- The game is really well made and mechanics definitely has me in a loop, fun mixing game. I can see where you went with the theme but the shadow part felt a bit weak. I was not able to play the tutorial as after pressing continue nothing else popped or happened, you might want to look into it. Over all pretty impressive game! Well done!
- While I found the artistic approach to be very well done, and the music to be nice to listen to while playing. I personally found the characters/customers that were showcased were also quite cool to see. I also enjoyed the creative approach to the controls when it came to having to mix together drinks. I feel that there is more I can learn (since I didn't get a full chance to read the tutorial--accidentally skipped). In regards to the themes, I found the environment used to be quite interesting; as I wanted to see more about these 'mimics' you described for your game, so this made me think of 'secret societies' for shadow. For alchemy, I think the mixing drinks aspect to be a bit simplistic, but the naming convention for them was very well crafted and unique. Overall (even if this is a small nitpick on my end), I'd like to have seen more of a story that may have tied back into things like the reason you have the shop, the kind of world this is, the kind of characters you're dealing with, etc. But even so, I think this experience was fun all the same. Do keep up the good work.

You are the new witching hour bartender at The Paranormal Pour, a tavern in a supernatural world. Various types of customers will come to you and request their favorite drinks. Be warned, mimics have been known to try and sneak in, and we don’t serve mimics at this establishment. You will mix various bottles together to craft the perfect cocktail for each customer. Successfully identify a mimic and you will be greatly rewarded; fail, and there’s no telling what happens.
While mixing, click and drag bottles onto your glass to pour the bottle into the glass. Check the bottle labels to make sure you're getting the flavors right. Beware, some customers are allergic to certain bottles and the labels will guide you. You are allowed 2 flavor pours and 1 optional mixer pour. Tutorial is broken in uploaded version, please avoid (while it doesn't count, there is a link in description to a version with the tutorial fixed).

Phenomenal artwork! Everything has so much personality, even the bottle labels! Satisfying sound design too! Super smooth to play and feels well polished! Great game!
Thank you!! Our artists did an amazing job. Danesykins did our characters and tavern while FlyingMobula did the bottles and labels and other misc. things.
Got pulled in by the excellent art, it's terrific, truly that of a full release, professional game. The game mechanics are simple, satisfying and polished, The music sets a great mood for it all. I kept getting tricked by mimics, oops D:
Thank you for the high praise. :D The crazy characters and monsters were so much fun to design. The other artist on our team @flyingmobula did an amazing job on the bottles and labels. We worked right up until the last moments to get all that artwork completed. *whew* Mimics can be tough. I even miss a few when I play a round or two.
Two artists, I didn't even realize, you guys did a great job matching styles with each other.
This game is so charming! I really enjoyed the little music, character designs, and dialogue. It was all incidental but still gave a lot of charm to the game.
The drinks also looked so delicious haha! It was unclear to me how the shadow theme ties in, unless it is related to the mimic, or I did not make it far enough.
Either way, beautiful art and well don!
Thanks for all of the kind words, we appreciate it! Our artists are Danesykins and FlyingMobula.
The shadow theme ties in two ways. The first and more literal interpretation is in the dark fantasy OSR art style with heavy shadows and thick ink lines. The less literal way is the mimic, a shadowy "hidden in plain sight" kind of creature; deceiving the player and always lurking.
I think you are our main concurrent hahaha We have similar ideas and gameplay Your art level is 100000% higher But our game is fun and have more things to do :D
So incredibly polished! I felt like there was probably depth I was missing, really impressed by the art, the transitions, the vibe! Great Job!
Really appreciated the pouring mechanic I think it differentiates from a lot of the “bartender” games in the jam. That combined with visual cues was really cool. I felt like I wanted to take notes before I went to the bar lol.
Definitely had a pretty repetitive game once, maybe randomization could use a log to pull from and ensure a little more variety.

