Did you work in a team?
Yes we did. I did programming and level design and Connor did the art. Honorable mention to Malone for help with the music
Was the resolution a challenge?
Absolutely. This was only my second jam and I had never dabbled in making something pixel perfect before. Figuring out text was a nightmare and to be honest it still is a dumpster fire at the time of upload but I am very happy with the visuals of the game itself.
What did you learn?
The importance of prefabbing game objects you plan to reuse at their inception.

Overall pretty nice. It's nice how the wall jump kicks you away from the wall a little bit so you have time to adjust your controls. The timing on the snakes feels a little unforgiving though, since they stop the instant you are no longer on them. A little slowdown period would've gone a long way.
Also the watch out sign is evil.
A sweet little game. Controls felt a little sluggish though. As was mentioned Ted, most if not all text could've been left out. Nice job regardless!
Congrats on making a challenging and playable 2D platformer! I was genuinely engaged with it.
I would say you could cut out the text explanations of the game mechanics and just put that on the enclosing webpage.
Some things probably don't need an explanation. Most people will understand that the thing that looks like a fireball is something you shouldn't hit, so no need to make them sit through a text box to get the idea.
neat little game! nice, simplified mechanics, and a great soundtrack to top it off! Good job!
Really challenging, I wish I could have made it the whole way through, but I got stuck on the (second?) horizontal level. I'd love some in-level checkpoints like your previous game
Thanks for playing! And I absolutely agree with your critiques after watching you and few others play.
So, I'm terrible at platformers. So bad at them. This one makes me want to keep playing; I've got my tab open to come back to. The pixel art is fantastic, especially the cute lil character! And the music is so good. Well done.
level design is neat, and the music is also good.
my only problem is player movement is slow.
overall, nice game.
Little nice charming platformer! The main character has a lot of personality and the laid back music tune goes great with the style. I’d suggest give a bit of a randomness to the standing stance cycle of the character… make him blink from time to time, rotate the head… basically break the pattern a bit to make him more organic. The walk cycle could also use some of that great tail movement. Oh and maybe reduce a bit the big E :P Great job!
Great entry, my favorite music in the jam so far
SOOO cute! Loved the little guy and the music.
Such a cute little game! I'm really bad at platformers so I didn't make it super far but I like what I saw! Also, the death sfx is so good hahah
Pretty challenging game, with a nice progression, adding a new thing every level.
Side note: I found wall jumping a bit weird at first, because you have to go towards the wall, which means that you can’t do the typical mario like wall jump, where you jump between two walls by angling away from the wall.
thanks for playing! And yea my brother said the same thing about the wall jumping. I was going more for a hollow knight style wall jump where you are only meant to scale the wall and not do a typical Mario back and forth. Watching others play though I can see that alot of my level design unintentionally implies you want to use the wall to get to a platform and I could see how turning away from the wall and jumping toward the platform and losing your juice could be unsatisfying. Thanks again and I’m off to play minitroid!
The feeling of the game is very good :)
Well done! I'm probably just bad at platformers, but some of the cycles (like synchronizing the rising platform and the rotating fireball) were a little unforgiving, but definitely a good challenge! The snake platform was a good mechanic that you explored thoroughly in this game. Nice work!
Fun game! Loved the level design and how each mechanic was introduced! Liked the cheeky sign placement telling you to look out for the fireball as well!
It was a bit difficult to get a hang of the controls at first, but they quickly became familiar.
Really fun platformer. I loved the progression of the mechanics and how they all came together. The controls felt slightly unresponsive at times and the music, while very enjoyable, gets a bit repetitive over time. Still a 5 star game I would say!
I absolutely love the pixel art and the music is super catchy :) The level design is great too, to be honest I am not good at platformers but the level of difficulty was increased at the right pace so I could manage some of the jumps that left me clueless in the first place :) It felt super rewarding and challenging without being too frustrating. Overall you did a great job, I've really enjoyed playing your game, thank you so much for sharing it!
Pretty good, movement feels kinda slow but other than that its good. The way you fall like a brick feels bad nut you get used to it.
I really enjoyed playing. Very good music and SFX. Good difficulty. Well done.
Thanks for playing! Your game was super fun too!
Awesome experience, super polished and complete! I love the fact that the movement is slower than the usual action puzzle platformer, it gave the gameplay a different pacing that was very welcome. Very cool!
