How does your game fit the theme?
The monk takes a moment to meditate and be calm between waves. If one is to beat this game they need to be strategic about when they meditate and are calm. If not, they will surely be swept up by a strom of dishes and cutlery.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes

Simple but fun
Nice game! Like the concept a lot. Some of the actions feel a bit weird, like having to hold click to attack, it feels weird not to be able to attack if you just press once. For the fireball too, not sure I understood what was going on: I pressed once, it worked, and then it never worked again. Lastly, pressing P didn't work so I couldn't finish the game.
Overall some nice work there still!
Fun game. Quite difficult. I liked the use of theme with alternating between meditation and fighting. It's pretty funny to have the monk fighting dishes :D
Hee-ho. Interesting idea. Good gameplay
interesting concept, loved to use the special. Cool pixel art
Thanks for playing!
Cool use of the concept! pretty similar to mine as well. Everything was great about the game, the sounds, the enemy AIs, the meditation mechanical choice, everything. Except for one, the tutorial in the menu. It took me a bunch of tries until i figured out that i had to hold the LMB to attack properly instead of spanning it. And i never got to dash... I didn't figure it out but overall Great Game!
Also it would be a bit better if you got an extra meditation before the final boss if you were out of meditations but you only had 7 days.
Thanks for the feedback! I hadn't even thought about restoring one meditation before the boss. Neat idea!
This was a fun challenge! I had to restart a few times to get used to the combat, but I eventually got the hang of it. Overall, well done!
An interesting concept, but it was very hard to actually hit anything. It seems like I have to stand completely still and lead my attack by at least a second, but it was very unpredictable and wouldn't always fire.
Unique overall theme of your game as well as the take on the game jam's theme. The attack mechanics felt a bit odd at first, but after a bit I got used to the recoil of sorts. Well done!
Absolutely loved the unique take on the theme! The pixel art is charming, and I appreciate how meditation serves as the calm before the storm. The gameplay felt challenging yet rewarding. It took me a little while to get used to the attack mechanics, but once I did, it was a lot of fun. Great job overall!
Thanks so much for playing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'll make sure to play yours too when I can.
Love the theme interpretation, who doesn't love some ramen noodles! It was a bit tough initially especially before the fireball unlock but I really like your different enemies (and how they are plates and pots). Maybe the swing being a bit farther would be easier for a noob like me :D Keep on jammin!
Thanks so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll try to get around to playing yours too.
really liked the pixel art assets! the idea of meditating acting as the calm for the theme is pretty creative too. attacking took me a little bit to get used to, but i still found the game fun whilst being a little difficult still! some aspects seemed a bit small on my screen but still a solid project nonetheless!
Thanks so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll try to get around to playing yours too. And about the size, by the time I thought about changing the size of the objects, it was a bit too late to have it work out
Love the concept and music! was hard to get the hang of attacking especially since it was so zoomed out, but nice job!
Glad you enjoyed! I'll try to play yours too when I can. About the size of the objects, once I realized they were too small it was a little late in the project to change it. Hopefully you had fun regardless!
very well executed, I love the music. it capures the fever-dream vibe perfectly
Thanks for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ll make sure to play and rate yours too.
I like the concept and the gameplay was fun and to the point, good job.
thanks for playing! I’ll make sure to play and rate yours later today!
Took me a couple of goes to get the hang of the attack function.
Nice having different attacks (basic and the big mana fireball). Little bit of work to do on the UI to that.
I totally need more meditates :P. Give me an easy mode please! :D
Well done on crafting this in the week. It's a fun game to play with a nice take on the time, well done!
Thanks for playing! Sorry about the difficulty. I was our only play tester and I like my games a bit harder. What wave did you get to? Also I’ll make sure to test and rate yours later today
The attack unfortunately only seemed to work sometimes, so maybe add some UI for that if there's a cooldown, but otherwise, that was a pretty solid game! Having meditation act as your restoration system between waves is a neat idea too!
Thanks for playing! The attack is slightly slower than the enemies move so it is possible to miss. Sorry if that was frustrating! I'm glad that you enjoyed the meditation!
Great game! The combat was quite fun and the theme was implemented well. The only thing was some game elements like the character were hard to see (but that may be my bad eyes haha) Well done on the submission and best of luck
Once I realized that the art was too small, it was a little late to go change it. Thanks for playing!
"Time to Meditate": me after this Jam ahahah Really well done, could use some polishing and some more artwork but it already feels like a fun hellish experience :D Loved it!
Wanted to add I also loved the attack SFX *-*
Thanks a bunch for playing! Glad you enjoyed it
I love how the theme of calm before the storm is applied with the meditation in between waves.
Thanks! It adds an additional element to the top down shooter genre that we're proud of.
