I really liked the art style and the gameplay! The game was challenging at first, but trying it a few times made me comfortable with the mechanic. This can easily become a great game in the future. Nice entry! ππ»
really liked the 2.5d aesthetics, a bit confusing on some of the different "worlds" and what they do but i was able to figure them out pretty easily, maybe just a bit more info on the statue holding the bell (What i think it does is kills you if you stay in that "world" for too long). i liked that the beginning room you say that 'space' should be used sparingly which made me think about when i should use it but i realised that it didn't really matter and that i had too use space alot more to survive.
Really confusing at first on whats happening and how I'm meant to play. After I got the hang of it, it was genuinely fun to play. A larger style game like this with more areas would be sick.
I don't think you needed to limit the warps, maybe just give a cooldown or make the individual areas harders to survive in for long or something.
The art was of course really cool and the different areas were neat too. Going from static to a super calm sun lit region with a creepy statue that kills you just feels really unnerving.
Overall a really creative entry.
Amazing game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, game mechanic and character design. Definitely one of the best out here!
Wow that is seriously amazing. That was one of the most original takes I've seen so far I loved everything!
Ok so for feedback, The walking part of the game got stale after a while which ended up making everything else start to feel more stale as I found myself paying more attention to the art and everything around me rather than the gameplay.
I think something you could do to spice it up (obviously I understand we only had so much time and this is amazing for the time allotted) would be to add a story and other things going on between just running such as cut scenes, fighting, etc. Obviously only if youre planning on continuing this project but I really loved what you came up with already and I seriously think you could make this into something even more amazing.
I seriously love the warping mechanic and how you cant spam it so you have to actually be careful with how you use it.
And on top of all that the music and art were amazing. I just started getting into art and I'm very envious that you can create such amazing 2d art!
Overall though I really really enjoyed this game and I can't wait to see what you turn this into and all of your future work :D
Loved the ambience and the artwork. Especially the spooky woman in the background.
The game design was super creative! The whole aspect of switching realities like channels and being the main mechanism for solving the problems in the world is fascinating! I could see this prototype being expanded into a full-blown experience, I was intrigued by the world and would have loved to see more of it!
Wow, this prototype is a masterpiece!
I really loved this, so much!
The only thing that wasn't great are the mechanics that I struggled a little to learn, but after that everything looks perfect to me!
Congrats!
Nice one. I liked the graphics.
Really like the art and the way camera moves. Also quite unique idea for the gameplay. Well done.
Great visuals! I love the drawing of the woman in the background.
I love, love, love the art βnot only the illustrations but the 2.D style as a whole. It's really immersive. The channel-hopping mechanic is very unique, not very intuitive but easy enough to figure out through trial and error. Some people don't like that but it's fine by me. :)
This looks very good, only thing is it's a little hard to understand what space does at the start so try to explain it to the player. The art and feel of the game are very smooth which is good. Also, one more thing, disable the player's ability to use the abilities once they are dead, not sure if its a bug or something that is implemented.
Thanks for the feedback! But could you clarify a little about disabling the player's abilities on death? From my testing right now and during development once the death animation starts you cannot use the ability anymore (it only plays the sound effect for when you cannot use your ability). There might be an bug but I cannot replicate it, and I would like to fix it ^^ Thank you again though.
Wow. Everything about this one is great. The sound design is great, the art style is great. the concept is great, you did a great job.
Very cool game. it looked really neat en cool. also the sound design was really good. and the gimmick of hopping between dimensions is really cool. and the idea was wel executed. the game was a bit short, but that's to be expected from a game jeam game.
Great game. Keep it upβ₯
My Game doesn't even compare
Really liked the art direction + sound design. Opera ran it horrible (like what 5 fps?) so I switched to chrome just to try it, it was worth it.
Opera can't run the game? Good to know and thanks for playing ^^ I only tested Chrome and Firefox and both were good enough lol
Nah, forget it. It was my fault, I had "Hardware acceleration off", so all web games were running horrible for me ><
Lol that's fair :D I mean I managed to create some critical errors in the web version already too so you can't never know what's going on with UnityWebGL lol
I thought the mechanic was cool. There was a point, though, where I wasn't sure how it was working 100% I kept dying in one spot, and I thought it was because of a trigger or something, but I tried again and made it to the end. The art was really good, and I was impressed with the animation you managed to do in such a short time :)
Great game! I understand there was probably not enough thime for polishing, however the parts that were polished looked great. Please try and make the mechanics a bit more clear to the player!
Loved the art style here and how you "phase" through different realms. I"m unsure how the mechanics work and I just kept pressing space whenever the chasing guy appears. I would've also liked to see some variation to the level design, but other than that, I really liked how atmospheric the game is and it looks really good too.
Definitely worth a try.
