How does your game fit the theme?
You defend wagons that are joined together in a train. You have to protect the all the wagons from coyotes. (Initially I wanted to make where each wagon has an important mechanic like having ammo boxes, shops, etc, and you could lose that feature if you didn't protect it). DIDN'T HAVE TIME THO
Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

Good start here! Making reloading a bit easier would help with the difficulty of the game (i never had enough gold to purchase ammo by the time i was out). It also wasn't quite clear that you could move around either, so something telling the player about that would be useful. Making the enemies slower, and more spread out in the beginning would also help out a lot. Good start here!
This would have been a little more forgiving if the enemies more randomly spread out versus mainly being in the middle. But with a moving train maybe picking up or losing rail cars this could be pretty fun and fit the theme.
A fellow train game! It's pretty nice! The theme isn't greatly utilized, and it's a bit unforgiving with the constant enemies, long reload times, and upgrades being placed so far away, but the general "defend the store" concept is solid and can certainly be expanded upon. This is a good start! Keep it up!
Nice game! Didn’t feel like the theme fits here - the wagons are joined but stationary and act pretty much like a large single room. Found the enemy waves too harsh, tried several times but couldn’t last long before I lost. Anyways, nice job!
Thanks for the feedback! I think my original idea was more fitting, but I didn't have the time to implement all I wanted, I'll definitely try to make it better with the updates post jam!
This idea is interesting! We came up with train-related idea, too. But we end up decide to use stretcher chain and ambulance, haha!
Just played your game, loved it! Thanks for the comment!
The enemies come WAYY too fast I don't think it's actually possible to get past the first 10-15 seconds, however I like the concept of the game and it has potential if you keep working on it!
Interesting concept but it needs polishing
The player gets surrounded by a tons of enemies as soon as the game starts, I would suggest to make it more like a wave system and the first wave only spawns a few enemies, and the number keeps rising from that point. The game should pause when the shop menus come up (as other people have already mentioned)
I see that you planned on giving each wagon a specific purpose, and having that wagon lost means you lose that feature as well, and I really like that concept. I am sorry that you didn't get time to implement it though.
This could become an amazing game if you are going to make a post jam version
Thanks a lot for your feedback! I'm already working on a post jam version, hopefully it will meet my original expectations for the game!
Great idea! I could see it being expanded into levels with a story like "you're always on the run" or maybe something like a tower defense where you upgrade the train to help shoot back at enemies. Shooting felt pretty decent but honestly I only ever managed to repair the middle car once before it was over; besides the stuff others have said, perhaps giving a limited chill time between waves would allow for the player to have the time needed to hit up the repair wagons.
Good idea and fun. Gameplay needs more balance tho, enemies have way too much health for the first wave and spawn too fast. Reloading action and time also feels a little bit off. Can become in a great mini game with more polish. Good work on your game jam submission!
Original and interesting concept. However, some feedback i have is to perhaps pause the game when the menu pops up since it becomes quite hectic when you try to figure out what to level up the same time you get pummeled by foes.
Good work!
I like upgrade games but could never get the time to buy stuff, being able to exit menus by walking away so I can buy stuff and get back to shooting quickly would be cool. so tutorial kind of stuff explaining how to get ammo and other stuff from other carts would be awesome. I'm excited to play the updated version in your description.
This was an interesting take on the theme. The shooting and aiming felt pretty natural, and I liked that you used particles for when an enemy dies. The gameplay is simple and straightforward, and generally you did a decent job.
This could have a lot of potential with some more polishing and balancing though. Your graphics, though premade, have different pixel sizes which makes the art style a bit inconsistent. The enemies also, like mentioned in previous comments, have a bit too much health and spawn a bit too fast. If you want this game to be infinite, it would be nice to have the difficult ease in with enemies getting stronger and spawning faster the longer you stay alive. Also, it seems that the quit button doesn't work (Since you used unity, the only line you need to close the game is Application.Quit(); )
This is good work for a jam submission, and I'd love to see this expanded on in the future!
I think enemies have too much life, sometimes it was imposible to defend the train having a lot of enemies coming at me and getting out of ammo. Overall i think it is a nice concept, with more polishing it would be a fun game to play. Nice job^^
The idea behind the game is quite cool! But it is really difficult, I would have liked for it to be a little bit balanced. Keeping in mind that the jam had only 48h of development is understandable, so, in spite of beeing unbalanced, good job!
I didn't have time to play test it, but thank you for your advice! I'll surely balance it better once I'm able to update the game.
The overall idea is quite good, but I think the difficult is not really well balanced. Many enemies that take too long to die while you have so little ammo. Also try getting pre-existing art with the same pixel proportions, so it looks less like it was just copied from somewhere else.
Congratulations for the entry, hope you keep developing games!
Thanks for the feedback Eduardo! Yeah I just mixed a lot of pre-existing art because I didn't have time to make graphics. I'm glad you liked the idea! I'll focus the next 2 weeks on adding content, polishing and balancing the game!
Fancy idea and fun gameplay! I really enjoyed this one, good job!
Cool idea, lot of fun to play. Good job!
(Pressing QUIT doesn't quit, while pressing CREDITS quits the game)
Nice game!
LOL i guess i forgot to code the main menu properly, will fix that when possible!
I really like your original idea, hope you expand on it!
