Cool game, I just wish there was a bit more.
Great spooky atmosphere with the lighting.
I like the atmosphere, and the dice rolling changing your weapon is a cool mechanic. Fun trying to survive!
The concept is good, but the cooldown for rolling is really long and enemies take way too many bullets. However, visuals look good with the lighting system.
Found the long cooldown to be necessary, as a shorter cooldown would've eliminated nearly all possible tension
Simple idea, but well executed!
A common theme, with a good execution. After a while you can get a nice timing going, but there doesn’t seem to be a difficulty curve ? Welp anyway it’s nice, good job !
I don’t know what pacing you were aiming for, but having to wait to be able to reload just running in circles becomes tiresome after a while, the random weapons according to the roll is a nice touch tho.
Kinda boring, but atleast it works, kinda
That's the biggest compliment I've gotten from you
Nice Game, Better Than Mine.
Love the feeling of dread when I'm waiting for the dice to recharge while being surrounded by zombies. Neat game!
Was going for that, thank you!
Really cool game idea, would love to see some of the small tweaks like auto-roll if you’re empty on mag and maybe some balancing, deffo a blast to play though.
Reload of chance, nice mechanic to keep the panic going.
Kiitos!
Having to roll a die after you run out of ammo is a really awesome idea i love it!
great game
Nice entry :)
Nothing quite like the click sound of an empty mag to get me in panic mode haha.
Thanks!
incredibely polished well done
Nicely done, reminds me of the old Left 4k Dead jam game that Notch made before Minecraft. There are some improvements that could be made to make it a little more involved, because once you figure out how the zombies work, its easy to just make a circle in the main room to corral them around (there's no benefit to exploring at all - in fact, it will likely cause you to get trapped by a horde).
Sound and lighting design are really well done here. You defiantly created a nice "tone" here, which I think is the really important part. I'm sure you had a lot of nice ideas that you didn't have time to implement, as is how these jams go.
Also, super impressed you got a leaderboard working on a game jam game!
Well done!
Thank you for the feedback! There were plans for medkits to spawn in the dead ends, but decided to prioritise everything else. When I had everything else done, I was too burned out to add yet another game mechanic lol
The premise is interesting and the game is pretty polished, but it needs some changes to make it more fun.
I would love if the rolling of the dice felt more important. Right now it feels like a very slow reload witch isn't that rewarding. Maybe if you could get some powerups from a dice that make you faster, kill zombies you touch, make your bullets explode etc. witch would make killing the zombies satisfying. I get you were going for a slow creepy atmosphere but the most efficient tactic seems to be walking in a circle and shooting behind you so a faster arcady style might make it more interesting .
Another way you could've gone is making the zombies rare but more powerful and that you are forced to roam around in the darkness to find something important (eg. the dice for more a new weapon, health or sth like that)
I'm just writing down the ideas I have to hopefully help you if you decide to further develop the game, I hope you don't mind :D
Thanks for the feedback! I did play with the idea of getting like different types of ammo from rolling another die, but found that to be too much work for a game jam of this length. I don't have plans to develop the game further as I have a million game ideas just waiting for me in my head.
I really like the way the theme is presented in your game! The only gripe I had was the fact that the "down" moments between dice rolls can be quite tedious when you have no ammo.
Thanks for your feedback! I noticed that if I lowered the waiting time to say 10 seconds, there wouldn't be enough down time and would kill the tension. I do get your point!
