A bit hard to figure out at first, but still nice. I love the illustrations, though! They are cute.

A slower ramp up in difficulty or a tutorial would have been super helpful -- it took me many tries to get the hang of the controls. But it's an incredibly unique and original take on the theme and is well executed for a jam. Great work!

Cool concept and cute characters, my only concern is learning the controls and understanding the game in the first few seconds since the goat starts to move towards you as soon as you start the game.

You deffinetly need to work a bit on a simpler way to introduce mechanics to the player, but I understand its a jam. Great work !!!

Interesting idea, love the cute art! I think holding a button to only move that dog would feel more intuitive than moving every dog except that one. Also being able to hold more than one button in either case would be nice.

I finished the game but I'm still not quite sure how I'm supposed to use the dig interact? I used it on the mounds of dirt which was fine but it seemed a little finicky. I took a lot of damage in the process.

Also, having something you need to do as the big dog I think might feel nice?

All in all nice job for the jam

Nice concept! I loved the music and graphics, even though they were a bit buggy at times and the mechanics are also fun. You could maybe also add an attack to the big dog. Something like an ultimate attack with very high limitations, so that for example the small dogs abilitys are gone for a moment.

Overall a great game!

Hahaha so awesome Cerberus like many dogs doesn't like his bath time hehe, super original use of the theme!! Awesome job for sure :D please check out mine when you have time~

I really like the art of this game! <3 I died twice while reading the controls and several times while trying to get the hang of them but once I did it was really good =D

Submitted(+1)

Quite nice! It took me a few times until I figured it out, but once I did it was a lot of fun. Amazing graphics and music, great presentation and fun gameplay, good job!

This is definitely a nice mechanic and a good aesthetic!

One problem: The first level is a bit much to discover the mechanics, it might be better to take it a bit slower when doing your next intro level / further developing this.

Love the art style, the dogs are so adorable! Simple yet effective gameplay elements, took a few tries to figure it out though. I love that the enemies are just their care takers trying to catch them to take a bath... made me smile! Good job on the game! :D

Cerberus! Nicely done!

I love the sprite for Laguna. It’s relatable. Also, I appreciate naming them after their respective keys, that was nifty. Congrats on the game!

Love the concept and the artwork for the doggies. Controls were a bit hard at times though and the dig seemed to only take effect after you released, took a few hits before I realized how it worked properly. Good job for the time frame you had to work with.

Doggos! Three doggos! This game must be good three times because it has three good boys! Good arts and good musics and good take on the theme.

However, the controls and gameplay left me a little confused. As another commenter mentioned, some sort of practice or start level would have worked wonder for the player to try it out. Instead I had to trial and error through several attempts (and dogs making ouchie noises) before I was able to clear the first level. And even then, the second level just completely did not make sense :(

This looks like it was an ambitious project for 48 hours, and what you created is still pretty incredible and worth being proud of. Good job. Keep up the good doggo games <3

Thank you! I really do think Kyle and Mile's dog sprites are carrying this game! I'm glad I spent so much time setting up their animations.

What a creative interpretation of the theme! Great thinking with this one. And it was fun. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much! It was wonderful having you and stream this evening, btw :)

I love the concept! I love the interpretation of the theme! It was really fun once I got the hang of the controls! I love the art and the animation quality was very nice! Some of the doggy faces reminded me a lot of Scooby and that was also really nice! Great job all around!

The concept was original, and the art and music are quite good ^^ !

However, the level design/gameplay is a bit strange (probably due to the time limit ^^).

In the very first level, I'm attacked 3 seconds in, without having the time to read the controls. An "empty" level as tutorial would have been great =).

Then, I don't understand the "Stay" mechanic, is it used anywhere ? That could have been a good element is the level design used that, like buttons that needed to be held down ^^.

The "dig" was not obvious, I had to re-read the tutorial to understand.

Overall, the concept is nice, but I feel like you were short of time for the level design ^^. It's okay, that's the challenge of a 48h game jam, but I'm curious what you could have done with a bit more time =)

Developer

Originally this was supposed to be a puzzle game, so having a dog sit and stay on a button or avoid spikes would have been quintessential to the overall level design. But then we ran into some snags during development and had to abandon almost all of that. The Stay! mechanic is a vestige of that older design that we decided to keep for posterity. Thank you for such salient game design critiques!

nice game and good concept.

Thank you very much!

Good concept and fun game , some feedback I would provide is make the mechanics more intuitive/obvious. (dig)

Developer

Thank you very much for playing our game! Your feedback is definitely fair and we'll be retooling the game design post-jam to address the intuitiveness and engagement of the mechanics.

Fun idea. I'd be interested to see what you could do with this given more time. Love the mechanic of splitting Cerberus into 3 individual dogs with their own skills.

Developer

It was a pleasure having you on stream the other day!
With all this supportive feedback that we've been receiving, I think we'll retool this concept and let the game really shine :)

Awesome! Give me a shout if you do end up taking this further so I can give it another play. :)
