I love the clear instructions and the helpful UI blurbs--they make it easy to immediately understand what to do. I also like the concept, and it was very well executed! And I like the dice fudging system. Being able to swap the dice around in addition to rerolling them is cool, too. Great job!

How does your game fit the theme?
The game relies heavily on tabletop role playing game mechanics, which feature dice proeminently. The whole gimmick of the game revolves around toying with these dice to give you better odds of success.

Had a great time playing this, awesome work! If I had to have a complaint it might be that I was not sure what it meant for a weapon to be effective against an enemy and subsequently it was difficult to tell whether or not I had read the situation right.
This was a fun idea! I found the gameplay to become a bit repetitive relatively quickly, but I think with some work on the mechanics this could turn into a fun game. Maybe expand the role-playing bit a bit more and add some more depth to the player-dm-relationship or something like that?
Thank you ! For the repetitive side, normally you should not play in the same way against the first monster and the fourth or fifth. For the first monsters, you should try not to use consumable to keep them for the powerful monsters. Moreover the first monsters are easier to hit so just cheating on daggers throws can be efficient. After that it can be more complicated, you have to choose turns to enervate the master of the game, cheat to optimize the consumables and use the appropriate weapons (mass for heavy armor). The times I beat the dragon, I gave the DM a bag of chips just before the dragon :D. We could have added other mechanics of course but we only had 48 hours :D Thank for the feedback !
Oooooo, one of the rare dice rolling game with the "cheat" mechanic! Very clever with how you planned it out! It might be me being bad and not having found out about the best strat, but I just can't really stay alive for long past the 2nd enemy xD
The art and audio are amazing, by the way.
Overall, very impressive game!
Great presentation. I like the action que system, but it was a bit hard to parse. I feel like if I could see what actions the enemy is taking beforehand (or even a list of potential actions), I could make more informed decisions about what attacks I chose. Is there a way to reduce the GM's suspicion?
Hi Thank you for playing ! It's a good idea to be able to list the enemy's attacks before the fight. Thanks for the feedback ! Until now you have to decide your actions according to the armor of the enemy and your situation (daggers hit more easily light armors and mace the heavy armors, you have to try to guess the type of armor like in D&D). Once in the timeline, you can see the attacks of the enemies by passing the mouse over the skulls, so you can cheat on the dice according to the attacks. There are also combos that work well, for example 2 consumables and a longsword, you improve the D12 in D20 and you put a D20 in each consumable slot ;) to reduce the DM suspicion, either you have to enervate him once, or you give him a bag of crisps after beating a monster.
Really enjoyable battle game. I love the art and the DnD inspiration. Perhaps instead of rolling the dice and then going to the fight it could roll and fight in one action.
I normally have a hard time giving a perfect score for presentation if the art and/music assets were not made during the jam but the variety and quality of the artwork is too outstanding. To you/your team member(s) who worked on the art, Great work!
That being said I think there is something I should mention about the gameplay. Which is that I loved it as well, I've played my share of dnd so the mechanics were completely apparent, however I feel the well thought out UI of the Dice screen really communicates everything you need to know. the descriptions on the attacks made what was at first a slightly complex combat screen completely digestible as well.
I could easily see this being made into a full fledged rogue like game that I'd spend money on. My favorite entry so far! Excellent job!
A super well polished game, I liked the cheating mechanic, the artwork is stunning and the little touches of screenshake bring the whole thing together.
My only criticism is the weapons felt a bit similar in effect
Great job!
Wow, this must be one of the best games I've played so far! It looks really polished, has a good tutorial, and has a lot of interesting mechanics; choosing your actions, then cheating before or after the roll in several ways without angering the dungeon master, and choosing your loot after a battle, really cool!
Awesome game!
And we really loved the art!
We also used a Dice swap mechanic in our game and were about to use an "getting angry" mechanic! haha
Glad to see someone actually made it work in a game! :D
The art of this game is truly amazing! And the game soooo well-polished! wow!
Nice job!
I really like it! The aesthetic is playful and the concept of cheating the dungeon master amusing! I wish some of the important values were indicated visually instead of by tooltips, but overall very well done :)!
PS: If you tick the Windows logo under your upload in the page's settings, players will be able to download your game through the Itch app ;).
Another game that I wish there was a web build so the player could find it easily and enjoy it! I adore your art style. Everything going on on the screen harmonizes to a great degree. I also liked how you use randomness and manipulate it to try to get the best outcome. One of the best games I have played in this jam so far!
Excellent job!
Amazing work! A blast to play with really fun gameplay and some awesome art and music too!
This game is so fun. Polish, good art and good mechanics.
Congratulation it's awesome !
Amazing art!
and don't worry, dms fudge their rolls too sometimes (;
One of my favorite games of the jam so far! It looks beautiful and plays wonderfully. My only issue is leveling up seems broken, I didn't get any more action points and I think I was supposed to returned to full health but didn't. Other then that an amazing game all around!
