How does you game fit the theme?
The person playing the game is not alone, but has co-workers to forward e-mails to (and thus delegate the work).
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Apart from what was already available in the unity editor, I wrote the code (apart from a ton of stackoverflow/youtube tutorial searching) myself. I also made the music and graphics myself.

I got 153.
This is not bad, but the mails tend to stack themselves and makes it a bit messier.
Also, there are no visual tutorials, so it was really hard the first time.
What kind of visual tutorial would you have expected?
Something like the one from Lose95 by Kultisti.
Unique idea, had fun with this one!
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed.
Nice idea
The spam emails apart from being on top of the other emails have no benefit of removing them making it an easier task to ignore them, I'd add some +2 or something every time you throw it away or add a reason for not just keeping it around.
I'd also love to see this expanded upon by creating an employee shop or something where you can get more in the team, but this also causes you to get more emails, and maybe somehow get more time. Could be super addicting and make for long gameplays trying to strategize.
I think this has a lot of potential in being a really good addictive game, given some art audio, and extra polish.
Good job!
Thanks for the feedback.
Post-jam I'll probably introduce limited e-mail spawning space. This should solve e-mail spawning and simultaneously provide an incentive to get rid of spam mail.
The employee shop is already in my ideas list and the foundations of that mechanic (workers with different qualifications to solve different e-mail types) are already in place (though not visible yet).
Sounds great!
looking forward to playing a completed version when its out then :)
Nice game .. I found it really addictive .. keep up the good work!
also if you can try my game it will make my day
Thank you for the feedback.
The core gameplay is fun, especially if one has lots of emails unforwarded it could get frantic quickly. More types of emails could be added, for example one that requires multiple people to work on it.
A quality-of-life feature that could be added is the employees' progress bar so you could prepare to forward an email to them in advance.
There is a minor bug where an email would be generated on top of an existing one, so when selecting it there is a chance that the other one is selected instead.
With some work on the graphics and audio, this could be a very decent game. Keep it up.
Thank you for the feedback.
I actually have thought about (and already implemented) e-mail types and worker qualifications so if you give a technical e-mail to the marketing department it will take longer to complete. For this playable demo I have given every worker the same qualifications (all e-mail types except spam).
The e-mail with multiple people is an interesting idea that I have put on my post-jam To-do list.
Post-jam I'll also probably introduce limited e-mail spawning space. This should solve e-mail spawning and simultaneously provide an incentive to get rid of spam mail.
The main system for the progress bar is also already kind of there, I simply have to learn how animations work in Unity and then I'll have to code that the progress bar fills according to the elapsed time.
This made me feel stressed. It was a neat idea but I think the empty space in the middle could be reduced.
Thanks for the suggestion. Perhaps I'll add difficulty settings or something in the future.
ahahaha this game totally feels like real life <3 i like the music you picked too! i did have some trouble with the letters being layerd on top of each other, but given the deadline that's totally understandable :) enjoyed!!
It was kind of intended that it feels like real-life.
I think I'll add a maximum e-mails in inbox limit, so they don't stack.
I noticed that emails would stack up, i.e. + covered by ++, covered by Spam, and the order in which you could access them seemed somewhat random.
That aside I found it reminiscent to coming back to work after a weekend and finding that everything is broken and you need to put out a thousand fires lol. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. I will try to fix the stacking post-jam once the voting period is over.
I honestly didn't like it all that much. The hitboxes for your team felt way to small and the same thing for the trash can. Also felt like there was to much empty space between the team and your inbox. I do feel like with more work it could be a great mobile game or something like that.
Thanks for the feedback.
I will add bigger hitboxes and try to reduce the space between team and inbox for the post-jam version.
Really like the unique take on the theme, and a chill game is well welcomed sometimes !
Thank you. Indeed I tried to make something simple and fun at the same time.
Good idea to make a chilled music to a stressfull game. It lets me calm down a bit :D
That game really feels like opening a messenger and all you have to do is answer everyone while everyone writes back very fast.
Here I only have to `delegate`, not to answer. But it´s so simple and gives me such a strong feeling, that is really good, you did a great job with it!
Thank you. I thought that this kind of cute music would fit the otherwise stressful game.
Nice game, it's simple but has a lot of potential, keep it up!
Thank you.
Nice one! perfectly replicates the stress of being an office administrator. I enjoyed the music, too.
Thanks.
Nice game! Immediately understood what to do without instructions.
I like the concept, it'd be interesting to see a more fleshed out version of this game as it'd fit well in the simulator genre
Thanks, I had ideas to make more different types of mail and that you first treat e-mails yourself and then get money to buy coworkers specialized in treating specific kinds of mail more efficiently.
I will look into it once the jam is finished.
Nice idea for the theme. Having a team definitvely fits the theme. Also the game is pretty intuitive and it is clear what to do.
For the gampelay it is not ideal that mails overlap each other. I think an easy solution to get rid of that would be to limit the amount of incoming mails + having fixed spots were they can spawn. In order to keep the randomness you could add an offset to that location. Then you could spawn mails based on the available slots.
Another (maybe more complex) way would be that the player could push around the letters.
The graphics are working and definitvly fine for a jam but of course here is also space to improve. Nice looking graphcis can add a lot to the athmosphere.
Overall a nice game and you did a good job on the music part :-)
Thanks. I am aware of the overlapping of e-mails and will probably fix it post-jam.
I actually disallowed pushing around the letters because at the beginning I wanted to have limited slots for incoming mail in a grid, but I haven't implemented that yet.. Turning that back on would be one click in the prefab settings ;)
I made all graphics myself in GIMP and tried to waste as little time as possible. But I'll definitely keep that in mind for future jams.
Thanks for the compliments on the music. I personally think sound design plays a huge role in the fun factor of the game.
I liked it.
Great!
Sometimes spawn spam not red, but overall it is a playable product! Well done for a game jam! In mobile version would be so much better!
The problem with the mail color is because mail can spawn on top of other mail thus stacking together.
Will probably fix this in the post-jam version... ;)
Also I don't know how to develop for mobile in Unity yet, but I'll surely have a look!
This was fun! I really like the sound design and apart from emails spawning on top of one another occasionally, it is bug-free! I'd like to see a mobile version, could be a hit :)
Thank you. The bug with the envelope stacking is noted. I will probably fix it post-jam once I have a bit of time.
Also I don't know how to develop for mobile in Unity yet, but I'll see what I can do post-jam...
Nice game. Real life simulation of forwarding mails to my co-worker and let them do my job.
Thank you.
