How does your game represent Mode?
For the theme "Mode", my game is inspired by the band Depeche Mode. Specifically their song "Enjoy the Silence", whose music video depicts one of the band members dressed as a king, wandering the land with a blue folding deck chair.

Ahhh, I couldn't beat it haha! I tried though, I really did which is a testament to how well this game plays. The mechanics all felt right. For a mechanic as finicky as a trampoline bounce, I was surprised to make triple bounces quite accurately.  I imagine it's extremely difficult to get that to feel just right. I know the difficulty is part of the charm for this game but I would've appreciated checkpoints as a jam-friendly feature. I fell down that one vertical gauntlet like 5 times before I called it  :P.  Solidly built game though, amazing work!!

Geez, that was difficult, lol. This was quite a unique platformer, and one of my favorite takes on the theme! I certainly fell more times than I'd like to admit, but I persisted through and felt like by the end, I'd gotten the hang of the mechanics pretty well. The art and level design were also nice.

One thing I thing would have helped the gameplay flow a little smoother would be if there were some kind of visual indicator of where the chair would land after I threw it. That, or perhaps the ability to only erase 1 chair rather than all 4. I suppose part of the point of the game is the challenge, though, so take my suggestions however you will.

Great job! The challenge was rewarding, and I had a lot of fun!

Love that Depeche Mode is your interpretation of the theme haha! I had a lot of fun with the game, the bouncing just feels so good, really nice job. It honestly reminded me of Portal, in the sense that you have to place things around a room to build momentum for jumps. One thing though - the game needs sound to do justice to the great gameplay! Besides that, really nice work!

Very original mechanic and it also worked quite smoothly. One thing for me is that I sometimes didnt feel in control enough and got slightly frustrated but overal a really good job at creating this, congratz:)

I found a ultra nice trick by placecing the chairs at the start of the slope wich will send you in the sky if you keep bouncing it will send you higher and higher. Too bad I'm sucking at the rest ahah.

Really addictive to play. I'm impressed and confused by how it works the air control in this game. Feel something halfway from ghost and goblins and SOTN.

WP!

Interesting idea! But man, I am really bad at this. I had a really hard time imagining what arc a chair was going to send me on. And there was an awfully big price to pay for getting it wrong at the top of a tall room!

Hard but good! It does get frustrating at times but it always makes you want to get back for more. Great entry!

23:30. I think this is likely the greatest Depeche Mode-type game of all time. I had a blast playing, and I'd love to see more work in the future. Everything felt great.

I curse you, and your entire family lineage for having created this game... 5/5 stars in all categories though great job job on this! I could see this being great to speedrun.

Developer

Right back at you with your game.  It was honestly infuriating at times.

I respect you even more now for putting yourself through the same sort of suffering I did...

It's like jump king except you set up jump pads to play the level for you. Kind of cool. Very original.

It's a cool and fun idea, though I felt like it was too hard to execute a bounce, leading to a lot of trial and error with slightly different chair positions.

Also, I learned very early on that you can stack chairs in one spot to get a lot more height than is probably intended.

Really like the graphics and I like the chair mechanic! Agree with others,  I would have really appreciated some sound, but still nice work

Nice idea and well executed. Frustrating at times but thats part of the genre I guess. :)

I like the idea of having to place yourself the things that make you complete the game. It's a very interactive way of moving through the level, you can do it in many ways, so it's not repetitive. I was wondering why it had no music but now that I see that is inpired by that song I kind of... enjoy it, get it?

Anyways, really fun game, you did a good job on this jam :)

I’ve thought about including a lawn chair in a game before, but couldn’t find a way to fit one in as much more than an easter egg. So I gotta say I love the mechanic here. It’s really difficult but satisfying when you get a jump streak going!

Great job! Really unique idea, wonderfully executed. Really enjoyed getting creative with the placement of the folding decks and bouncing around to solve the levels. Good job!
