Cool idea!
I think some for of tutorial or some more feed back in the beginning would be of great help.
Confusing but fun to play with and I managed to solve a good few riddles... although I'm not sure how!
Good ambient music, nice feel of the controls in general. Great little puzzle game, just had to finish all rituals.
Wow, very well thought, I loved the riddles, though at some point it was way too hard for me, I think the cards were a little bit hard to read but I'm not sure why.
Great job!
Thanks for playing ! Yeah difficulty ramps up a bit too fast for a jam game I think !
I think the design of the cards is far from perfect, and it's missing feedback and effects to aid the understanding !
Very cool concept. A little too deep for my simple mind (I suck at puzzles) but I recognize a good puzzle game when I see it! lipi summarized my concerns in a previous comment already. Great submission.
Thanks for your feedback !
Don't be too tough on your brain, sometimes while testing I couldn't myself find the anwser ^^
If I extend the game, I'll rise the difficulty slower with maybe a skip level mechanic at a cost
Cool concept. Really nice game, good job! Hope you do expand the game and release more puzzles and cards!
Thanks for playing :) !
I'm still trying to process if there is enought potential for a full release here, we'll see !
you've got a pretty interesting concept here! lots of potential for expanding the rules and making new puzzles.
apart from little bugs like cards sometimes not updating when a neighboring card is placed, I feel its lacking a little clarity. for example, it took me a minute to notice that a card can give and take blood from any side, as the signs made it seen like the snake, for example, could only take blood from the bottom and left, and only give blood from the top and right.
maybe adding a little animation when a card gets and loses its full effect would work really well, too!
that said, very good work! I'd be interested to check it out again if you decided to continue work on it!
Thanks for playing !
Yeah that's good feedback, I feel too that some effects would help visualise the "blood transfer" better and clarify the turorial levels.
Glad you enjoyed it, we'll see if I make an extended/fixed version !
The best 2D graphics i've seen so far at this jam!
Well that's a comment I didn't expect ^^ ! I guess keeping a tight palette makes anything look good ! (My talents with photoshop vector are not great). Thanks, I'm glad you liked it :D
I really enjoyed this game, it's my type of puzzle game! I thought the controls worked perfectly, with these types of selections you can pick two cards at once but that didn't happen to me here.
the puzzles are really well thought out, the audio background went perfectly with the game, I enjoyed the transitions.
I got to one level and it might be me being stupid, but it's the 3 bones, 3 triangles and 3 eyes and i couldn't get past this as I couldn't see a 3rd triangle card, Sorry if i screwed that up!
I'd actually like to continue playing this, I think you could extend it further.
very original take on the ritual theme.
Thanks for rating and playing !
I answer here too, in case someone is stuck.
A card can produce twice as much symbols if you provide twice as much blood as needed ! This is not very well explained in lvl 3 ! Hope you can finish what is the last lvl !
Glad you enjoyed it !
Argh I had no idea! Thank you! That's an awesome idea though, not sure if you're allowed to edit submission descriptions once posted?
It's explained succintly on the game page with a screenshot ! On playtest this was the mechanic that was the most often forgotten. If I had more time I would put some effects to show it.
Argh! Damn I don't know how I missed that! Sorry I understand that's frustrating.
No reason to be sorry ! thx for your precious feedback :) Tell me if you succeed the last lvl now ;)
I'll 100% come back to it, I'm going through more at the moment, but yours is my fave so far. I'll give a follow to keep up todate on your games.
Great game! I like how you implemented the theme as a puzzle card it worked well! Also, how it made my brain turn some gears :D
Awesome a card puzzle! Great difficulty ramp to intruduce new stuff. Looks great, im just to bad at puzzles
Makes my brain hurt in a good way. Great puzzles!
Thanks, I'm glad I made your neurons fire !
It's a very good puzzle game. Except for the few bugs, it didn't feel like a jam game.
That's very nice, thanks for playing ! Yeah the drag and drop needed some polish
Very nice job, I love this game. The puzzles are extremely difficult, in a good way. I had to use my brain a lot, which is very good for a puzzle game for a game jam. The music and art really add to the atmosphere to make for a very good experience. There were a couple glitches with picking up multiple cards and the cards not registering properly, but other than that, extremely well made for a game jam. Great job!
Thanks for playing ! Hope it didn't give you too much of a headache :D
Nice overall design to this game! A type of puzzle system I don't see too often, and I like how some of the puzzles are setup. The minimalist sigils on the cards do well to communicate their use, too.
I think I beat level 6 (VI) by exploiting a glitch? I moved my goat down a block to feed the dagger and for a brief moment it still gave blood to the snake card diagonal above it, that was previously it's neighbor. Some weird case like that. There were other little bugs as you mention on the page with the card not registering. Other than that though, still quite playable and enjoyable.
Really good work on this 2nd game jam submission!
Thanks for the review ! A first puzzle game for me, so puzzle design was brand new but experimenting and seeing what sticks was key.
Yeah the drag, drop and register system is a bit janky and I encountered this bug sometimes. But I would have had to rewrite the system to make it work better.
I like it. It's a very beautiful and simple game. The puzzles are hard. The music is quite apt, calming yet eerie. The aesthetics and the black background match the theme of the game well.
Thanks for playing !
very good and original concept for a puzzle game! everything felt really polished and the puzzles were really challenging, which i think is a good thing! a very impressive game for a jam!
Thanks for playing ! To be fair, while playtesting I sometimes couldn't remember the solution myself...
very hard, but is satisfying when you solve one of the puzzles!
Thanks for playing :D
Wow, that's some serious skills for everything in this game! And the concept of feeding the cards with blood (or whatever these red connections mean) and the whole game idea is something really new to me. Great job!
Thanks for playing ! Your comment made me smile a lot :D
It was a first puzzle game for me, I was quite scared of puzzle design. But the concept allowed me to experiment and see what sticks instead of thinking too hard about the puzzle itself.
