Sweet concept on splitting platforming from combat to make the player make tradeoffs. I wish the levels were shorter and had more enemies but I still had quite a bit of fun exploring the levels and platforming. Great job!
Thank you! I did find the enemies could have been reworked a bit but for a first go it was decent. Definitely learned a lot :D
Cool concept and can be made into a bigger game. I got an issue tho that sometimes ghost doesn't land on tile especially when falling from a high place. And some balancing between the normal and ghost form cause I didn't bother to switch back to normal form that much. But overall, I like the game :)
I'd be happy if you give a rate and a feedback on my game too if you get the chance :)
Thank you so much! Yes, the player going through tiles was such an annoying bug haha, I need to improve my scripting for sure. Balancing was also a problem but this jam has really taught me a lot, thanks for being part of the experience! I will happily play your game too!
Thanks! This is my first jam and it taught me a lot too. Happy jamming! :)
You too!
There was no clear objective and that really killed it for me :(
Sorry to hear that :( , I should have specified that you have to get all 50 coins in the levels as fast as possible. Definitely know for next time though!
Ok. Maybe Ill try the game again now that I know, and I’m glad I could help you!
Feel free to, I hope it makes it more enjoyable! :D
Really cool concept pf switching between characters!! There are a few bugs but tbh we all have them xD Only thing I could add is I found myself staying in Ghost mode rather than Non Ghost mode because I could still run faster than the enemies. Still a great game, had fun playing it!!!
Thank you very much! Yeah the ghost mode is over powered right now and sorry for the bugs, couldn't find a way to fix them before the deadline haha. Enjoy the jam!
The idea is really cool, I found the ghost mode super refreshing to regular platformers, though I did spend most of the time in the host mode as there just seemed to be more to offer while playing as the ghost compared to the regular person. The art is simple and adorable, and the music fits perfectly! I enjoyed this game a lot!
Thank you, I am so happy to hear that! I do wish I gave our normal character more to do as the ghost takes over but at least I know for next time to plan out my game a bit more thoroughly haha. Enjoy the jam!
I liked the concept, and it was definitely executed well! However, I noticed that I didn't actually go out of ghost mode that often, since I was a lot faster than the slimes. Other than that, I liked the game! If you have the time, I hope you'll also be able to play my game!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! For my first game this reception is very inspiring. As for the normal mode, yeah it is very useless in its current state but maybe I will find an use for it in the future. I will definitely check out your game, happy jamming!
Really cool to have different modes, I liked using the mouse mostly too. Music was a good pick.
If you have a few minutes, any feedback on my game would also be much appreciated.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! I will definitely check your game out.
+ Great platformer, lots of fun!
+ Really liked the switch mechanic, but felt like the regular form was a bit redundant
+ Liked the sounds and music
- I think that if you make the user attack with a mouse click, you should also let them aim with the mouse too. Either that or make the attack a key instead.
- Maybe the first level should be a bit smaller so that the user can complete it easily
- I think that a count of how many gold bags are left would be a nice UX addition
Appreciate you checking out my game! Glad you enjoyed. I understand the concerns with the controls being a bit iffy when it comes to shooting and the normal mode being useless, I should have really made it useful for the player to play both modes in different scenarios. A tutorial level would have been great too and the gold bag counter, well that was a big mess up by me haha. I definitely should have remembered to put a counter in. Thanks for the feedback and happy jamming!
I love the animation/art style of this game its very cute. The jumping and movement feels nice and refined. But the gameplay feels lacking, the purpose of the enemies isn't quite clear as I've always jumped over them because the combat felt boring / unnecessary, and since the combat wasn't interesting I almost never switched out of ghost mode because their was never a reason, and the puzzles involving ghost platforms is close to non existent.
How to fix
I would recommend making the gamer more linear as you go room to room fighting enemies, and solving puzzles. Get rid of mana, and just add a small cooldown till you can shoot again( its not fun to wait ). Make enemies more threating, make their attack boxes bigger, and get them to do more damage. Or just make it a instakill. Dying has no penalty so id recommend restarting the previously mentioned linear room system.
