Alright I was blown away by this one really cool

At first I thought, ok I'm just making some sandwiches, I named my sandwiches vulgar words and had fun making one with everything on it and got an ick but also got some nice sandwich prompts and I thought oh that's cute.

I'm lazy as heck and never read description pages and this game taught me I definitely should because I was about to exit out when I thought...hmm maybe I'll try clicking the Lunch Time button and suddenly there s a whole nother game there! I couldn't remember any of my sandwich names so I booted the game back up and made some obvious BLT with Mayo and "single bacons" It was a lot of fun

1. uses theme well, preparing sandwich ideas then going out and making and delivering those sandwiches is a unique spin on this theme that I really enjoyed

2. The music is bopping and fits the atmosphere well. Few games have voice acting and the humor in this voice acting was spot on

3. graphics could sue some work, the sandwich parts looked good but the driving section was jank and pixelly

4. Serving the sandwich and tossing it is fun but can also be frustrating, a  gameplay mechanic to make sure the player parks there car correctly, this takes additional time for the player to line up the correct shot.  On one hand I like this because it makes sure the player is focusing on driving correctly and also focusing on sandwich making, another part of me dislikes it because when I miss it's frustrating lol. Also the driving controls are a little janky

5. Game is balanced so complicated sandwiches get more points, very cool and thoughtful

6. Naming sandwiches and then having them pop up as guiding arrows on the screen is a great idea

This is another jam that highlights what jamming is all about, you get to play cool and unique concepts like this

Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! It's much appreciated. Feedback like this will help as we build out the next version of our game.

Cheers :)

Really fun game ! i love the fact that you can make your own sandwiches and give them actual names. the little baguette indicators were perfect haha. Well done !

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed making your own sandwiches, that was a must-have mechanic in our game, so we are happy to hear people are enjoying it :)

Submitted(+1)

The game is very original, had fun making sandwiches! I also liked the art. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Loved it, I also run a food truck so hit home!

Developer(+1)

Woah!! No way! What kind of food do you make? In the back of my mind I've wanted to open a food truck ever since I watched the movie Chef.

Glad you enjoyed our game! I'd be tempted to see how well the Food Chruck technique of drive-by throwing sandwiches at customers would go in real-life haha

(+1)

GTA 2 vibes but food truck. Great!

Submitted(+2)

Game probably needs some polishing, but it can be a great fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing! :)

There are a lot of improvements to do, but the idea is good!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! :)

Neat idea! Would have liked if the recipes were visible in the play mode because I couldn't remember some of them. Like that you have to drive to deliver all of these to people around town. Sweet!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely agree a little menu pop-up would be a good addition.

Cheers :)

this was so much fun! gave me tons of overcooked vibes, and made me realize how much more fun this would be if it was multiplayer (one person driving the truck, one preparing sandwiches, maybe even one accepting orders) *extreme* potential there. the dialogue lines were hilarious, thank you so much for voicing those. also, the fact that you have to have your window facing your customer made it a bit harder, as i had to do a lot of three point turns. there could be a lot of potential in having the ability to throw out of each window, but also being able to throw it a lot further. so you could deliver orders without having to go right up to them.

Developer

Thanks for playing, and for saying you see a lot of potential with it :D we plan on continuing to work on it.

Also cheers for appreciating my voice acting hahaha

Interesting game, take a while for me to remember the recipe, the bgm make me feel more rushed I like it, maybe add the recipe info into the game, it takes me a while to found it.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game! Appreciate the feedback. I agree, I think a little menu pop-up would be a good add so players can quickly remind themselves of the recipes :)

Submitted(+2)

I like the premise of the game! I think with a little more player-facing information about sandwich making and better driving controls I think this could be a fun and solid game. I like that the sandwich icons that tell you where there are customers and what they want, but they can get hard to read especially when it gets flipped vertically. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Appreciate the feedback! :) thanks for playing!

fun little game, quite challenging to remember what all I put on my "big ol' club" and in what order so I can wrap it up for the guy chilling on the corner of 2nd and ocean ave. kinda cool that you're sort of punished for being too complex in the first stage, but also I don't see any incentive not to just delete your entire menu except the "single piece of bread not-sandwich" and just chuck bread at people for easy points. then again, that would be fun in its own right. great work!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for playing our game!

If you really wanna rack up some major points, I recommend going for "the works". One of everything on the menu, takes a moment to build by the points are 👌

Submitted(+2)

It's a fun short game. It's way more fun chucking mustard sandwiches at people.
I struggled with driving around and aiming, so I slowed down and aimed it directly at their faces instead.
Anyway, the art is nice, though the map UI could use a bit of work.
Overall, nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing our game!

The image of chucking a mustard sandwich straight into a customer's face is hilarious lol glad you had fun playing!

Very interesting concept with a pretty good execution. I had a lot of fun making the sandwiches while frantically driving around town. Very chaotic in the best way possible. My main gripe is that there's no reference to the sandwich items (at least not that I could find), which made the game feel a little too memorization based for my liking. The delivery system where you chuck the sandwich out the window also felt like it could be worked on. Other than those two things, the audio and the visuals were great. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! We'll definitely fine tune those aspects in the next version of our game :)

Submitted(+2)

Nice game! The visuals are very good and the music goes well with each part. The driving around the city part I thought was fun to play with a partner!

Developer(+2)

Haha! You caught on to one of the things we were most jazzed about, it's has built in couch co-op by design! If you want you can have one person drive and another building sandwiches :)

Submitted(+2)

Very cute game! I liked that I could build my own sandwiches and name them at the beginning!

Developer(+2)

Glad you liked it! When things were getting down to the wire, this was one of the must-have aspects of the game. We thought people would enjoy getting to create their own menus by building new combos and naming their sandwiches :)

Submitted(+1)

The game is fairly interesting! However, there's a few things that make it a bit akward to play, like not being able to directly aim sandwiches to the customer, the music not looping, etc. It's an interesting concept that could use a bit of refining.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!! Yeah, we don't know why the music stopped looping, it loops when we are playing locally :(

Submitted(+2)

Driving through the city while preparing and firing sandwiches at customers? Sign me up! :D

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Heck ya! The hot new way to be served food is to have it chucked at you, it's what the people want! If Food Chruck does well enough we might see a real-life Food Chruck Food Truck some day.

Thanks for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed the concept :D

Submitted(+2)

the driving is a bit difficult but its also very fun! it took me a moment to understand that i had to drive around and the orders come a bit fast with how much i got stuck with the car. otherwise its very good!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing our game, and for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it :)
