Love the game, man! I was a terrible weather man haha! But you are a good game maker, props!

Such an interesting and unique idea! It took me some time to figure out how to play it, but then.. It was rreally fun! Great job!

Submitted(+1)

lol how is this game not rated more?! For me it was awesome and had a lot of fun, i have never seen anything like this before, very well done!

Submitted(+1)

Wow! that is a unique concept, maybe even turn it into something that can be sold to universities for weatherman training!, or other things!

Submitted(+1)

Hahaha, really fun concept and excecution! Great work!

What a fun weatherman simulator! Great work!

Pretty interesting mechanic with the screens and pointing, and trying to position yourself in the right place that got harder as the game went. Nice job on this unqiue game!

What an incredible idea! It was difficult but I loved it! And the costumes made me laugh a lot XD

I can imagine a game where you have to hold a TV channel by jumping from one show to another ^^

Bravo for this entry!

Developer

Thanks. Glad you liked it! That's a fun idea.

Just learnt that Thanksgiving is in october in Canada, interesting. The game feels really complete and fun, I feel like there could have been more play around the obstacles, but it won’t stop me from giving it 5 stars! Because the take on the theme was really unique. Great job!

Developer(+1)

It is! Our turkeys are too cold in November (I kid. No idea why). At one point I had a long Christmas table front-center, but I thought it was too frustrating to get around. Thanks for the feedback!

such a fun game! it was so goofy to me though
the main character was so funny it just made me wanna jam with the music by his walking animation XD
it was such a creative and unique game and it has nice graphics!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. I'm a big fan of goofy games.

Submitted(+1)

This genuinely made me laugh out loud. Reminds me of games like QWOP or Surgeon Simulator in that the joy is in the kind of awkward and goofy movement. Really well done and probably my favorite entry so far.

Developer

Well that just makes me smile. Thanks so much!

This was a really cool idea! I love all the different costumes you wear for the holidays and it was a nice added challenge when there were objects in the way while I was trying to get my hands in the right spots. Having to control myself while looking in the mirrored camera was making my brain work at maximum capacity hahaha. Great job on this, I finished with a score of 102.

Developer

Haha! Thanks!

cosmic brain idea!!! Loved the teleprompter, costumes and the clunky but fun controls, especially that you have to move about a lot and fight with the camera. One small issue maybe would be that the detector area (?? i have no idea how it works lol) of the hand probably remains the same throughout, so if you're too close it's hard to judge.

Developer

Cosmic complement! Thank you so much!

I know what you mean about the detection, especially close up. It's a raycast that goes through a point on the hand, eventually hitting a collider on the target. And since I used different models, the point might be a bit different for each one. Whoops. I noticed it too late. Thanks for raising it.

Submitted(+1)

Ohhh I thought you were somehow analysing the 2d image on the screen itself, this seems much simpler lol

Developer

You got me! I did oversimplify it.

There are 2 raycasts.
- The first goes between the main camera, through the hand, to a render texture (in Unity) that's on placed on a quad mesh (a 2d image).
- The second takes the position where the raycast hit the quad to then do a second raycast from another camera to where the actual background and target are being rendered.

Not quite analyzing an image, but it's another step. At first, I wanted to do a lot more with the green screen that may have needed this approach. Still, it removes the 3d perspective to make it more screen-like.

Hee-ho. Cool idea

Developer

Thanks for playing.

This game is awesome. The idea is creative and the gameplay suits the theme and idea greatly, and it's pretty fun. The tutorial at the start is an amazing inclusion, since it gave me as much time as I needed to learn the controls and procedures. The only complaint I have is that the 'hitboxes' for the hands and the weather symbols are somewhat unclear (like the whole hand doesn't seem to activate the symbols, only the palm or some specific portion of the hand).

Developer(+1)

I did notice that they weren't easy to hit all the time. In hindsight I think it's an easy fix.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm so glad you liked it.

Loved the game, finished with an overall 96, I think im ready to be a weather reporter

Developer(+1)

I think so too. As the rookie, you get the coffee and the rainy days.

Thanks for playing. So happy you liked it!

Finished with a 68 score. The idea is great.
I literally had no idea how to get to the places on top of the map then blew my mind when I found that you could get larger when you moved towards the camera.
I'd like a bit more variety in the screens, as it's mostly pointing at Canada again and again.
Anyway, great work! I enjoyed it!

Developer

Thanks! Always hope for a blown mind :) I had planned to have a bunch of scenes. Ended up doing all the levels on the last day. My favourite would have been on-site in the middle of a storm. Definitely too ambitious.

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this was a well executed game idea. I really like the extra details in the levels and studio equipment. All the extra cameras really do add more possibilities to navigate on set.

Our team had a similar game in mind while brainstorming, but instead of being the weatherman, you would be the storm and decide where to move it and make it rain, snow or sunny. Meanwhile the weatherman would walk around in front of the screen. Eventually chose another cool idea for the game jam.
Really happy to see this theme well worked out. Finished it with a 107 score.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I've never seen a 107. Must be near perfect.  I'd be funny to see the inverse game, though Woodland War was excellent (and so adorable).

Submitted(+1)

Cool funny little game here was funny seeing yourself on air and having to make sure u go to the right places and i disagree with the comment the theme is there to be taken however you take it and a weather man definitely meets storm 100% well done

Developer

Thanks! The idea cracked me up. Glad the humour came across.

Submitted(+1)

What a funny idea, I really enjoyed it! But I am not sure if it fits the theme. That said It is still a great game.

Developer

Thanks!
