How does your game fit the theme?
In Strange Surge, the squirrel gains strange power-ups by eating acorns and berries, which allow it to change size—growing larger or shrinking smaller. These unusual abilities are key to solving puzzles and navigating the levels. The power-ups are essential for overcoming obstacles, reaching new areas, and progressing through the game, making them a unique and strange twist on traditional platformer mechanics.

Overall a nice puzzle platformer game. Art is really cute, puzzle are decent good build some more difficult than others which is good!

You did a good job on the theme for sure and nice story for the squirrel.

Thank you for the feedback! Interestingly, I haven’t added a story yet, but it's great to hear the game sparked that impression. I'll definitely be adding a full story in the complete version along with more challenging puzzles!

The art looks great, and i loved the ambiance's sound ! The levels are challenging with in my opinion a good level design ! And you had good ideas for the power ups !

Congrats for your game !

Had a blast playing all the way through. The character is super cute and fun to move around. I found the glide mechanic worked better if you sort of flapped your way through instead of gliding.

Discovering the mechanic on level 6 was very satisfying. Level 8 was unforgiving and might have been much harder than any other part of the game.

I often found myself not being able to see the danger in front of me due to camera position. The mushroom in level 9 is a good example.

Really great game! Nice work. This one really excelled at level design.

Thanks a lot! Happy to hear you enjoyed it and found the glide mechanic fun. I'll definitely look into the camera positioning to improve visibility. Appreciate your thoughts on level 8 and the feedback on level design!

Yeah! It's the first game I played i this jam! It's good to start a jam with a good one :)

I liked the difficulty curve! The latter levels gave me a pause, but only for a minute. I didn't know you can "restart" the glide at first, but apparently could figure it out.

I think you could have went harder with on a theme. Some of the latter levels felt like there was no powerups at all (but the level design was good). I get that it's difficult to make a good level with puzzles in ten days :)

Oh! And the puzzles! For a short game, they really work, and I can imagine seeing them in a bigger game. The last one (with the hedgehog) was everything I want from a puzzle-platformer. It took a bit of thinking to figure out, and some agility to execute, so again- really good!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed the difficulty curve and puzzles, especially the hedgehog one! I appreciate the feedback on the theme and power-ups—I'll keep that in mind for future projects. Your support means a lot, and I'll definitely keep working to improve!
