No, no, it's not really a mechanic, it happens between two phases
"You have morphed", "You have learned to [X]"
I found this interesting grass path lol, I wonder what was this supposed to mean
Anyways, congrats on your first submission! I agree with Rakudajin, navigation was little bit hard but I got it eventually. I hated that character that took away 6 kindness points at the end haha, I made sure to avoid it at all cost. But yeah this was cool!
Good job on your first GWJ Submission. I like how theme is implemented here but I would talk about some stuff I would've added: First of all, at the text-based part, at the start, some CRT/Computer sound and CRT Shader would've been nice. You can find those on Godot Shaders and they aren't hard to implement. Also for sound, some sound when letters show up would've been nice.
Again, good job on the first submission
As Dominic said it really reminds me of those 2D flash games you could find on those flash websites (style wise).
I had little bit of frustration on climbing part because I couldn't get it at first so when I would die I had to do the whole parkour again lol. Also there's a bug on web export where music doesn't loop, but I think it's a Godot bug not your fault, two other games also had the same problem.
Also I wish Camera transition from one section to another was faster, going from one line to another made camera move left-right slowly (at the start on the slope) and I felt little bit of motion sickness.
But, no worries, it's awesome
Well done for the first jam!
WASD support was only in some rare cases if someone has a 60% keyboard layout without arrows or something. Tutorial was last addition before we submitted, I meant to write "Use ARROWS to move" but my brain accidentally wrote "Use WASD to move" because we were under the tension lol, so actual setup should be left hand on Z/X/C and right hand on arrows.
Also yeah, working with team can be fun! Thank you so much for the feedback.
Good game and it's pretty fun but maybe I'm not used to these physics. For example Sevadusk recently wrote about jump key feeling unresponsive but I think it's because game needs jump buffer where you can "preorder" a jump slightly above the floor, even if you didn't even fully touch the ground.
But music, art and atmosphere is pretty cool, so your graphics are spot on. Good job to everyone on the team
Hi! This is super cool lol, but I think with more balancing it could've been even better.
Question tho, where's the music? Did I accidentally turn it off, or is there no BGM? Some music could've been nice lol.
Graphics were super cool tho, I loved that overlay and the devil guy.
Good job to all of you!
Looking at the Noskire's comment, are you the person who sadly deleted their game by the accident, I think I saw your message on Discord I felt so bad :(
But I'm glad you got it bad. Anyways, game is super cool, at first I was little bit confused on exactly what to do but I'm just slow lol, I did get it eventually. The game having direct theme of morphing fits the theme perfectly. Audio and graphics were cool too, but they could have more work.
But other than that game is super cool, good job to both of you!
Super fun concept lol, I like how it's a game show and one thing that I wanted to implement but had no resources or time is progressing or more dynamic music, like how music speeds up and feels more tense every time.
As Noskire said a mold/shape of the hole would've been nice, or something where you can hold right click to have first-person-like zoom.
Controls are also little bit uncanny, for some reason it's hard to pick up some limbs, but I guess controls being hard is part of the challenge.
Overall it's a nicely polished game for 9 days!
Well this is cool, i loved the art, music was cool, nice atmosphere (i liked the water thingy) and background (shader?) at the start, but as other mentioned some characters are very slippery, and for example, when you're a bear and you're climbing "stairs" you may accidentally hit into the wall and it would knockback you from it which was kinda annoying. So yeah that slippery thing was pretty unpleasant and being inside water made physics weird haha.
Other than that game is super cool and I wish you luck!
yay, fun and cute style, at first i was confused and it was hard for me to click on the help [?] button because i couldn't aim on it, but I understood the game quickly after. Music was cute and calming, I love how the game has tiny bit of the story (the sequence at the start) and art and design is cute!
Now, I want to talk about some things I did not like or found unpleasant. Even tho I like the movement of the hand, I wish there was some kind of dot that showed my actual cursor because when you hover over the white grid, it would've been a nice update if you ever plan to update the game, the hovered grid would change so little that I had to look very closely to see where did I aim, same for green tiles. Another thing that I have a question is, where is metamorphosis, one of my guesses was that (I guess) these tokens can metamorph into different numbers, but In my opinion there should be then more focus on it, like some more 'grand' effect and sound effect (this game has big potentials for satisfying sound effects too)
but yeah! other than that, this game was pretty sweet and cozy
I’m usually not a fan of roguelikes, but this game completely blew me away! The music was such a vibe. It looping the in background was so good and actually very simple (which means despite looping, it wasn't boring or too repetitive). It really added to the whole atmosphere without being overwhelming, which I really appreciated
The graphics were another thing that I really like, they were very clean, polished, and just super satisfying to look at lol
What really surprised me though is how game is so well balanced and polished feel, especially considering the fact it was made in 9 days, so hats off for pulling this off.
But only problem I have with this game (which might be a me problem) is how at first I couldn't really understand how is game fitting the theme, I only realized once I read the form answer for the Jam and realized that the dice combining is what makes game fits the theme. Sure it absolutely is unique, and game absolutely is awesome but that was only a thing I didn't like.
Other than that, good job!!
[Spoilers]
It's evil and kinda 'harsh' towards the character on purpose, some (?) narrator (your mind?) is telling you you're not good enough and you must be like them to fit in. Even tho you get experience, new abilities, at the end, you're stuck, a dead end, the ability that you've actually needed is to be yourself
Thanks for the Feedback!
