Description
My main priority was to make music that closely matched the picture theme by kawaakar._. The game I envisioned was a casual 3D exploration game that takes place underwater - a mix of Spirited Away, Abzu, and Sable.
The story is about a normal girl who suddenly finds herself magically transported to a mystical underwater town. There, she finds that the water spirits who inhabit the town are about to hold their annual fish festival. Trying to find her way back home, she ends up running errands in preparation for the festival-goers, uncovering ancient secrets of the ocean along the way.
Some recurring sounds include: pitched metal percussion, synths, Asian music, minimalism, ambient, and water level music.
1. Dive - Main title theme
2. Seafloor - Loop for underwater town and day exploration
3. Abyss - Loop for caves and night exploration
4. Fish Festival - Loop for the annual fish festival where fish dance around wildly
5. Trinket - Theme when she discovers a magic pearl and later when she receives farewell gifts
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I tried to make music that closely matched the picture theme, using sounds that evoke water and magic/spirituality.

Loved the soundtrack! Spectacularly mixed and produced. My favorite track was "Seafloor". Great work!
Really appeasing! Love "Fish Festival" for the use of marimba rhythm!! "Trinket is a great last track and it ends perfectly the story you told us about!
Dive: I always love the i-bVII-bIII movement for water tracks. So pretty. Full atmosphere.
Seafloor: Serene. Love the progression.
Abyss: Darker tone while still feeling gentle like the rest of the OST.
Fish Festival: Great perc! Love how it builds up.
Trinket: Very gentle end to the OST. Love the chord choices for the resolution.
Great fit to the theme, great work!
The soundscape you’ve created is perfection! Wonderfully mixed and orchestrated. This was an absolute delight to listen to. Huge fan of the underlying pads used throughout the soundtrack!
One of those submissions when you hear first 10 seconds and already know it will be great. Love the underwater vibe, lot of percussions. Great stuff! :)
Love the overall vibe here! I wish I could hear more stretched out versions of most of these. You’ve got the ideas; I just want moar. Underwater vibes are great and super helpful in making the overall identity of the work!
Everything sounds amazing. It all has a great calming vibe. The layering of all the sounds is spectacular, and everything sounds very intricate while still sounding spacious and ambient.
Really nice arrangements and sound design! Think you fit the theme very well, loved your instrumentations and the general pace of each track, really made it feel like I was exploring an ancient underwater civilization!
Great job!
calm, cosy and well put together, love it great work!
Great ambience! Definitely nails that underwater feeling
I'm gonna say it -
- I think you did what I did but better.
A lot of metallic and percussion things happening in this one that I was avoiding in my own submission! They work, here, and that's really neat. Good job making such a different instrumentation work!
Fantastic arrangements and orchestration! Absolutely have a knack for layering and complementary scoring. Great use of articulations throughout, too. Really like how you worked in the soft synth into the end Seafloor in particular - I'm a sucker for breaking the mould like that.
Great job with these, would not be surprised to see them vying for the top spots! Best of luck. :)
Yeah like I was saying people are so talented, this is no exception, actually your work is most likely to end up in my top 20! I love the work you’ve done with drawing the picture of the world.
I especially love Fish Festival, going to my loop playlist, followed and can’t wait to see more from you!
Wow I really appreciate that! In some ways I can relate though - this jam is fun, intimidating, inspiring, and everything in between. Thank you!
THIS FITS THE THEME SO WELL!! overall had great storytelling, and i cant get over how well it fit the theme. great job!!
Thanks so much! I really tried hard to fit the picture theme as close as I could with every track. It was such an inspiring image for me personally.
Great boy of work front to back, Seafloor and Abyss made me emotional when certain chords hit. Love it dude!
Beautiful work, the storytelling is absolutely stunning and the composition really fits the name of each track. The "underwater" feeling is omnipresent throughout the OST, giving flashbacks of Super Mario 64 underwater levels. Instruments feel alive and human, dynamic and changing, the arrangement leads somewhere and take you where it wants to go without making you feel like its too much or not enough at any points. Bravo! My favourite submission to this jam so far.
There are some truly great submissions out there in this jam so I really appreciate that!
agh this is gorgeous, the whole soundtrack is so relaxing and your chord changes are delightful. abyss in particular has such rich harmonies, it adds this intensity that is so well-placed in the rest of the soundtrack, it all flows together so well. nice work! <3
really beautiful concept and an enjoyable listen. seamless blend of sounds here!! loved the flute writing and the synths throughout. string writing also amazing - some parts reminded me of the Moonglow Bay OST in the best way. Dive is my favorite track, a super lovely intro. awesome work!!
thanks so much - it means a lot to be compared to my favorite game composer!
I love the Abyss track!
Thanks!
