I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said, nice art and keep at it! One of your replies mentioned trying 3D, I think it would be a good way to go for the look you've got because the camera fov takes care of all perspective and you don't have do any weird art angles. If you do give that a try, some settings you might want to be aware of:
Hope to see more!
Thank you for the tips! I'll keep them in mind when I experiment with using 3D for my future games. ^^
I don't know if it's a Chrome issue, but I could barely see the room. I moved the box to the button, but I didn't notice any difference. It's a beautiful art, though! :)
It's not just Chrome, I had a similar issue in Opera GX. Once I zoomed out the page enough I could see everything though. My experience was pretty similar to yours though, I assume the button would open the door on the right in future. I agree that the art looks very nice though!
It's true, zooming out worked here too. Strange. '-'
You assume correctly I just wasn't able to implement it in time haha. When I update the game the door will work properly lol.
Thank you too for enjoying the art. ^^
Two other comment mentioned issues as well with seeing things. I wonder why since it shows up fine on my end.
Thanks for the art compliment btw. ^^
The art is cool, and the mechanic of swapping with your reflection may give some interesting puzzles...
Glad the art tickles your fancy! I already got some ideas in mind for the reflection puzzles, just ran out of time to implement all my ideas before submission. ^^
I do like that artwork! I didn't finish my first game jam either, but your concepts and visuals are already better than my first one. Keep it up!
This is my 1st game jam although the first one was not a Godot Wild Jam! Didn't finish the first one either though haha. Hoping to one day learn enough to finish a submission completely one day!
Thank you for the encouragement and compliments! ^^
Its a good start for a game, if expanded upon this concept this could become a great game, the differently colored sides of the player and the differences in the two rooms were pretty good concepts. I was intrigued by the perspective as I don't know how I would make a game in it.
Overall it is small, but a good concept to base a game upon. Don't give up on this Idea!
The perspective was tricky considering this was fully 2D. Since there's a bit of tilt to the room, the reflection would often misalign itself. I did want to make a 2.5D perspective using 3D but I don't have enough knowledge about the 3D side of Godot yet.
I'm considering on finishing the other room ideas I had during the start of the jam. Thank you for the encouragement! ^^
Were you working from mac? Probably due to the difference of resoultion it doesn't properly open on my regular full-hd screen - as if it is scaled for the double.
On MacBook it was working!
I liked the art, and how you made 2 different sides of hear different colors - nice idea for reflection-game :)
I was working on a Windows Surface. Wonder what messed up the resolution. Interesting to know that the resolution was fine on a MacBook though. Something to look into post jam that's for sure. 🤔
I'm glad the colors were interesting to look at. ^^
I can see that you ran out of time, but I like what I saw nonetheless! The concept is great, and I can think of some great puzzles that can come out of this mechanic. Plus the art was really nice, good work
Thank you! I had 3 room ideas but as you can see, I ran out of time to finish those other rooms. Maybe I'll finish them after voting's over. :)
I like your artwork - but I was not able to get out the first room. Should something happen when the box goes on the switch?
I was gonna at least get a textbox to pop up and say that you've solved the puzzle but I ran out of time haha.
I'm glad you enjoyed the art at least. :)
