Description
This is my submission for the OST Composing Jam 2024!
I made the OST in Maschine and it is an Electronic OST set in a type of cyber Dreamcast theming.
I only had 5 days to put this together and would have like a bit more time to work on it but I am happy with the results!
Story!
A girl dies under strange circumstances while logging into her blog on IMW.com. Do to supernatural intervention her soul is now trapped on her blog page! Fear not as her days are fulled with make day to day tasks to up keep her blog and gain new followers! While working on her blog from the other side our protagonist falls in love with another blogger who comments and follows her page. This seems like a dream come true till another supernatural blogger appears trying to win the attention of your crush!!! Thankfully everything works out and our ghostly blogger wins the heart of her crush and they become girlfriends forever.
Song Purposes!
Log off Log on intro: This is the intro cut scene to the game! Our faithful blogger is drinking a brew when she gets zapped and dies. Her soul then is transported into her world... aka. her blog in IMW!
Blog Cleaning: Over-world music! Run around and maintain your blog!
Love at first site: The music when interacting or seeing your crush!
Posting: The music that plays when posting to your blog. Get those followers!
The Rival: The music that plays when your rival shows up trying to win over your crush! How dare they!!!!
Girlfriends: This is the music that plays at the end of the game! Congratulations on your new girlfriend : )

Blog Cleaning - For sure I fell like I am deep in the interweb with this one semi trance like. Very simple but fun!
Love At First Sight - Nice and spacious sounding for sure a first crush with butterflys in the gut sounding!
Posting - Giving me early Y2K PlayStation 2 Tekken 4 Outlet Mall vibes right here, very experimental sounding!
The Rival - I assume this is also a battle/dialogue theme against said rival which for sure fits the vibe.
Girlfriends - Very sweet sounding and very conclusive!

Creative concept, really like it. Liked the whole vibe its well mixed, composition is great too, only at 4 mins there is some chords that feels a little off to me but maybe its the way you intended it. Great job !

The story idea is strange, but I love it! The music fits perfectly for a game like this. The retro sound translates the website concept very well. Well-composed, great sound design, and properly mixed. A great submission in my opinion!
Your OST is a lot of fun! I think my favorite track is Blog Cleaning, it really has that "online" feel with the playful synth "blip" sounds. Very creative use of the theme too, truly a unique game idea!

mmm i love retro tech and cyber aesthetics sooo much. this is such a joy to listen to, especially blog cleaning. i want this to be a real game!!
Really nice use of "dated" ROMpler style sounds, fits the aesthetic of the period well. I feel like some of these tracks could use a breakbeat or a few more rhythmic layers, but there's a solid base established in each track already.
I applaud the use of sound effects in the beginning. I was grinning from ear to ear. Great introduction to the start of your piece. From there all of the tracks did an amazing job keeping up all the excitement. I love the concept of the game as well. Great work!
Bursting with interesting energy. Solid sound of the 80s and 90s that really harkens back to the energy of the early internet. Great representation of your envisioned game.
A great listen front to back! Super chill, a mix of emotion here and there, I can tell you really worked hard on this even in the time crunch. Clear favorite has gotta be that first track - that sound selection is crazy!! Listening to that, I could totally visualize your game, honestly reminded me of the title screen theme from Sonic Mega Collection. Great work!
Love this! It sounds like it would work so well as something like the background ost to a visual novel or something to that effect. Super vibey, relaxing, but still constantly interesting throughout. Great job!
This was so COOL! This has my favorite use of the theme so far and I love that you incorporated it into the music so well with the hi-tech synth melodies!
I also really like the game concept and story you have it adds so much to the music!
I did find that some of the songs got a tad repetitive but they sound really good and would be excellent background music in the game you described.
