How does your game represent "Power"?
We represent the theme "Power" through two main ways:

-Act of shaking hands. In our game you show the power of your handshake by out-shaking your opponent. The original idea came from the word "Powerplay" and how people use handshakes to try to express authority over one another.

-Implications of the shake. In GRIP OF POWER, we developed a short story in which you take a journey climbing the social hierarchy by showing your power to different members in our world. As you ascend you gain metaphorical power leading to the ultimate encounter...

This is the kind of humor I dig, things you can only reasonably create for game jams! Nice storyline too, ahah

Developer

Thanks for playing!

This game is so funny. All the mini-games are fun yet a little tough, but fair. Overall I had a great time with it, nice work!

Developer

Thank you!

Weird obscure game about complicated handshakes, cool concept! Mini games are well balanced, although with bugs in places, animation of loss is great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the bugs! we ran out of time to get a final layer of polish on some stuff

This felt like a fever dream and it's all the better for it. Great iteration on warioware-esque gameplay, very esoteric storytelling, minigames are challenging and overall an awesome game!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Wariorware was a big inspiration for us

This is a very funny idea, the voice acting was my favorite. Super cool idea

Developer

Thanks!

I love the absurd artstyle and the small minigames! I could see this idea being expanded in a more narrative-driven game, where how well you shake hands will affect your relationships with other people

Developer

Thanks! We were very happy with the absurd outfits

I am concerned that Mr Whistlestone might also be Jeremy in disguise. I enjoyed the variety of handshakes/minigames, but felt uncomfortable rematching Jeremy in Mr. Whistlestone's living room after I had to retry (why does he have the keys to get in there?). I didn't beat the game but had some good laughs. Well done!

Developer

Maybe we are all Jeremy in the end... Thanks for playing!

A good idea that lacks a deep and interesting narrative. But there are enough absurdly complicated skill checks for fans of genrush in dbd.

The game is original even beyond the gamjam.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Really funny idea. Made it to the archery level, but when I missed all three I didn't lose, just got stuck in the mini-game. I had a really great time playing all the other mini games. The idea and writing is so much fun.

Developer

Unfortunately we discovered that bug shortly after the submission window closed.  Downsides of working down to the deadline. Thanks for playing anyway!

Hilarious premise. The writing is excellent. I love the reveal of the ponytail on the convenience store worker.

That was epic. I'm a fan of microgames like Warioware so I enjoyed playing them as I handshook my way up the social ladder. Combined with the premise, the music and the character design made the game all the more groovy!

Developer(+1)

I LOVED Power Napping! Thanks for playing!

really cool vibe

Such a cool concept love all the game within gameception. Mini games might need a bit of balancing though. Kept getting stuck on the jumping platform one.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I think with more time we would have tried to balance them all a bit better. Jumping platform one is quite tough.

Submitted(+2)

I loved the vibes and all the different minigames. However, I did feel like the game was pretty hard!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Really cool. I like the art a lot and the sound design is really cool. The game is surprisingly hard or maybe I'm just bad but it was a lot of fun. Good work!

Developer

Do not fret you are not bad the minigames are pretty tough. Thanks for the feedback!

This is the first game I've played in the jam that made me laugh out loud. "You're first opponent is... Jeremy"
Although I got stuck on a bug on the third level shooting arrows... Otherwise good fun!

Developer

Sorry to hear that but thank you for playing!

Very entertaining. I loved the different minigames and the surreal vibe. I ended up losing on the platformer section where I overshot my jump. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Jump guy is no joke. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Love this, can sense a lot of regular show influence but also a lot of your own style. I died on the 2nd guy and it reset to the first one, is that supposed to happen?

Developer(+1)

It's meant to take you back to the first boss upon defeat. We had a bug with the backgrounds switching that we didnt get resolved before submission. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+2)

Love the art style, reminds me of brain age games but more fun and less smart (in a good way)

Super fun, reminds me a ton of warioware! The presentation is cool and weird too. Nice work!
