls were nice, and I loved the overall theme and presentation. Good Job!

Submitted(+1)

The game for some reason felt really mesmerizing. i really liked the simple art.
