Did you take inspiration of Battle Banzai of Habbo?

It seems like, but with a twist

A really fun game :3 May be if the counter make the sound every 10 or 15 seconds instead of every second, that would be better

I like the classic IO game feel of it, and it’s a lot of fun to play, though like others have said it could use more mechanical variety. The chiptune buzzer is ear grating at best, though, and I had to mute the game to keep playing.

This game was a lot of fun! I could see it being a really good local multiplayer game to play with friends.

Web version ran great for me! There isn't a ton of depth to the game (jam and all that), but it is a very interesting interesting concept that, with some more mechanics, I could see being very fun as local pvp. Nevertheless, it was pretty fun and I enjoyed rampaging around the map.

Nice concept. Could be more fun if we had other mechanics apart from movement (bigger paint area, more blobs, instant color, etc) so you can have more replayability. But for 72h it's a good start

Honestly, I'm not quite sure what to think about this game I don't really think I can give this game a fair score because of a major issue I have with it, it runs horribly on my laptop and when I load it my laptop freezes for a solid 30 seconds this doesn't seem like something that would be so intensive I'd recommend opening the monitor in Godot to see if there's anything taking way longer than it should

Developer

This is probably an issue with my scoring routine. I’m going through every one of the 2964 tiles on the tilemap in every call of _process(), which is definitely not performance-friendly.

I would have optimized it more but I was low on time and the game only caused a 5% CPU load on my machine, so I focused on getting the game into a playable state instead.

I mean fair enough but I don't think that's the main issue I think there's something more it might just be a problem with the web build

This idea reminds me splatoon lol. Nice polished effects and I love the pie chart a lot!

Awesome! The mechanics complement the theme well, but the music is a bit out of place. The zooming out at the end is a nice touch. This would be cool in multiplayer.

Submitted(+1)

Not bad. Really cool idea!

I like your concept, fits with the theme of the jam really well too! Great job :)

I want to play with friends and powerups or something:) I thought the basegame play was smooth and intuitive!

I was actually planning on making a game with this exact concept!! Then i decided it'd be too hard to get enough in within the 72 hour time limit. Well done on getting something done that is actually decent! I would have loved to see power-ups that help the player and also hinder the competition. When I was thinking of this conception I was thinking of 'blobs' that run around an arena leaving trails of slime in their colour and you have to run around and shoot them with paint (or something) to turn them your colour.

The concept is really sound I just think it needs more than just turning as much of the ground your colour to work well.

The game is fine. I think it would me more fun if it felt more smooth.Maybe you did it because of the limitation . The art style is also good, unique. This would be fun to play on mobile

I like how in the end the map looks like a world map create by the pattern of paints from different player. The gameplay might need a little more mechanics to get more fun. I reckon that even at this stage, multiplayer can be fun :D

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yes, I agree, this could pass as a multiplayer web game. I’d probably have to increase the map size and make it possible to gain more slimes / increase the circle size somehow.

The game looks gorgeous!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! Maybe you could add some kind of power-ups to increase your number of blobs or their speed?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

That was the plan, but I kind of ran out of time. If I were to continue development, that would be one of the first things I’d attempt to add, though.

Thank you for playing!

Fun game! Has anyone gotten over a 35%?

This game has great potential, but the executive was a bit off. The sound design could use a little more of the player engagement aspect. Although the use of AI was well done overall, it makes the game a little to easy.

Developer

Mmh, I agree. The little sound that is in the game was more of a last-minute thing. I’m not entirely sure what kind of sound design works with this type of game, though, but I’ll experiment if I continue development at some point.

Nice game! It definitely feels like a unique take on the "fill up space with color" mechanic and it's lots of fun to play. I also think the sound design is really effective, especially for how simple it is.
