I liked how I could pair anyone I wanted! I found myself deliberately trying to pair orcs and humans just for fun! Sweet game!
Interesting concept where you have link up people! Nicely done!
Really neat idea, and gorgeous pixel art!! Cool combination of some kind of puzzle-action mechanics. Definitely could see this getting expanded to a proper-length game - and I'd play it, too!
Looks really nice, the art is great. Nice job
Extremely well polished and neat entry. Perhaps its just a little easy, but you did a phenomenal job!
This is such a beautiful and funny game. Loved the art, loved the concept, loved the tiny priest forcing people into marriage. Just loved it.
This game was enjoyable to play. The different enemies did a good job at making it harder as time went on, and I liked how the last boss worked. I think that marrying people gives you hearts is a good design choice.
But most of all this gaming humorous and charming. I loved the big mustached man and seeing the ending pictures of everyone either looking uncomfortable or happy. Really funny!
You pixel art was fantastic too. Really really good.
My only negatives is that I wish there were more environments, and the game is still relatively easy to beat. Wish it was harder!
Cool idea, music and gamplay match soo well, great job really fun to play :D
This game is well-presented, with nice graphics, music, and a lot of humor. :) I really enjoyed playing it.
The mechanic is quite unique and interesting, however my only suggestion would be to explore some ways to make the player consider some things when "matching" the people. Oftentimes I just find myself mindlessly dashing through everyone and matching them with whoeever is nearest and that usually does the job. It would be more interesting if there is some mechanic that forces the player to formulate some strategies.
Overall though I think this is an amazing accomplishment for a jam so a real good job! :)
The photos are so great! I like the synergy of gaining health by making matches, very elegant design
Holy Sheep, i love the wedding pics!!!
Very funny! The photos were a lovely touch. The whole game was so cute!
great art and really fun my fav part was the wedding photos though
pretty good guys! love the artwork!
Quite a simple game but fun :) Really nice artwork and attention to detail with the cutscenes and teaching the player how to play. Good work :)
cool concept and good execution. the photos are really funny. keep up the good work!
Really great game, well done on thinking of an interesting way to interpret the theme. This was a lot of fun to play, and then you for having so many control options that made it a lot easier on my hands being able to do mouse clicks instead of WASD.
Wow! And I mean WOW! Insanely well polished for the amount of time you had. The art is incredible and all the different photos you can make for putting pairs together is crazy too.
Not only that, you had an interesting boss fight at the end too. A really great small game and I can't believe how wonderful it looks and feels!
The dialogue hook at the beginning was very nice. Long enough to get me interested in the game and it's story, short enough to not make me want to stop playing. Good job on that.
After that, the first thing I was greeted with was a text-based tutorial of the controls and "how to play" instructions. I'm not a fan of text tutorials. I hate reading, I like playing. So, I'd rather play and learn as I go. The actual execution of the tutorial was well done, I understood it once I read the tutorial and started playing, since the controls were really simple. The text tutorial isn't horribly front-loaded. But, I still feel like it could've been taught through play in small pieces rather than as making the player read text all at once as the very first thing they do in the game.
I really like the art, especially the silly pictures after each marriage. I also really appreciate that there were no arbitrary gender rules about marriage, that was very nice.
Some of the sound effects confused me (especially the melee character's attack sound effect). It sounded like a damage sound effect and each time I thought I took damage. When in reality, it was just the sound of an attack. So, I had a lot of trouble figuring out when I was actually damaged or not due to the SFX, unless I actually looked at my health at the top. This isn't a huge deal since the game uses pre-existing audio, but something to keep in mind in future projects.
The boss fight at the end was interesting. I saw the earlier marriages between people as active gameplay where you had an active goal of joining everyone together. You, the player, have control over how long you have to survive, since you control how fast you marry everyone. But the boss fight at the end turned to a more passive goal of "survive" where you, the player, don't have control over the gameplay beyond the light bullet hell style gameplay. The boss fight was fun, but I had a lot more fun with the gameplay prior to it since I had more control and an active goal, rather than a passive one.
Overall, the game was great and I had a lot of fun playing it. Great job and thank you for the review on my team's game you gave earlier :)
Awesome game, the idea is pretty original and the art style is amazing. The photos after joining couples are so cute.
