I really like this, but I wish that there were either more checkpoints or that gems you picked up on runs stayed in your inventory because it was frustrating to constantly go through all the side steps of getting all the gems I've already gotten just to get to the one jump at the end of the level that I wanted to make...
But I really love this concept, and the gameplay is quite fun! I love all the shifting perspectives and the way the game makes you think hard about how to get to some of those secret gem spots
Indeed, we didn't think about checkpoints but is something really important you're right! Thank you a lot for your feedback 😁
Very interesting and innovating concept. Controls could be more responsive, overall well done
Thank you! You're right, the jump is a little bit frustrating! Kind of hard to have a smooth platformer character, we should work on this for next time 😁
Concept is well done, If you decide to. you can easily make this a full game
I think there is still a huge gap between a Game Jam game and a real game, but it's nice to read to think so 😁 Thank you!
Such a great job! i love the concept and had a ton of fun playing! Puzzles definitely had my brain working! One of my favourites of the jam!
Thank you sooo much! So greatful to read this!
This is my favorite art style! The intersection of each other’s worlds is interesting because it adds depth to the level! And many times I fell off the screen and died. It would be nice to respawn at a nearby location.
Thank you a lot! You're right, that would a remove frustration, it's a good learning for next times 😁
Good concept, great gameplay, chill music.
So proud you liked it! Thank you! 😁
This was a very nice game, I liked the cocept a ton and I think the concept has a lot of potential, nice game.
Thanks! We are thinking on a few additional levels that we'll maybe release after the jam if people are interested enough
I saw quite a lot of platformers with alternating controls in the jam, but this one really hit the spot and take the concept all the way it needed to go.
I kinda freeked out the first time I went under and then fell (was not expecting it) but really good surprise. it's a nice add to the game mechanic.
(33 yellows, 7 greens, 4 reds, 12:48)
A bit frustrated I didn't get all the crystals I might give it another go later.
Great job !
Thank you a lot for enjoying the game! 😁
You had most of them, good try! Maybe we should have tell how many crystals there are at the end 🧐
There are quite a few games that did the up and down character mechanic, but this one feels pretty polished. I love the art style, water effects and the fact that is one of the few game jam games that allows for rebind able keys.
So nice to read, thank you! Good to know you've appreciated the rebinding. It was one of the first thing that has been implemented, we've played too many games done for a particular keyboard and super annoying to play when the key are misplaced on your keyboard!
Quite the mind boggling game! I thoroughly enjoyed this!
That's soo good to read this! Thank you a lot!
Well executed and looks good! Fits the theme as well, I enjoyed going trough it! Would love some more checkpoints along the way, I fell out in the sky more times than I would want :D
Thank you a lot, happy you've enjoyed it!! You're right for the checkpoints, we didn't think at it first but it would have been a nice touch 😁
Whoa, that level flipping idea was awesome! I think making the jump feel a little less floaty and adding some coyote time for jumps would really help with the game feel. Overall, that was a neat idea and I really liked the swirly visual effect for the flip zones. Good job!
Thank you a lot for your feedback!! We thought of the coyote time but never had the time to, but you're right it would have help! You're not the only one to make a comment about the wavy effect, it is a bit too strong that's true 😁
You made a really nice looking game, and it was fun to play too. I recommend you add extra gravity when the player starts falling -- it will make the game a little more snappy. In any case, great job :)
Super great idea, thank you! We didn't think about it! Can be really interesting even in other platformer 😁
This game was gorgeous, and the music was really memorable and relaxing! There were a good variety of levels, ones that helped you understand the game and others that forced you to really use your skills in a timed situation, and I had a blast with it! The puzzle mechanic was well thought out and the maps were a fun and puzzling maze, and I'd love to see more! Good job.
Thank you a lot! That's great to know you had fun! For the music, big thanks to emcmonky who agreed to make us a wonderful music that fits the mood!
Nice mechanic, wonderfully presented :)
I liked that you took it further than just switching when they started passing through the boundaries.
I think I could have done with a few checkpoints; I did die a lot by flying out of bounds, and it was annoying starting all the way back at the start of the levle.
Thank you for your feedback! You're totally right! We didn't think about checkpoints while designing the game but it can remove a lot of frustration! 😁
So beautiful! I love the art you implemented And the mechanic to switch between world its pretty original ;)
Super happy to read this! The original art asset come from That_gray_guy (Tileset) and Arks (Characters) if you want to have a look to their work 😊
Sweet Thanks!!!!! :D
Nice game ! , try to reduce dome effects my eyes start to hurt after some time.
Ahah you're right, you're not the first one to say this! We've made some additional adjustment after the final submission and indeed it hurts less 😅
Awesome art, wonder how you dealt with that wobbly reverse shader!
Thank you! Check the game page for the link to the artist page 😁
For the wobbly reverse shader, we've created a big area on top of the level with the shader applied. The shader then just reproduce what is under (screen texture instead of self texture) and apply some noise deformation to it 👍 I can send you the code if you're interested in!
I'd be super interested in seeing the code if you're ok with that, it always looks ambitious to me when devs dive into shader work for a short jam like this!
Enjoy : Blue Shader (link to GitHub repo) 😁
To be fair, I've never looked into shader before and really wanted to learn about them! I think Game Jam are a great moment to learn new things!
You're right! Also something I really want to get into soon. Thanks a lot for the code!
Great game and art! I've loved the effect on the opposing side, it helped making the game less confusing.
Thanks! And at the same time when you have to play in the wavy zone it also gives some kind oh headaches haha!
Really cool game! I really enjoyed the concept, the presnetation and especially really great level design! And kudos for the humor on the end of fire level :-). that made me lol!
Thank you so much!! It was a lot of effort to conceive something not too hard, when I let my co-jammer test my levels and saw how he struggled with what I felt like super basic stuff I started it all over again several times!
