Very addicting to play! I like the minimalist aesthetic and the gameplay was engaging, well done! :)
Healer bots seem a bit OP, got up to 2482 with a bunch of those. Really cool how smoothly everything moves without any real collision bugs, and it's fun to play :) I think it would be cool if you could define or pick from different formations/AI strategies for your nanobots to follow. Two things I noticed:
-Got a small bug where I pressed Space while the upgrade screen was up (it came up right as I was about to join) and it seemed to hard lock the game.
-Sometimes melee bots would path after an enemy that had gone offscreen and get stuck on the edge of the screen
Looks good and is pretty fun once you figure it out, though as a few people have noted a tutorial would go a long way, I was pretty confused myself for a hot minute. That and enemies becoming nearly too small to see but can still hit you. Overall I quite like the idea and when it works it works quite well, a little bit of polish and I think you'll have yourself a very fun little game!
This was a very fun experience that did not make me feel bored for the entirety of the playthrough. You managed to create some beautiful visuals with simple shapes and effects as well as a simple premise but with engaging enough gameplay to keep you occupied.
The only problem I encountered was the size of the allies when they become too big for you to see or when enemies would be way too hard to see because of their incredibly small size.
One of my favourite games of the jam! Beautiful game that I got lost playing for an hour! absolutley loved it!
Fun game, and really nice aesthetic. An in game tutorial would be nice, but still, this is a job well done!
I really enjoyed it, it has a simple but cool aesthetics and an intriguing gameplay!
It would really benefit from a tutorial, it took some time for me to understand how everything worked.
The game was extremely fun and cool. One thing though. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but when I lose and restart the game, enemies from the last playthrough are still there. If this was intentional, I can see why it would be; but, my last playthrough was just me running away like crazy and gathering those blue thingies whenever they appear. As a result, the whole screen was filled with enemies, to the extent I suffered from slow-down issues. So when I died, and pressed "Play" to play again, my hexagon spawned inside the enemy and died immediately!
Other than that slight issue, I loved this game! I'm already a fan of "shapes fighting each other" games (I don't know if there's a name for the genre), and this was definitely one of the better ones! Controls were fluent, mechanics were cool (albeit a bit hard to understand), the music was enjoyable. I've also noticed the music slightly changes as my health changes. I think the pitch increases as my health decreases? Not sure. That was a cool addition. Very nice work!
Hard to play when you're not using a qwerty keyboard. :-)
I'm also not sure what the advantage of joining together vs spreading out was.
Nice controls. Nice art. It was a bit hard to understand what you needed to do, and how to score points.
This looks nice, the art and music is super good, but unfortunately I wasn't really able to understand how to play the game. Which is the health bar, how do I know whether I'm attacking or joining? Often when I was in 'join mode' the enemies would bounce off me. It looked like they were doing damage, but I have no idea. why does that happen? I think this game needed a bit more playtesting from idiots like myself haha.
Interesting approach. Kinda meditative gameplay with this type of background music created an unusual atmosphere. Really liked the idea of nanobots having two modes and that we get to choose what upgrade to get.
Had a crash after about 5 minutes in, and to be honest half the time I had no idea what I was doing, except pumping up circle bots as much as possible and dodging to get the little triangle symbols.
BUT. It was a lot of fun and kept me on my toes. A great, inventive use of the theme, and some good strategy in there -- pulling the in to re-direct your swarm at big enemies, tightening formation to utilize healers, etc. Hope you polish this one, because it's really clever!
