It's a very cool space shooter game :)

I loved the variations in weapons and enemies :)

Submitted

The game is good, but the theme is a little streched there!

Submitted

Very nice looking game, if I would criticize it would be more that the theme is only loosely followed. It plays very well. Overall a good game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! English is not my first language and “Last Stand” is translated for me as “final battle”. We have only one kill of the final boss through all people, who played the game so far. So, the world first kill is also the world only kill. I think, this qualifies as last stand, at least for my understanding of this term.

Pew pew pew pew!

Nice shmup! I didn't beat the level 3, I think i didn't get how to aim missiles at first :) keep up the good work

Amazing game! I wish I could make something like that in 10 days! This is probably the best one I've played so far. You forgot to make the music loop, by the way.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you very much! Well, you can do something like this not in 10, but in 2 or 3 days (I had only one weekend time for this game). GameMaker and raptor are an extremely powerful Duo. I am also a Dev-trainer/teacher. I hold courses about game dev with raptor. See the credits in-game or look here at itch at my game “Towers of Hanoi”

Super fun game! The leader board is a really nice touch! Great job! :D

Developer

Thank you very much! Yes I love my Highscore list too :-)

Submitted

This was really, very impressed you made this from scratch and had leader boards. Plays great and very smooth. I played this on my youtube and gave my feedback as I played if you want to see it you can here

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for streaming it! :-) I am a very noise-sensitive person, so my audio always tends to be low volume, because i can not stand loud sounds. In a professional game i’d hire an audio artist, but for a jam, there’s not enough time for this.

undocumented feature: PgUp/PgDn keys increase/decrease volume of the game.

Submitted

The volume was fine, I just had mine lower and didnt notice it. Once I did and turned it up to where it fit my levels it was fine so dont worry about that part at all. This was an impressive entry. Good work.

Submitted

Nice! I love that you implemented a high score board :D Everything came together nicely.

Submitted

Hey I got to Level 3, pretty happy with that, cheers.

Developer(+1)

Congratulations! I am really impressed, how many high scores are there in the leader boards. Will have to play some more rounds, so my name stays on the board :D

Quite a neat little space shooter game. Gave it a few solid tries not able to get onto high score board though :(

Awesome game! It’s tense and relaxing at the same time to avoid some bullet hell while shooting non-stop. It’s nice to see how much can be done in so little time. Good Job! Keep going!

Fun game, but i feel like holding the key down to shoot doesn't feel natural when playing this kind of game, I'd like to use left click insted for shooting, as it is just more comfortable and standard, for this type of game.

Cheers! :)

Developer(+1)

True, that’s something different. But same as you try to challenge yourself with something you never did before on a jam (as you wrote, you tried a new genre), I always use jams to experiment with alternative paths, sometimes those experiments brought up new things, which are worth to explore further, sometimes not. this time, I wanted to find “something to do for your second hand”. Just to keep you all away from drinking too much energy drinks while playing… caring about your health! :D

Submitted (1 edit)

Personally i don't do energy drinks thing (i'm a rare case i guess! >.<), but yeah, I do understand and respect what you've mentioned and it's absolutely fine. Maybe instead of holding it down to shoot you could have sort of a temporary weapon boost that gets on cooldown after use?
Some games do have a normal skill if you tap, and if instead you hold on for a bit longer the key, it activates something different. That kind of thing.

I hope this helps, cheers and thank you for the reply :)

Absolute stunner. I didnt make it to the last level but boy.. Original and fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Killing the first boss will show you, that it is “just the little child of mom…” The final encounter is really something… <insert any devastating word of your choice> ;-)

The mainmenu for the game is awesome. also the working leaderboard. loved the visuals and art style you really nailed the visuals. Sweet movement mechanics and shooting is satisfying as well.

Developer

Thank you very much! Glad you liked it

Submitted

Great job with this one and having an active leaderboard for the game jam is outstanding!

Submitted

A really nice submission with a decent level of polish all round. Good work!

Submitted

Very nicely done.  The loading and menu screen very nice.  I couldnt beat the game or get on the highscore. :(  I struggled a little with the mouse not being completely lined up with the movement of the ship, but other than that was fun!

Developer

Yes the ship has a planned inert, it shall delay a bit. That’s why I recommend Fullscreen. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

A solid entry, nicely done. I would have like to get some power back when changing levels at least.

Developer

thank you! yes, there was just not enough time (i have the “4” for the shield implemented but no time to implement drop & collect of powerups.

but you DO get a power up each level. your ship grows and you get more lasers and damage and weapons