The game has protentional and a neat idea you just need to work on your level design.
- Kolocop
Thanks for the feedback! I see where you are coming from with refining the combat and sorts, it is quite useless in its current state. The game was originally meant to be linear but since it was my first game and game jam it took a long time to get a lot of the basics down so I decided to make it more speedrun based. I do like the recommendations you have put in place and if I pursue this further I will be sure to keep them in mind, thanks! Have fun with the rest of the jam!
I extremely enjoyed this and would defiantly play again. Only one thing though: i thought that you could have utilized the switching aspect a bit more like in puzzles and what not and maybe make it a bit more clear where all of the bags are. maybe at like 5 mins there is an arrow that pops up that tells you where to go. Other than that I really liked and the music was great and so was the art:). Keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoyed it, means a lot! As for the improvements I agree the switching needs to be more meaningful and the coins can sometimes be sooo hard to find. Thanks and enjoy the jam! Have you got a game for the jam? If so ill happily play it!
I did have a game but I messed it up I the exporting process:(
Oh damn sorry to hear that man. Definitely do put it on itch if you get it working, ill give it a go!
Ok👌🏻
Super fun! I actually switched between the modes cause I enjoyed killing slimes :) Flinging fire balls was a blast - pun intended. Good luck in the jam!
Haha, thank you so much! I wish I could have implemented that in more as its definitely one of the best aspects. Have fun jamming!
nice game you have made :)
fun , simple and matching the jam's theme ;)
I got stuck at the 49 coin and couldn't find the last >_<
as others said there is not much punishment for using ghost mode for ever.. plenty of room to improve ;)
if you have the time kindly checkout our submition as well , Thanks ;)
Thanks! I know the pain, 49 coins is literally the worst. I wish I added a map or pointer to the last 5 coins or something. I will definitely check out your game, I love playing jam games its such a unique experience! Have fun jamming!
Super fun to play, wasn't too much use for the non-ghost form, but really interesting concept!
Be really cool if you could check out my submission if you get the chance!
Thanks! It is a common complaint haha but im glad you enjoyed. As for your game Ill definitely check it out. I am trying to get through as many games as possible but I want to give each one enough time to shine. Have fun with the jam!
Fun game. Like someone else said, I pretty much stayed in ghost state for the whole game. I didn't even fight the slimes, just avoided them. But I like the time and the scored aspect of it. Art and music were cool. Good job!
Thank you very much! I will definitely need to think of balancing when making my next game. Have fun and enjoy the jam!
Loved it!
The graphics, animation and game play are really good.
I think it can be even better if you will add some kind of a short tutorial (it took me some time to understand why should I be in non-ghost state),
and to the bag-coins count an indicator of how many of then I need to gather. (like XX/50)
Thank you so much! I see what you are getting at, I agree with you a tutorial would help a lot. I think after playing it for a week I just got so used to it that I forgot haha. As for the indicator, thats a good shout I can't believe I did not put that in. It seems like second nature in games these days.
Interesting mechanics and really good music! The controls are a bit complex, maybe because all of the actions are available from the start, not sure.
Nice art too.
Good job!
Thank you for the feedback!
Nice Game!, I liked it a lot, the music was on point with the game, and It was a very fun experience, and pretty hard for me at least, but It's just because I'm a noob.
Nice Swap mechanic, It was smooth!
Thanks! I'm so happy you liked it!
Really cool character and I liked the use of there and back turning into a ghost and back. The fast paced music made me feel like I was intensely searching for something, which is perfect for this game. Great job!
Thank you!
Great!
Thank you!
I got to open with this. the music was on point. It was a great choice for the game and really got me hyped up to collect coins. The idea of switching forms also worked out well and was a good implementation of the theme and leaves room for a lot of cool possible mechanics. Very good job! If you get the chance I would appreciate it if you could checkout my jam submission and give your feedback. Thanks!
Thank you, the music worked as if it was made for it! I checked out your jam just before, so check out my comment there. SPOILER: I really liked how you went about it!
