Did you use any third-party assets or skeleton code?
I made everything during the jam

I completed the game in casual mode, could not get past the wave 3-2 in hardcore so far.
What's reassuring me is that I can't manage to assimilate the color change controls more when I play this game or the other game from the jam which also use 3 colors better than when I'm playing our own game. We should have synchronized so we all use the same color code ;) although I'm not sure it would have helped, I think I'll just never be good at that.
The game is fun, controls are good, you've really got plenty of very beautiful bullet patterns in the game and the speeds of the character and bullets feels right, difficulty is right on point.
It's also super cool that you added a colorblind mode.
Nice work, thanks for sharing.
With a fresh mind I beat the game in hardcore. I've started exploring the other games in the series, playing the 4th one right now and it's pretty fun too.
took some serious effort just to get the 3 color associations down let alone clear the thing on expert. the human mind was perhaps not made to handle things like this. Fair but definitely at the peak of the difficulty curve, which in my opinion is a good place to be for a bullet hell jam.
The concept is really great! Instead of shooting your way out, you have to dodge, and the colour mechanic makes it a challenge. Great game!
I really like the concept of switching colors.
Enjoyed the challenge on this one and liked the color changing concept.
Cool game! The color changing mechanic worked very well, and the tutorial was superb.
The music was definitely a low-point though. I think it was extremely harsh – this might be a limitation of the engine though.
Overall, I think the game is really fun as is, but the audio really needs some work.
Ikaruga! Neat!
But also very harsh on the ears and... surprisingly laggy. If it weren't for that, I would play so much more.
you can try one of the downloadable builds if the browser build is laggy.
The audio feels very harsh for some reason. It seems fun once you get the hang of it. I really appreciate the checkpoints. nice job
The game is very good. claustrophobic, as a bullet hell should be, the color change mechanic is very interesting, congrats.
Interesting concept having to change color to aid in avoiding the bullets. Great work!
This is really well done but I’m too smooth brain to be good at it :D
Cool game, unfortunately I'm colorblind so I never switched to the correct color :(
there is a Colorblind Mode that changes the bullets into distinct shapes. press Esc and go to Game Menu to turn it on!
Really cool!
It's quite hard, but in a good way, we're getting used to it over time!
Also, the game's checkpoints make it relatively forgiving, which makes perfect sense for a game jam (and you actually provided hardcore mode in case)!
Well done!
[casual cleared, extra died]
Having a 3-color version of a polarity system is interesting, but in practice quite difficult to manage.
I had more fun with patterns where large patterns were using single colors of bullets (such as rings and lines), and had a lot more frustration with patterns that rapidly alter which color they’re firing mid-pattern. The latter is at its meanest during the extra stage, where lines of multi-colored bullets are used, which when mixed with another pattern that was already happening made reading the pattern at all pretty hellish.
Unfortunately I had to turn down the sound after awhile, as it is very harsh to listen to.
This is a game that turns from interesting to irritating very quickly. The premise of switching between 3 arbitrary colours becomes difficult when there's loads of bullets flying towards you and you've got to remember which bullet belongs to which button. I've had to mute it at 1 point because the crashing hit sound also becomes annoying after a bit of time.
this is so sick!! I love the use of pico 8 for this. The audio is a bit too loud but its very fitting and I love the gameplay mechanic its incredibly fun! It gets soo tough though but I appreciate the generous checkpoint system it makes pushing through a lot more rewarding and encouraging! Overall fantastic job I really like this :)
Oh! There are some levels where the checkpoint feels a bit unfair though where you immediately get hit perhaps starting the player off with some i-frames might help or positioning them in the centre? I could also just be not that good at it haha but I did make decent progress at the time of writing this. but yeah awesome!
It is really interesting to use the concept of Ikaruga. However it can be difficult to concentrate with 3 color and an exponential difficulty curve. The use of the green and yellow is not good for a colorblind player. The Atari vibe is a good part for the visual and the sound.
Holy cow, this was a trip! Really cool central color-changing mechanic, though I am not sure I was ever able to switch to the right colors without thinking. I somehow made it to the end of Casual mode, and even that was quite the challenge!
I played on casual mode and I had a lot of fun with it! The point system is very clever and I like the color mechanic a lot. My feedback is that some of the levels felt like it was too hard not to lose any lives
This game is probably very fun, but i have a skill issue and really suck at it, looks cool though!
