I finished my game! Anyone else?

So I finally finished my game, then right after uploading I had a sudden realisation that I absolutely hated it. Oh well, anyone who wants to talk about their finished game can talk about it here if they want.

Submitted

I'm close to finishing it.  Wish I had more time to develop it, but aye a week is a week.   Hardest part was making it fit the theme, which I'm still working on

Submitted

I'm close too!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, I agree. I think the theme was deceptively difficult this jam, hope it turns out alright.

Submitted

I've uploaded mine and I am quite proud of it. I don't think it's as good as it could have been but this is my first game jam and I've only recently started with this new engine so I'm just happy I've managed to get it done in time :)

Submitted

Great! As long as you're proud of the end result, then I guess that's all that matters, also, bold move moving to a different game engine.

Submitted

Thanks! I didn't actually move to a different game engine though XD. I was mostly coding in raw python (apart from learning a bit of unity but I didn't get very far with that) so this is my first big game made in any game engine :)

Submitted

YA boi, uploaded the game and i thought i wouldnt be able to. but i did it yayaayyay. its called orphans of god (

Orphans of God by AgentXMan (itch.io))

in this game you are a normal kid who got kidnapped while going to his house then he got killed after getting kidnapped. then he goes to heaven and he finds 2 kids. those kids bascially died the same way how you died. they then have inherited their powers and even you inherited your powers. you all then take revenge. the Red boi has super speed and thus can run faster. the yellow boi has super jump and thus can jump farther. the player(blue boi) has the ability to shoot thus he can shoot the enemies.

controls:

press the "WASD" keys to move and space bar to jump. to shoot you just hover your mouse on top of the enemy in the level which you are supposed to do.

after the meeting part you can press "R" on your keyboard to swtich to the red boi, "Y" on your keyboard to switch to the yellow boi and "P" to switch to the player (blue boi).

press "L" to restart the level if needed because "R" was taken

hope you like it and thanks!

all feedbacks and suggestions are welcome!

Submitted

Wow! Can't believe you made that in 7 days, great storyline, love the music and the parallax background is really cool! Can't wait to rate this game when we can.

Submitted

thanks a lot for the feedback. I thought I couldn't finish the game but I somehow managed time and here was the game. Glad you liked it. Tell your game as well so I could play it too :D

Submitted

This is my game: All Together Now by CrazyGamingGuy (itch.io)    it's really not that great cause it's my first jam. Sorry if you don't use windows, my unity didn't seem to comply for some reason.

Submitted

Me and a friend worked hard this week on our game and I'm really excited about it - by far my best game yet.

Here's a gameplay video:

Submitted

Woah, that is very impressive, you and your friend must be really talented!

Submitted

Thanks! The art was him and dev was me. I've never worked so hard on a game jam before.

I was able to finish my game on time.

This was also my first game jam and I was afraid I couldn't  finish the game on time so I went for an arcade game . I think it turned out really well and I am also really proud of it. This is it: https://w-m.itch.io/safer-apart

Submitted

Wow, great game, I think the arcade style really helps it a lot, keep up the great work. And for your first game jam, I don't even know how you pulled it off.

Submitted

Thanks! I really wanted that arcade style and it looks like it was a good choice :)

Done! :)

I was hoping to have bit more time but I'm getting jabbed in the morning.

Please see at https://tsuroru.itch.io/yeeties

Submitted

The art looks amazing! You must have put soooo much work into it!

Thank you, I tried to learn frame animation but it didn't went as good as I though ^^'

Submitted

Game finally done! This was my first jam and it was interesting to see what I could come up with in one week.

This has been a great experience and I've learned a lot from doing this. Already looking forward to the next jam!
Now I'm going to sit back, relax and check in other peoples' submissions.

Here's the game for those that would like to try it.
Grandpa and Me by Zlaktarn (itch.io)

Submitted

Wow, that is an amazing game, I really like the mechanics and how it fits the theme. I can't believe it's your first game jam!

Submitted

Thanks! :D

Submitted

Just finished mine! woohoo! :)

Submitted

Wahoo!

Finished mine this evening (UK), first jam and despite life getting in the way of dev time I’m somewhat pleased with the results. Looking at other peoples work so far, I’m very envious that they’ve produced some really polished games. I agree the theme was a tough one, and feature creep was something I struggled with as the project progressed because there were so many options and extras to explore. Solo dev here and first ‘finished’ project so I am proud and look forward to playing through everyone else’s and casting them votes. And congrats to all of you for getting something out there!

Submitted

Completely agree, the jam theme was challenging yet rewarding, this being my first game jam too. Even if your game isn't as polished as you might want, there's always another game jam.

Submitted

Just finished playing the game, it's great! I can see where you could have added some sound effects here and there, but I really enjoyed it! I'll be sure to rate it highly!

Submitted

i finished my game, i didn't have a lot of time to do it though because of school and my family, but at least i got it submitted.

Submitted

My game is also done!

(+1)

Big problem. I live in a different time zone, I late joined, only have 11 hours left and have to go to sleep now so I can't finish it and I would need lots of time to finish it, since I'm a beginner developer and I'm neither good enough nor have done enough programming to have it finished quickly

Fuck ;-;
I'll at least finish it after the game jam somehow, my first game deserves it

Submitted

Yeah, living in a different time zone can be quite annoying, I joined the jam 2 days late after I saw brackey's youtube community post recommended to me. So I guess you might as well finish it after the jam, and maybe even make it better than you thought.

I actually like the game. I'll have to clean up the code a big bit and still add a lot of things and do tweaking and stuff, but I'll definitely finish it

Submitted(+1)

Good for you!

Submitted (1 edit)

Just completed mine too! This is so much nicer than the weekend jams I've done, no stress and plenty of time to submit. Speaking of which, I think I'll post a topic to help others doing an itch.io jam/project for the first time. The 2 hangups I had were 1) you have to return to your game settings and make it public and 2) Make sure to mark the platforms your downloadables are for!

Edit: I Made An Earth Divided

Submitted (1 edit)

I can understand your two problems, I had the same thing, luckily I submitted a bit early so I had time to set it to public without having a heart attack.

Edit: I didn't realise you made that game! I was just about to download it cause it looked so good!

Submitted

Yup, we finished a few hours ago. Me and my 2 friends were doing the game together. I didn't want to code this time, as I'm a UE4 guy and we used Godot this time, so I did the art and music for it. We don't really have a real story, but I wrote some few sentences to set the right mood :P

If someone's interested:

The game is called Space Fleet.

Submitted

That's a great game you made,  all the art is really impressive!

Submitted

Thanks! I'm very proud of my efforts! Didn't do any game jams for over 4 years, so I was a bit rusty, heh.

I just finished my game(Phew!) You can play it here - https://4slan.itch.io/brofist

Submitted

This is a great game, I left a comment, and I think it sums it all up, thank you for making it.

Submitted

I finished it, but I wish I could've had more time, cause all of my levels were made by hand (no I didn't use Pro Builder) which slowed me down a lot, and I had limited time to work on it everyday. I'm hoping I can come back to it soon to finish it completely. Also, well done everyone :)

Submitted

Well done to you too! As long as you enjoyed the experience, that's all that matters.

Submitted

I finished mine, would really appreciate it if you rate my game!

Really cool game, I love the artwork, you must have put lots of time into it! Can't believe this is your first jam!

Submitted

Thanks for your kind comments, yes it was a very busy week.

Hi. How to know if my game is submitted and if so how to get link?

Submitted

I think if you go into the jam's page, then it would have a submit button if you have not submitted yet.

Submitted

Try this game if you are true ape.