Thanks for reviewing the game. We are looking forward to making improvements once the judging period ends.
The production quality and art design of this game is through the roof.
I was absolutely blown away by how professional this game was it was a very small scope but executed to perfection.
The art from the characters to the bar and the drinks to the amazing labels were all so beautifully crafted I couldn't spot a thing out of place.
The music was fine, it was magical and felt on-tone for the setting of the game. The SFX of uncorking the drinks and pouring them was perfect though and felt very satisfying.
Speaking on the pouring the little minigame was really cool it kinda reminded me of Gears of War and it's reload function.... which I think might have originated this "sweet spot" kind of mechanic. (I could be wrong though)
And finally needing to pay attention to the race specific brands and the hidden mimics was such a great feature and pulled off really well.
Ecks, we can't thank you enough for reviewing our game. You are exactly right, the Gears of War reload mechanic was the sole inspiration for pouring. We'll probably provide an update after the jam fixing the little bugs, improving scoring, and probably rebalancing things a tiny bit. Thank you!
Cool game, all the labels look great, the visuals are pretty cool. Pretty simple but felt quite good to play. I had like 5/7 mimics in my first playthrough which I felt was bit much haha, though I guess it taught me quite quickly what to watch out for with mimics. Great game, had a lot of fun.
That's crazy luck. The chance for a mimic should be around 1 in 8 lol. Thanks for playing :)
Cought the mimic! 😁
The art is on point! Unique labels, bottles, evnvironmet and characters! It all look sooo good! (all but the pouring slider... why!)
Music and sfx fit the game so well.
Simple and easy to understand gameloop. I think the time limit is also perfect, I did not feel like I need to rush and had a lot of time to read labels nad orders (turns out 26s per drink xD). Ofc if I would like to improve the score I would need to hurry but for two 1st runs I felt like doing ok (1st run failed horribly 😅 -30 in the end but the 2nd almost 300)
Also turning on the colors in the order is a great feature! (Thank you for that😁)
Love the tutorial you have put as a background for the game! (Might steal this idea!)
Awesome job!
Hahaha, congratulations! The pouring slider is, unfortunately, a victim of time so the programmer who implemented it (me) also made the slider lol. We had some disagreement about whether the colors should be on by default or turned on in settings. My opinion was they made things super easy. So if we end up implementing difficulty options, we'll make sure that's part of it. The tutorial in the background was out of necessity. Unfortunately, at 5:30am (30 minutes before deadline) I quickly replaced the font we were using everywhere and ended up turning a 0 to a 1 on some of our UI components and releasing, not realizing I broke the tutorial until it was much too late (RIP). In the description is a link to a build with the tutorial fixed, didn't want to leave anyone hanging if they really needed it. Thanks for playing!
Very well polished game!
Love the art style and consistency of it!
Mixing drinks is very simple but a fun concept, it made me feel like a bartender.
I would love to see more development, probably some progress system where player gain access to more drinks over the game.
All-in-all, a very solid game with high potential!
Thanks!! If we continue developing, we'll probably add a recipe book as a way to slow you down from time to time by asking for a specific drink. We'll also add more characters, more drink variants (still only have 10, but changing them out for other bottles with other effects). I'd probably redo the entire scoring system to be a lot better. So many things we could expand on and improve :)
This is SO fun! The art is amazing and really enjoyed the gameplay loop of making drinks! All the spirits (ha) are so clever too, great work!
Thank you, we really appreciate it!
Incredible artwork! Everything comes together very cohesively.
Love the variety of ingredients to attempt to meet the customer's demands (and appreciate the threshold for failure when combining them).
I'm a fan of this style of gameplay, would love to see how this could be expanded further!
Great submission
Thank you so much!
The art is very well done.
Would have loved to have it shown somewhere what the "person" wants instead of having to remember it, but i guess that is part of the game's difficulty.
The mimic twist is funny to have in there.
The alchemy and shadow theme is well executed in story and art.
Did encounter a bug when pressing exit and then cancel, the game just freezes.
Nice job.
Thank you so much! I'll make sure that bug is fixed when we're allowed to upload again, thanks for reporting it. <3
I gave it a good 3 to 4 rounds, it was pretty fun and charming! Kind of like a Halloween themed papa's pizzaria type game. The art and presentation was fantastic! Props to whoever did all of the art and I loved reading the descriptions for each drink with how unique the visuals were. I liked that you have to pay close attention to the details in the drink description to not serve the wrong thing and it also tested my fantasy creature literacy a bit which I liked. It really rewards you for learning and memorizing each drink. Also i played without the tutorial initially cause i didnt play the updated version but i was still able to get the hang of it pretty easy which is always good. The atmosphere and charm were a big plus for me! I would love to see this expanded on with some more mechanics added to mix things up, no pun intended, and maybe some sort of end goal, but that's just a personal preference. Great job!
I think it's pretty likely we'll continue development to some extent. This felt like a great example of the mechanics we wanted to build for the game, but there's a LOT more we can do to make it better. Thanks for taking the time to review the game, we greatly appreciate it.
Fantastic game with fantastic art direction. I love the mix of fantastical monsters and the medieval-style setting, along with the 21st century graphic design for each drink. The idea of the mimics as banned guests is also very entertaining. Great job team.
Stunning looking game! I love the characters, it took me a minute to realise the asked drinks were for specific drinks hahahaha
This could be turned into a full game!
Now if only I could remember the actual orders people made...
love the art! Hahah! i kept forgetting the order xD and the first thing i did when i saw a vampire was to serve him the do-not-serve HAHAHA
