Game's Take on the Theme
The moon "spins" around the planet and you spin the moon to switch weapons.

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
No, we created most art and all sfx, but music is premade, and we used a couple art assets.

If not, please link to any asset packs or resources used here.

Big fan of the main-menu-tutorial

Good job, quite solid game. Melee combat felt a bit too dangerous to execute, but maybe it is just me.

Definitely the most spin-y game I've played! Interesting and fun concept. Controls were smooth but messed with my brain and took a while to get used to. The game also kind of just blanked after the second boss, not sure if that's supposed to happen.

Probably one of the best games I have tried

Very interesting game concept, I like how you could customize the weapons around the moon first to set up a perfect loadout, and then choose which weapons to use in each boss fight. Although the controls do take some time to get used to, the level selection of this game ensures that you can’t proceed to the bosses until you know those controls which was a good idea. In any case, good job on the game!

This game is a herculean test of your multi-tasking skills and I absolutely LOVE it. Everything about it feels so streamlined and cleanly designed, with all the elements working in perfect tandem to accentuate the jam's theme. Beating all these bosses was tough but man was it an absolute blast. Fantastic job!

Very cool idea, the boss attack patterns are challenging, and I liked the combination of various weapons too!

I tried the boss rush mode but it stopped after defeated the second boss. Then I tried the 3rd and 4th boss in the library, and they are pretty tough too!

I think maybe it will be better if player can retry instantly after game over. Well done! :)

Very nice way to apply to the theme, also the art is pretty cool. The controls don't quite feel good to me, but that might be my fault. Good job!

Also, there is a bit of a UX issue in my opinion, since you can start the game without any weapons... how would you beat the boss without weapons?

Developer(+1)

Uhh, I did mean to add that lol. That one slipped through the cracks i guess. First post jam fix imma make, it's on the list now.

The Earth has had it too good for too long! Great execution of the theme! (and our home planet)
Very polished, and I love a creative menu!
The library was a great idea, it let me try all the bosses despite not being very good at the game :)

Highly polished game, nothing felt out of place. I love myself a game with upgrades, although I think the melee weapons are a bit useless because you can't dodge anything at that range. I played it until the last planet, good job!

Wow, this one is really, really cool. I can tell that the skill ceiling for this game is very high, and trying to wrangle your orbit to dodge things is maddeningly fun. Even though I suck, it's pretty clear that it's my fault, not the game. I appreciate all of the responsiveness of the game and UI; you've made a very cohesive and pleasing style. Honestly, full 5/5 on everything.

Controlling is a little hard but a good twist for the theme actually.

dang controlling the ship kindda hard

Developer

Yeah, it takes some getting used to.

What a hidden gem, extremely fun bosses, great weapon choices and really stellar presentation! I think more people should see and try out your game

As is with all games with unique mechanics, the controls take a significant amount of time to learn and get into. It can be off putting how much effort it requires to fully get used to the controls but beyond that, there is great potential in the game.

Presentation, sound and everything is solid. I just wish the player doesn't take insane amount of damage when crashing into the planet (when you're getting used to controls, you may press the wrong control)

Great implementation of theme to really create a unique game.

I had such a great time playing the game! It took me a little while to get used to the controls, but once I did, everything clicked. The theme was implemented so perfectly—it really brought the whole experience together. Well done!

Great game, love the art

you cooked with this ngl

Perfect implementation of the jam's theme! I struggled a bit with the controls, though.

The bosses are cool! I think the control might be a bit demanding to get used to though.

The art direction and aesthetic here are beautifully intact and cohesive! I was also sold on the customization mechanic as soon as I saw the lava lamp's damage. The boss designs were also very fun, they were just challenging enough to let me get used to the controls without being total pushovers.
