I loved it! Super engaging and interesting theme. I did sometimes struggle to plan out my moves when the climbers didn't move to the tiles I expected when sending them back but it wasn't bad enough to break the game for me. Nice job!
I'm glad I finally found someone else who put voice over in their game :p
Very novel idea, as others have pointed out, I found the game kind of tricky but the art/music really create an overall polished game!
This is a great idea! Very difficult but still fun. I really like the concept of a reverse board game. It might be a good idea to show the stats of the climbers or to add different types of climbers that play differently. Good job overall!
Loved the idea and the voiced intro was great! Congratulations on your submission.
Nice game concept, card deck mountain defence! I like that there's a voiced introduction, spared no expense on the production value! Good job! :D
Card game and mountain climbing! my 2 favorite things made into a game! Loved it! Nice execution! Check out ours too!
I really enjoyed this game ! The controls and mechanics are simple (if you can remember them...), and the art is very cute. The music changing on certain phases also caught my attention; it was a very cool touch !
I couldn't make it to the end cause it was too hard for me, but I really enjoyed it nevertheless !

Slay the spire to stop the players from climbing is a great idea!
Very creative interesting idea! I think there's a lot of potential here. I was just a bit confused on what the climbers will do. My suggestion if you expand on this (sorry if you had this and I didn't see it) is to signify what the climber enemies will do, similar to StS, and also somehow visually include how they react to different hazards. It will magnify the puzzle aspect of the game and make the purpose of each player action clearer.
Feels like a card-based tower defense game, almost. Could definitely be fleshed out in a lot of cool directions!
It's great to hear this as someone who was really pushing the idea of card based tower defense, in the end the team settled for a little different approach, but I'm glad that the references show in the gameplay anyway ^^
This was really clever! It wound up being far more engaging than I expected. I would be nice to see some of the stats a little more clearly at the end of each turn, but that doesn't hinder the game much. Very nice work!
Really fun game, I absolutely love the idea of this basically being reversed rougelite deckbuilder but instead it becomes a strategy deckbuilder. I was actually thinking how someone would reverse the likes of Slay the Spire and this honestly answers my question pretty well! I’m not going to criticize much stuff here since all I wanted to say has already been said in other comments. Thanks for making this!
Neat game! Very thematic cards, cute sprites, and well done on the music!
We also made a game where you played as the Mountain keeping hikers off it, so it was super interesting to see a strategy version of it :)
Now that's something I have to check!
Love it!
Really nice game + you did the voice acting! So good! Well Done!
Good game, I like deck games but they need time to be understood and played, I think it's a risky bet for a gamejam. But it's a good game with good music and nice graphics. Congratulations and good job!
You are completely right, also card games take a lot of time in designing (both visually and gameplay wise) cards, levels and so on.
Clearly somebody in the design team didn't know how to scope (me)
Very cool game! I love the fact you voiced the text so player doesn't have to strain your eyes, also the music is great:D
Really enjoyed playing (and I don't usually like virtual card games). Cool procedural narration generator.
What I missed the most gameplaywise, is knowing climbers stats, as was said by others.
What would benefit game most for me is adding some personality to those pesky climbers. Different stats and perks. Maybe ones using sunscreen, and sun doesn;'t bur them. Another has sheatrs with him, and vines do not hurt him, another is fat, so wind wont set him back, his allergic to vines though.
Nowing little more about those climbers would make setting them back even more enjoyable.
There actually already are different climbers. At one point they had different sprites, too... and then they didn't xD. Another casualty of the crunch, it would seem! A lot of things seem to have vanished in the last hour or so of hard crunching, probably some kind of merge conflict issue, who knows! Point is, we agree, and the infrastructure is already in place for that. Cool suggestions, thanks!
"Knowing little more about those climbers would make setting them back even more enjoyable."
That made me think, what if we gave a little bit more of backstory to the climbers?
"This is Barry, Barry has two kids who loves very dearly, but since the divorce he hasn't been able to see them as much. His ex-wife despises him because he is unable to comunicate his problems and solves all of them with alcohol. Barry is climbing the mountain for his children, he wants to make them proud and have something to talk about with them."
Would you push Barry away from his goal? Will you make his life in this cruel world more hellish than what it already is? Is the relic more important than the lives it has taken?
Something worth thinking about
Great idea! I really like it, I had a ton of fun playing it. Good job!
