Interesting take on the rolling the dice mechanics. I wish the tile grid would be more obvious for a better understanding of where you will land after jump. Probably color the grass in a kind of chessed green pattern. Overall, great little game!

Short and fun! It's nice how you can block the jumps using obstacles, giving you some control over the chaos. A bit difficult but still fun to have to think on the fly about where im going to land!

I had fun, I laughed a few times while playing as my poor bunny jumped into the water.  Well done!  Grid or a landing indicator would maybe have been useful, but I kind of liked the learning how far each hop goes and the guesswork that came that for the single level :)

Really fun and creative gameplay, and nice art! It was really satisfying to beat it, and I wish there were more levels. I liked how there were multiple paths, too. It might be nice if there were a grid, or if the game told me exactly where I would land, because sometimes it was a bit tough to count.

Great work!

This was a really fun game! I think being able to see the tile you were going to land on, or if that makes the game too easy a grid, would make things a bit more enjoyable. Other then that I don't have any feedback, well done!

I think this game is REALLY cool. I like how there is always a move the player can make, however I found the difficulty to be very hard. Maybe you could experiment with the time to select a move getting shorter and shorter as you play. This might encourage trying to beat the game in as few moves as possible. You'd have to deciede what you want to do but this is a great start, especially for 48 hours, and the art is perfect. I love the style!

The game is really challenging and it requires both luck and reflection to play.  Well, I think this is a good base, but there are too much luck part.  I always jumped to the water and kill myself, and stuck at the barriar cause otherwise I will fall to the water.

Developer

Well.. actually, the dice ain't really that random. The dice never rolls a number that will definitely get you killed. So everytime you felt in the water, there was some place elsewhere you could've went to. Anyhow, thanks for playing.

Submitted

That's a lot better than completely random. But I even didn't realize it when I was playing

The art style is very cool! Enjoyable game idea... Awesome job!

Nice game, loved the idea! Quite difficult in fact, took me around ten attempts to complete the game. I wonder - are all dice rolls always a valid amount of cells to move in out of four directions without landing in water? I've had a lot of situations, where the numbers were convenient for my exact position - if that is a design decision and not just my blind luck, kudos to you! Love the style!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yes they are. You will never get a roll that will definitely get you killed, but you can still die if you don't notice your options fast enough.

Style is very cute, quite challenging game i have to say, having no time to breathe unless you block yourself with a bush or a log to wait for a better roll. Having bunny constantly move makes you think fast and make decisions that decide if you will drown or not, i like it. Pretty good!

Really good idea. The way the world is designed adds a big strategic aspect: I realized you have to plan your route rather carefully, and use obstacles as helping stationary points / anchors!

Also, I agree with Zelveri, both on sound and art.

As a side note: I just wanted to point out that, judging from the description and your comments, there is a series of funny coincidences: we have the same kind of pseudonyms, we started making games at about the same time, we both participate as a challenge, we’re both openly critical and happy about our incomplete results in the description, we both decided not to let the player get into gratuitous trouble (you forbade impossible-jump situations, I forbade suicide in my two last games), we both designed levels in a rush at the end, and… we both cared about grass tiles (you added one such tile, I put three and a random proportion of these blades of grass to get displayed on the map). X)

I guess types of games may have types of creators. ;)

Anyway, that’s a noteworthy entry. As I think originality is paramount, I can only say this is a great proposition. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for your review and giving it such a thorough examination xD. Yeah, I guess so. I'll give your game a try as well.

such a thorough examination

You’re being nice here: rereading myself, I realize I took way more space for the side note rather than the proper review. :o

I'll give your game a try as well.

It’s too late now (I was so busy reviewing!), but you were not forced to reciprocate the testing; I prioritised entries with few votes, with a few exceptions such as… yours. XD
As point of interest on testing behaviour/strategy: I decided on also reviewing some of the games coming from people that tested entries with few votes (as a virtuous circle), and I found you through your comment under Dicey. ;)

Really fun game! Love the artstyle! You really have ti think quick, otherwise you will lose, which makes it really fun! Overall very nice game, good job!

I like the concept! Adding pressure using a timer was a really interesting aspect. I would find myself trying to find a rock or log to take a breath and get myself situated for the next jump.

Great execution and art! Was really fun to last-second prevent myself from falling off. Would appreciate showing a little sprite of a rabbit where he will land to help the player a bit, but other than that I really enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Even though this is an idea thoroughly explored in this jam, this particular implementation comes with a clever twist. The rabbit moves on its own, which transforms the game into a high paced, reaction-based game. The visuals are also very nice. Very good entry. I had fun playing it :). Makes you wanna replay again and again and again when you die

Took  time to figure out i can block myself on trees and rocks, and after that the game feels very cool ! Nice art !

I think having music and sound effects would have enhanced the experience, but in terms of gameplay I liked it a lot! You really have to think fast in order to figure out those hop distances, I sunk a good number of times but managed to reach the carrot eventually! The pixel art, though a bit static, is rather nice too. Bunny is cute.

Developer(+1)

Definitely would have. Time's a b. Thanks for the feedback!

Fantastic game! The idea is clever, and it's done pretty nicely. I adore the game's rhythmic flow. The game's length is also ideal. The most essential thing to add is to make barriers more evident so that it's clear you can run into them. But after I understood it, the game was incredibly enjoyable!

BEST OF LUCK:)

Developer

Thanks for playing. And good feedback! I'm definitely goning to make those barriers bigger.

Great game. Hard but fair. Each game over I felt that there would have been a way to survive if I didn't make a mistake!

Developer(+1)

It's actually programmed to never roll a number that's impossible. I was affraid people might think it's unfair, but really glad it felt fair to you.
