Interesting game mechanic with the rope taking down the enemies! Great graphics, and nice soundtrack, really sets the the ninja mood! I had fun playing the game, good job! :D
Thank you for playing the game. :D
You need to play this in fullscreen mode to access the start button but it's really fun =D
Thanks a lot for the comment. Helps a lot of new players out!
Really nice art style and a good concept too. Well done!
Thanks a lot for the support!
Not bad idea, as mentioned, it could be interesting to play at mobile phone with two stick controls. Not enough feedback about rope tension and other stuff that bring the player closer to losing. As I understood, player can lose if tension of physical rope will big enough. Physics system not so good for this, you can lose just jumping in turn. UI buttons fly away not in fullscreen mode) Also sticky Shift buttons are uncomfortable. When ninjas moving horizontally, they lose some forward speed due to the changed direction of the movement vector, which hinders the play a little
Hey, thanks for the suggestion. Yeah the game still have several bugs (UI System) and physics system of the rope can be smoothen out with adding a bit more yield component in the rope so it doesn't snap like as soon as you reach threshold tension, giving player some time to recover. I guess the ninja slowing down when going left or right is part of the idea that you have to speed up and maintain speed. But if you do too much then increase speed of other ninja. After the jam I'll add a lot more obstacles and flying enemies which have to be caught in the rope by running/ Jumping and moving both of them around carefully. Thanks for the support though!
very interesting concept. could be turned into a good time-pass for mobile (you can run on double-tap for instance). well done!
Thanks so much! After the jam I hope I can create a single player mobile version and a couch multiplayer like Morkredd. Planning to add various types of enemies (flying, chain enemies etc.) and see how much fun it can be. Thanks for the support though!
variety of enemies is a great idea, good luck :)
(I wasn't familiar with Morkredd, checked it out just now. looks amazing, thanks for sharing the title!)
This was really fun to run through and the concept is very well thought out. The art and models are also great! I would love to see more of this. Maybe some kind of power ups. Stuff that makes your ropes slice the building too or run faster or something like that. Fantastic job!
Thanks a lot TGVoice! Power ups are a great idea. I'll add that to the roster of things to add after the gamejam besides enemies, various obstacles. Yeah it could feel like Contra back in the day and even add shuriken and katana support. Thanks for the suggestions and support!
The asynchronicity of the characters is really cool and feels very intuitive to control. Right now I think the best strategy is to keep both ninjas in the middle to which allows you to ignore towers almost completely. I might try to spice it up by forcing players to move away from the middle. One way might be having a tower in the center and two ramps at the far sides. That way you'd have to move both ninjas to the far sides in order to carry the rope over the tower and force a trade off between staying near the center.
Glad you like the controls, honestly I am still trying the best place to put the fast run key so it is much easier to access. Yeah, I suppose I was only able to complete the concept and the rope mechanics and didn't have much time to add different type of obstacles ( Your suggestion is pretty awesome, and I definitely am gonna use that). I think as soon as I have a variety of obstacles with varied position I can change the intensity as the game progresses. Will be doing all the changes post Game Jam. Thanks for the support!
Nice work! Interesting tradeoff between playing broad for catching lots of skeletons, and narrow for avoiding obstacles. But does the difficulty increase over time? As soon as you understand the game mechanics, and you play conservatively, you can seemingly play forever...
@akaashG game was ok, I think adding some feedback when rope breaks would be great, also zooming out the camera a little would help, but the way good job :D
interesting game mechanics, good job
nice game.
Awesome little game.
But I did not know the point of having a jump mechanic here because it didn't help me anywhere. Also, in my opinion, an indicator for how long rope can extend before instant game over would be better
Btw, I wanna know so bad how you got the rope thingie to work so well in 3D.
hahaa i love it!! it is great that you must use the rope to kill skelets (and score) but cant hit buildings, clever!
wish it was faster/harder
Hahaha. Thank you. Planning to increase difficulty in future versions. Thanks
Nice work! I think the polish can be improved if you have more time, but the core part of the game is great. I had fun playing. The concept of structures blocking the joining rope was really neat.
So glad you enjoyed the mechanics. Yeah, planning to work on the visuals as well as the some bugs that keep on coming. Hopefully, I would be able to put about a week or 2 on this game and make it really polished for anyone to enjoy! Thanks for the support!!
Nice work on the game! Definitely can be a fun quick 2 player game too! Sometimes I got stuck on the skeletons and the player didn't slash them.
Ooh that's a bug then. I will fix that after the jam. Yes, the idea was to create infinite runner like Morkredd which can be played by single player as well as couch multiplayer. Thanks for the play. Glad you liked it!
For anyone who is only seeing the credits on the menu, switching to fullscreen worked for me! A solid endless runner for a GameJam, nice work! The music was pretty catchy too!
You are a hero. A lot of people do check the review only and this will help a lot for a better play through for them. Thanks a ton!! Glad you like the music :) :)
Simple but good idea. Wish I got to use shurikens or a katana if I'm playing as ninjas though, haha. :)
That is a great idea. These ninjas are working with rope dart which is supposed to be the hardest weapon to master. Will need to think a lot on how to add these mechanics but I will love to add it as a challenge. Thanks for the suggestion and play!!
1) Move both ninjas to the middle
2) Grab a tea :P
Nice work tho, just gotta make sure your random generation covers the edges!
Wow, never thought of that Hahaha. If there was a category for speed runners in the game jam I would give it to you :D :D. I will fix with some more challenging obstacles that cover the edges. Great suggestion. Cheers!!
Nice concept! Killing those skeletons with the rope was fun :D
Hahaha, yes soon we will make them waves of skeleton that you can kill with different rope shapes. Imagine swinging the rope up and down to catch all those pesky skeleton and show who the real danger in town is!!
I like the idea, It was simple but fun for a good while. Only bad thing about it was the bugs, Aside from that great game
I am so glad you liked it for a good while. Planning to add more mechanics and different waves of enemy to keep the player engaged and challenged in the future. Yes, last minute bugs were so much hassle. Thanks for the support though!
