The voice quips really sell this game, its hilarious! The scream at the beginning certainly let's you know you're in for a treat. The failure cinematic too is great, awesome submission!

Thanks for playing and your kind words!

That "cmon son" got me good!

The transition from title to the game got me worrying and I wanted to just turn it off.

The gameplay is very nice and smooth but I had problems with getting the correct color, I understand time restrictions though.

BTW changing between the scenes resets the audio which can be fixed with setting music player as auto load.

Developer

Haha thanks for playing!

All voice clips are first takes, no time for retakes so I'm glad people like them 😁

Aahhh thanks for the audio tip, I knew there was a trick but couldn't remember!

I like the fact that i can play it on mobile !

Thanks for playing!

Yeah when the only required inputs are mouse clicks it's pretty easy to support mobile.

Funny game, I liked the "Come on son" xD I had problems creating the black color and the game almost froze on the dialogue screen, but everything else was fine, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

The dialog screen has some issues indeed, but it never actually broke for me so I left it in the if there's time box... It's still there 😅

The black color is actually a bug which I found but couldn't reproduce consistently... It showed for me sometimes if after you failed and would play again, but no 100% path to error... It has to do with resetting the to complete colors array.

Loved the tone of the game, it was hilarious and fun. Good job! I found a small bug: clicking too much while skipping the last dialogue froze the game a couple times for me.

Thanks for playing!

Yeah the text part is a bit hasted... I had it fully automated, but it would get to slow if you failed and wanted to play again... The click to continue and tween callback sometimes don't play nice.

Had me chuckling right from the outset with the intro text! I love humour in games, makes up for all kinds of dodgy graphics/audio etc. Not that yours were dodgy, I liked the "come on son!" audio!

I don't know if there is a bug or I'm just confused because sometimes I would add the "right" colour and nothing would happen?

I try to make jam games lean towards funny because, atleast in my case, they tend to end up a bit clunky... I have a few hours to spend even in the time frame of GWJ.

Some colors are a bit "fancy"  in that they require an extra card. So you have orange which is red/yellow. But there is also red-orange which requires an extra red. And gold requires red/yellow/yellow. These are not intuitive enough :D I thought of some extra features to assist but time was not on my side.

ah that explains it!

The effects are well done across the board - love the goofy sound effects. You might expand on this idea with runes rather than colors, as those who are color-blind (or have tweaked color settings on their screens) can run into trouble.

Nice game overall and certainly a fun experience! Nice!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Totally agree on making it less dependant on color, runes would be a fitting addition.

Submitted (1 edit)

I love it! But I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it's not somehow taking the combinations well. Is it dependent on order? I keep failing black and I've failed orange.

EDIT: Played some more. The color combinations can come off as unintuitive sometimes. It takes some experimentation. What in the world does YELLOW take?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

Haha yeah the colors can be difficult depending on settings. There are a couple "close" colors... Some require red/yellow/yellow. Order is of no importance so r/y/y and y/r/y are the same.

Black is actually a bug which happens sometimes when after failing some stuff doesn't get reset properly.

Cool game at almost every aspect, but loud screems of man feels creepy

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Sorry for the unsettling screams 😅

Love your splash screen. Cool feature on the Main menu.

Nice short game and the music lends a good feel to the kind of magical vibe.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Nice to hear you notice the menu effect

Submitted

Short, stressfull but quite fun. First try baby!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Haha nice first try 😁

I completed the ritual, and my father only lost his arms and legs! This had almost as much exposition as it had gameplay, but it was fun. The "Come on son" audio clip was funny.

Cute short game. Nice job.

Developer

Haha! Thanks for playing!

I had fun with a voice thingy for the audio clips 😁

It took a bit of trial and error, but manage to create all the colors. For some strange reason the “Play the white card” audio really cracked me up haha.

Nice game, congrats!

Developer

Thanks  for playing!

I had some plans for helping the player and or more tutorial like audio clips. But life took some more time ☺️

I like the colors!

Thanks for playing! I like them as well 😅
