Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
YES

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarise your game!
Stabbing Over it is a 2D platformer Set in a 3D low poly environment where you will assume the role of a sword named Stabbert in this challenging physics-based game.

Use your mouse to click and drag the handle of stabbert and release to launch yourself. your point will stick into almost any surface, your goal is to reach the summit.

You may rotate yourself with the scroll wheel or arrow keys to give you better angles.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are Stabbert. Stabbert is a sword. A sword is a weapon. You get it.

I had never touched Godot or tried making a 3D game before this. The first 4 days were absolute hell, but then everything clicked and I was having a blast. Thank you for inspiring me to push myself and learn something which I truly enjoy!

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
Nothing specific really. I just hope you have fun playing. It has some really simple controls and I think feels very satisfying when you overcome obstacles.

Thank you for playing my game!

Yup I rage quit, congrats.

This is a really solid rage game. I like the sword flinging mechanic and I think it's really cool that you can rotate the sword while it's in the ground to get a better angle for your shot. I ended up going over to the right side of the island cuz I am dumb and didn't realize that is not where I wanted to go, but I had fun playing the game! Great work!

Developer

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I was a little worried about people doing that, and if I had more time I would have put something over there to help quickly climb back up, sorry about that. I shall still regard you as a legendary weapon who has made the ascent!

Neat game! <3

The art and music were great! And the mechanic itself was quite infuriating for a while until I got the hang of it at the 2 walls. Was quite the bit difficult but the safe areas were kept VERY safe so it was comforting that I wouldn't fall too far behind :]!

There was a point where the music was annoying me but that's just how rage games are xD awesome stuff buddo!

(I did fall off the map on the right later xD and then get teleported to the beginning*)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I really wish I had any ounce of musical talent in my body to make some better music haha. I shall be working on that for next time.!

:] I'm sure you do, best wishes buddo!

Took a while, last ramp was especially punishing, but a very nice experience. The music, sounds fit very well, only criticism is the launch line, sometimes hard to see. Nice work, very satisfying to reach the end :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I cannot tell you how long I spent on the last day trying to make the launch line better. I wanted it to be thicker and change color based on power but nothing I was trying worked so I was left with what you see. By the time it's #1 on steam It'll look better lol.

I'll come back to this game when I have more time to appreciate it. I love the name!

Loved it, here's my crappy time

Developer

Not crappy at all! It took some of my friends 20 min+ to complete their first time, and one was close to 40 minutes! You have a very respectable time indeed! Thank you for playing :)

I love the bendy physics of the sword, this is a super fun take on this kinda game, and so different from what I was making, I love seeing the different interpretations of the genre! I wish I had some kind of rotation control in the air, and an ability to either turn down or mute the music as I was getting some audio fatigue, but honestly this is a great submission, awesome job!!!

Developer

Thank you for playing :) I agree we had very similar styles but vastly different execution. I have to say though, I am so jealous of how your game's environment looks. The ground terrain, and grass and mountains in the background. ugh wish I could have made mine look as good as yours!

Submitted

I like the simple aesthetic of yours a lot actually! But I totally understand the whole...you see a style and you're like 'dang, I want THAT' haha, thank you for the kind words!

Wow, this is so sick, I really enjoyed this gameplay, amazing work bro!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it :)

I'm normally not into these types of games but found myself playing for a solid 15 minutes! Nice work!

Developer

I was trying to make it pretty difficult but easy enough to pick up so someone could easily just enjoy flinging themselves around for a bit. I'm glad you liked it :)

Submitted

Loved it! One more game about stabbing stuff XD

Developer

More stabbing games is always a good thing! thanks for playing

Yeah, its a well executed rage game akin to "getting over it".

I hate it. Launched myself at a cloud only to roll over and tumble all the way down.

It works well, looks alright, and the chunk sound of the sword lodging into something is pretty good.

Good job, don't ever make these kind of games again. ;)

Developer(+1)

Hehe, sounds like you hated it just the right amount! Thanks for playing :)

I’m sure this goes without saying but this is a REALLY faithful Getting Over It clone. I like that it’s nice and chill, all it’s missing is some cheeky monologuing. Excellent work!

Developer(+1)

It isn't shy about its inspiration haha, I seriously debated doing a voice over like that but I couldn't think of things so say. Maybe next time, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Loved it, i was starting to get anxious and  then i ended up falling on the title screen, and haft the tension was released in a chuckle. As you said our games are similar, but is like we went through the "Jump King" way and you to the "Getting over it..." one XD.  Loved the deformation on the sword, i wanted to do something similar in mine, but could not make it work in  time.  Maybe later i will come back and try again (fuck that pinetree).
Congrats!

I literally spent the entire first week solely working on figuring out how to make the sword bend and move how I wanted it to. Turns out it was something called Inverse Kinematics in Godot. (SkeletonIK in 3D). Thank you for playing :)
