Love this game. Well done!

The cliff part is little confusing. I thought I should use the wall on the right to swing but not. Sometimes I accidentally shot the arrow out of the camera area (or on the spike) and was unable to get it back. Then I had to restart it.

Developer

We're glad you enjoyed the game! We agree that losing the bow is a common problem in the game so to combat this  in coming updates we hope to add a recall for when your bow is lost / stuck. Hope you still enjoyed your playthrough! :)

Thank you!

I really like this game! The art is great and it feels super polished! This is one of my favorite games I've played so far this jam! Amazing work overall!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Looks beautiful and has a good core idea, feels polished.

It was a bit strange, that enemies did not recover after loading the checkpoint, I basically killed the boss by shooting it once, then dying. xd

Developer(+1)

We're glad you liked it! Also yes the boss is a little bit glitchy as we where adding it in the last 5 minutes haha

I guess it turned out to be pretty good then. :p

We can sometimes lose our bow for silly physics reason, but outside of that it's really, really good, loved it !

Developer(+1)

We're really glad you enjoyed it!  The bow can be a bit unpredictable, but we hope it didn't cause you too much trouble! :)

Really awesome game! The controls felt very strong. I really enjoy how you spun around the theme in an interesting way. Might be good to add a bow recall of some kind or a reset I think. I did get stuck and couldn't retrieve it.

Developer

Thank you for playing! You can press 'R to regain your bow and go back to a checkpoint. :)

I should learn to read the description D: haha

Cool game!  It looks good.  I don't think I quite understood the mechanics because I couldn't figure out how to get up a large height using the bow.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! We forgot to teach the player how to swing on the bow in the game, but you can use A and D to build momentum and jump higher while grappling :)

Thanks for stopping by the stream and sharing your game! I had a lot of fun playing this :)

The slow introduction of mechanics felt great. Teaching through doing is the best way! The game quickly ramped up in what it asked of platforming, but it felt within the range of my ability. I think having checkpoints at each room would have felt a little better so you don't need to retrace your steps from a missed jump.

As mentioned on stream, it would have been really cool to have a double jump to allow a shoot-swing-release-jump-shoot-swing combo for some extreme platforming. Thanks again for sharing and well done!

We're glad you had fun playing! We will definitely add your suggestion when we update the game :)

The use of the bow as both a weapon and means of swinging is a really neat idea. However, I personally found the difficulty curve to be somewhat steep and the inclusion of enemies to be unnecessary when the main focus is on platforming for most rooms. The sprites are great and the music fits in with the game nicely. Well done overall, I enjoyed playing!

Developer

We're glad you enjoyed the game! We had difficulty balancing the levels due to limited playtesting, so will use more if we work on the game :)

I LOVE THIS GAME

THANK YOU!

Thanks for sharing the game. Maybe add a hint about the swing mechanic the first time you need to use it.

Yes, we definitely will. Thank you for the feedback! :)

Wow, the concept is great! The pixel art looks really nice. The mechanic is simple but full of potential. For a gamejam, I think it's the perfect formula.

However, I had difficulty with most of the challenges. I think you could have given more situations/levels in which the player didn't die if he fail. This could have allowed him to learn the mechanic without being punished too much.

Overall the game is great, good job! :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! We had a few play testers and some found it a challange but some found it decently easy so we struggled to get the difficulty perfect! I'm glad you enjoyed though!

Lovely game! The dual mechanic of having the bow as both a weapon and a swing is very clever and felt really great to use, super well done!!!

Developer

Thank you! We really appreciate this!

This was an extremely fun game. I loved the mechanics and the pixel art looked excellent. I would love to see it in a bigger game. This definitely deserves more attention.

THE GOOD (what i liked, and what stood out for me):

This is a hidden gem among the games! Amazing effects and art style, with some nice game juice that keeps me satisfied throughout the game, no matter how hard! :D PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GIVE YOUR GAME A LOGO AND SOME SCREENSHOTS!!! I would love this game to see more attention! The swinging mechanic was nicely made, and everything was "fluid" and moving, which I found aesthetically pleasing. The introduction animation was awesome too!

THE BAD (what i disliked, the bugs, and other problems):

Firstly, like I said before, you have to include a logo for your game! from any layman's perspective, it looks like the person forgot to submit the game and it's broken or something. So about the game itself, I felt like I needed to look very closely to see where I was because of the color scheme. Although I like your 2 bit art style, I think it would have been better suited to have a much higher contrast color scheme. There was a part in the level which I wasn't able to cross, and I spent 10 minutes trying to find a way past it, but it came to no avail, so maybe difficulty is something that could be tuned a bit more. I think there was some clipping as well with the collisions.

THE HARSH (stuff that would just make the game better, usually just personal opinion, don't take it too heavily :D ):

If you are planning to make this a full game, I suggest improving your performance, since right now, the game runs incredibly slowly for most low-end PC's when in full screen, and disrupts the fluidity of the game.

OVERALL: A great hidden gem! A solid 3,4,5
