The game is interesting, it mixes 3D and 2D in a really fun way. The colors you used and the effects are beautiful and fit well with the game's theme. I just found the controls and the gravity in the 2D world a bit heavy. Great work!
I like the 2d 3d combo and ambient music, but, as others have noted, had a really hard time with the platformer part because it could be really hard to get a player to land on the next step and if you were too close to the edge or had too much momentum, you would slip right off :( Not to bash your submission. The concept is neat. It just needs polishing.
I really enjoyed the simple graphics of the game and the game itself was very fun to play, i just found the player a bit too slippery and jump was a bit heavy, but once i got used to it, it was much easier. Also once i got to the second room i couldn't figure out how to get out of there i was trying for li ke 10 minutes and then i gave up.
I absolutely loved Dimension Jumper! The way you blended 2D and 3D dimensions is such a unique and creative concept. The challenge of adjusting the box and switching between 2D and 3D to find the exit was really engaging. The minimalistic 2D style combined with the simple 3D visuals worked perfectly together.
This is easily my second most favorite game in this jam! There are a few minor bugs, like the 3D camera movement being a bit too fast and the player feeling a bit slippery, but they don’t take away from the overall experience. The 2D-to-3D transition effect was also really well done. This is by far the most unique entry I’ve played so far. Great job!
By the way, I noticed you haven't added a game poster or screenshots yet. I think that might be affecting the visibility and ratings because this game definitely deserves more attention! Adding a poster and some in-game screenshots would help grab more people's interest. It's such a unique concept, and more people need to check it out!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the 2D/3D concept. I’ll definitely work on improving the camera and movement, and I appreciate the suggestion about adding a poster and screenshots. Thanks for the awesome feedback!
Cool concept with the switch from 2D to 3D and vice versa. The transition was also nicely done.
Controls were a bit slippery, and I often fell off blocks because of that. A bit more friction or more control over the player would be nice. The power-ups were strange. Even more crazy power-ups would be a fun bonus. Graphically, it looked good, and the music fit the puzzle atmosphere.
All in all, a unique concept, fun puzzle game and well made in time available. Keep it going💪!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked the concept and transition! I’ll definitely look into improving the controls and friction! Thanks for the feedback and encouragement! 💪
Very cool concept and very well designed levels with interesting puzzles. Some of the movement was a bit too sensitive for my liking causing me to slide off platforms or accidentally jump off a platform while switching dimensions. Would recommend maybe resetting the player's momentum to 0 when they switch dimension and just overall increasing the friction on the ground. But very well executed overall with nice sound design. Similar concept to my submission Parallels but have to say yours is much more fleshed out
Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate your thoughts on the movement, and I agree that resetting momentum during dimension switches could make things smoother. I’ll definitely work on that and tweak the friction. I’m glad you enjoyed the puzzles! I checked out Parallels, and it's really similar. I really enjoyed it! It's always cool to see how others approach a similar concept.
Absolutely amazing game concept and execution, i love the idea of a puzzle game played in 3d and 2d and the transition between them is beautiful! genuinely admire making a game this nice looking and sounding in just 10 days great work!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the 2D/3D concept and the transition! It was definitely a challenge to get everything done in 10 days, so I really appreciate the kind words. Means a lot!
Very interesting concept! I liked looking at the level in both 2D and 3D. I got stuck on the second level after I dropped the box on top of myself in 2D mode :)
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed the concept! Haha, getting stuck under the box can definitely be tricky—I'll look into making that part smoother. Appreciate the feedback!
Very original idea, with a ton of potential, and pretty clean presentation. The problem is, I think that ten days is simply not enough time to implement that ambitious of an idea, and the game gets bogged down with bugs.
For example- when returning from 2d world, half the time I end up without the floor under me, making me fall. I discovered that stopping for a second before touching a blue block helps, but that might be just my impression. A purple block also managed to get stuck halfway, next to a glass wall.
I'd gladly play this game after it's a bit more stable, though!
Thank you so much for the informative feedback! I'm excited to polish the game further based on your thoughts, and I'll definitely let you know when the finished version is ready. I hope you'll enjoy it even more once it's complete!
Wait, this was your first jam game?
Yes
In that case- NICE! Next time, try to leave some time for gameplay polish and bugfixing (with an ambitious idea such as this, that might as well be half the jam time). Or take part in a long jam. Metroidvania month takes a month, and so does Boss Rush Jam (I'll probably take part in that one)!
Thank you for the advice! I'm a bit nervous about longer jams because I worry I might not be able to accomplish enough to compete with others. That said, I definitely want to give it a try one day. I believe I could have fixed most of the bugs if I had more time, but I've been really busy lately and just haven't had much free time.
