Wow! Very well polished, congrats! Feels very great to play!
Saw this played on stream, really nice polished interpretation of the theme! Had to play it for myself!
Thanks for playing and the feedback! :)
Dang, do you remember who streamed it?
No i don't sorry watched so many the past few days ;(
this was a great game! as soon as i figure out how to get pass the green pits man, great game! art is fantastic, i love your character, the somber music. all great stuff
Thanks you <3
This game is really fantastic. The art, sound, and gameplay are all great. I also really liked the Hollow Knight inspired atmosphere. Super polished for a 48 hour jam. Great job!
Thanks a lot Ben, Hollow Knight is definitly an inspiration! :)
I couldn't get through the whole game, but I love the mechanics and movement system! I love the art style, and this is the most polished game that I've played so far by a lot.
Thank you :)
Let me know if you get stuck at a particular point, so I can see where the flaw in the tutorial/difficulty curve is! :)
It's an awesome submission! I really like the idea of replacing jump with momentum. Some more feedback:
Very well done!
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback,John! :)
A lot of fun ! I wish the game lasted longer :(
BTW, I’m a bit disappointed that you set an altitude limit in the first screen, I immediately tried to fly into space after finishing the game :p
Also, +1 for the gross cuteness of the artstyle :)
Thanks so much Crom! :)
Yea good point, I should have made the level bounds less limiting!
Fantastic atmosphere and I loved how many ways the joined mechanic influenced the overarching design!
thank you Hawkshaw! :)
I love the gameplay and the art! It was super fun to experiment with launching myself around and the exploration of the levels was cool.
Thank you so much, Rebecca! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Very original and addictive! With some more mechanics, entities and polish, this could be released as a full fledged game in the market. Awesome work!
ty :)
Wow that was really fun, creative, and well presented! I really like the feedback when the armor and head snap together. Great game, well done!
I glad you like it, thanks for the feedback! :)
This was a really, really fun one! I appreciate a lot of the polish that was put into it. Whilst the armor sound felt a bit mismatched, the screenshake was a really nice addition, and the gameplay was very interesting and full of little tricks.
The ambiance reminds me a lot of hollow knight, too
Thank you for the kind words.
I definitly see what you mean with the sound, thanks for the feedback! :)
This has high potential to be a full fledged game. Wow, the polish of the game is absolutely excellent. The level design is also very clean to ramp up the pace of puzzle difficulty. Took me a while to get used to the control so maybe a little clearer instruction that shift button will attach you back. But all in all, a total reminder of Hollow Knight. I wish there was more of this :) :)
Thank you :):)
Agreed, the controls and tutorial could be a bit better, thanks for the feedback!
I love the illustrations! The knight with his bloody flesh ball is very ..cute? Need more of this! Fun main mechanic, I think the fall speed needs to be a little less so you have more time to plan what to do in certain puzzles and the controls could be tweaked a bit - maybe spacebar doesn't detach but only jumps when you are controlling the head? I found myself detaching by mistake a lot of the time. Nice entry!
Thank you Peter! :)
The fall speed would have been such an easy fix, great point. I also feel that some of the drops were a bit difficult bc of it.
Someone likes Hollow Knight!
The most polished game I've played so far. Can't believe such a short game made in 48 hours can absolutely nail things like atmosphere, music and sfx, without sacrificing gameplay and fun. Character was very responsive and the puzzles were just right. Can see something like this turning into a real game, after all Hollow Knight started as a game jam game too!
Seriously I can see you have put real effort in sound effects and little things like the screenshake when the armor hits the ground. Music and the background is very atmospheric too.
What is your workflow for creating sound effects? Weirdly that has impressed me the most.
Hollow knight? never heard of it ;) ;D
Thank you so much for all the kind words!
The sound and music is from freesound.org, so I actually didn't create/record the sfx during the Jam and I don't think I would have had the time.
Still my sound worflow was:
-implement sounds very early. Not at the end like I usually do, so there is time for iteration, seeing if the sound works for the game feel.
-layering sound effects for alot of things
-cutting parts in audacity
-rest is intuiton so idk
That's how I do sounds too, but I can tell that you did a much better job in a limited timeframe. It still takes talent to find audio that matches your game and tweak/layer stuff properly!
interesting idea for a game
Original, clever, and has an awesome presentation!
adorable and clever
This game was extremely fun. Fits the theme very well in my opinion and controls great. Has a kind of Hollow Knight and Dark Souls style/vibe!
Thanks alot, Lascif :) these are definitly my main influences!
