This was a really cleanly designed puzzle platformer! It had a surprising amount of depth. I really like changing my shape to be able to complete different platforming challenges, such as hooking onto the platform with a block sticking out the side then jumping up (ie. level 15).

A few wrinkles needed to be smoothed out, such as the charging stations being a bit tall and getting the player caught on them. Also the music seemed to be playing from the left wall? So it was only in my left ear and stopped all together when I went too far to the right.

This game was built around 2 really interesting mechanics that worked together really well and had some very well designed levels to bring out the best in the mechanics.

Fun puzzleplatformer well done!

Very nice little game, althou i didn’t manage to beat lvl 10 :(

This was a very fun and puzzling platformer! Changing your shape and utilizing that shape made it fun to jump around the stage. However a few levels were difficult because you had to jump on top of a block in a narrow area, and I had to reset the level frequently when doing it. I'm also curious if any coyote time was implemented since level 15 was very unforgiving with my bad jump timing (died at least 50+ times). Level 16 was clever, a real head scratcher that one. Overall, brilliant job!

Fantastic game! I had tons of fun playing this. The way you used the "crafting" theme was very clever. Great job!

I like how in theory it's a puzzle game, but in practice it's also a game that requires heck a lot of good timing. I swear, level 14 was really hard.

Thanks! We definitely wanted to blend the concepts of both puzzle & platformer, although certain levels lean one way or the other.
13-16 are definitely a challenge. Calling out @Tacaro (who made level 14) ragequit the first time he tried it on browser hahahaha. We actually discussed briefly having a split between main levels and 'dev levels' for the extra challenge or a slower ramp up but didn't have time to make enough levels.

I guess you can still make it after the jam ends

Love it and the attention to detail. Great progression design. Love how it looks to where it's moving. Great choices in focusing on gameplay, level and on-boarding design and keeping visuals simple but aesthetically pleasing.

I sometimes accidentally skipped the explanation, it'll have been nice to be able to re-access the explanations if i missed it. (for example Baby Yogi)

Thanks! The 'tutorial' dialog was one of the last things we implemented and it was a really tough decision of whether we wanted it to reappear if you restart and not be intrusive.

I was thinking back on it since the levels its used are relatively easy it wouldn't be a big deal to have it show up, or even disable the ability to skip, I think your suggestion is really good too though so maybe we'll throw in a 'Hint' button or something.
Thanks again!

Submitted

I think having it not reappear on restarting was a good call :)

Glad I could help ^^

I said in a previous comment that puzzles aren't really my thing, but I might be starting to come around!

I surprisingly enjoyed this, and many of the levels left me scratching my head. I'll be coming back later to complete the rest. I refuse to be beaten by cubes!

Submitted

P.S. The intro + tutorial was worked very nicely into the game play.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! Im kinda iffy on some puzzle games myself actually (usually ones I either dont understand or seem tedious haha) so we tried to lean towards puzzles where the goal was fairly obvious and the puzzle was instead figuring out how to get there/right order.

Hope you keep at it and let us know when you beat it! :D

Nice intro, and the gameplay was good too.

The cube building mechanic is really unique and works well. The difficulty ramp was also nice. Well done!

I played through all the levels and had a blast solving each puzzle. Great job crafting each level :D

Developer

I see what you did there! Thanks - I'm happy you enjoyed it!

I simply love the game, it's so unique  its such a simply but great idea, really love it. Well Done!

Developer

Thanks a bunch!

Ok, i have a soft spot for puzzlers and plat formers and this game hit a lot of those needs. The block combinations remind me a lot of those small puzzles in Zelda Breath of the Wild which i always found fun only with a scif-fi twist.

Anywho nicely done, :D!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I've not gotten around to playing BoTW yet. but now I want to!

Developer(+1)

Haha didn't even think of that but you are right there are some similarities to the magnet block puzzles there. I need to go back and finish a couple shrines now that I think about it.

Thanks,

Nice puzzle platformer with an innovative shape shifting mechanic. Liked it!

Developer

Thank you! I really like the mechanics you have in your submission, so the fact that you enjoyed ours means a lot!

Submitted(+1)

I really enjoyed this.  You introduced the concepts of the game really well. Love a good puzzle game :)

Developer

Thanks for playing, stumpybean! Glad you enjoyed your time with our game. :)

There's a lot of good stuff in there. Nice intro. Loved how you showed all the different mechanics of the game a little at a time, it made for a very seemless tutorial experience. Some of the levels were so cool, level 6 and 10 were my favorites. Your level design was well thought out and the game mechanics all blended really well together. I enjoyed your game a lot. Thank you!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words. This was our team's first attempt at something like this so I think I speak for all 3 of us when I say we're super happy you enjoyed it! Shout out to @alexanderzahir for being the one who was responsible for the intro and tutorial message stuff. :)

Developer(+1)

Dang I think both your favorites were made by @Tacaro haha!
Glad you liked the intro/tutorials. Once we started getting our mechanics fleshed together we realized certain concepts were not necessarily that obvious so we tried to use those levels to slowly build up and not overwhelm.

Thanks for playing!

Super cool game! The idea is very well executed :). Especially in the level design! You really played with the mechanic :). The game got brutally hard from level 14 :D, but I got through all the levels eventually :). Awesome entry!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing through it! It was our team's first attempt at making a game for something like this so the level design and our few attempts at flattening out the difficulty curve proved to be a bit of a challenge. I personally apologize for the long platforming level with no floor - after seeing a couple friends play through I realized that was a bit too unforgiving (and that I need to make jumping at the edge of a platform a little more consistent).

Submitted

The jumps at the edge in the floorless level were indeed very tight. Maybe a bit of coyote time could fix the issue :). But I really liked the part where you jump on the single blocks. Especially how you had to jump over the yellow generator to not power the cube on the bottom, that was smart :)!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Like Tacaro said we kinda new some of the levels were too hard and were still shuffling them around the last day. One of the things we wished was more time to create levels to have a smoother difficulty curve. I think we also wanted to make sure there were at least a couple of challenging ones to make it seem 'complete'. We had some coyote time but very minimal after we struggled with a couple levels ourselves, I definitely think that's something we may tweak. I think we'll be adding more to the game post jam so definitely let us know what you think. Thanks again!

Submitted(+2)

The magnetic catch of the cube plus the physic motor and the level design make it a great submission :)

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the level design - it was our team's first time attempting to make a game and we were worried the choice to make a level based game would backfire on us.

Really nice puzzle platformer with smooth gameplay!

Thank you!
