That's the most funny game I've seen in the jam yet ! The dudes are looking like a big snake when stacked up and that's really funny ! But sometimes the player seems to be hard to control, especially when the dudes are turned on the ground. But congrats for your awesome game !

The sound effects were funny and caught me off guard at first. It also looked great and it reminded me of slitherio. It took a little bit for me to get my dude tower up straight but I'm not that good of a gamer. I thought it very enjoyable but it might just be me but after about 15 minutes of gameplay I think I was getting a little dizzy. I think it may be because I was getting too close to the wall and turning my camera quickly. Otherwise, a really good submission for this year's theme!

I bawled my eyes out when my dudes stacked to 15. Never thought it could be done. But you madmen, you did it.

The game is undeniably hilarious, I had a few other friends try the game out and watched as they attempted to stack higher and higher, dismount to collect cds, and try to scale the map.

Similarly to others it took me a while to figure out how to stand up after falling down but once I figured that out it became an easier experience.

Dude I'm crying rn dude I didn't think it was possible...every time I have to abandon my dudes I tear up a little but I know the dudes get it, dude, they know I need that Knowledge Munchers Deluxe CD-ROM dude...

Developer

there is no limit to dudes... they will create the tower to the heavens that man could not

Very creative - I loved your theming and the concept of the game was fantastic.

Early on in playing my character fell on his side. I spent 10 minutes trying to get him to stand up so that I can stack vertically. I was stacking on my side, but I was stacked as a long snake. I found out how to stand up after reading these comments. Maybe have the start place knock him down, then use the LEFT SHIFT + WASD keys as a quick tutorial.  Trying to figure how to jump or climb would be another great tutorial

I can see where you were going with this. Had I been able to figure out how to get vertical again, I'm sure I would have played this for a long while.

Several times I did fall through the matrix how ever.

Developer

Yeah, we need to make a more clear tutorial for sure. There's an NPC who says it at the beginning (and it's in controls) but it needed to be more obvious, cause that part of the controls is not very intuitive. We appreciate the feedback! Thank you.

Oh wow, I can't believe you just invented good game design for this Jam.  (Also I hope they unclog the turllet)

Developer

Dude, thank you so much! (You thought that turlet was bad? Check your bathroom dude.......rising sea levels dude it wasn't me)

Is there a way to get yourself vertical again after your main dude faceplants? I tried to jump onto one of the roofs early on and fell face-down. After that, every time I tried to jump, I'd just hump the ground instead x)

Anyway I was fully drawn in by your thumbnail. The floppy mechanics of the dude stack are very entertaining.

Developer(+1)

Yes! If you hold Left Shift, you can roll the dude using WASD. It's in the controls section/there's an NPC who tells you about it at the beginning, but this was a detail we should've made more clear as it's an important control! Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed!

The higher you stack the crazier the mechanics get! Loved the humor! There were some glitchy mechanics sometimes especially when the stack got over 10 high. I could sometimes stick to and climb walls. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but it was amusing.

Submitted(+2)

oh my, that was VERY hard to control lololol

i enjoyed every single part of it tho! fun game and interesting mechanic

Definitely the best comedy game I have played so far in the jam! The dialogue was quirky and kept me looking for more people to talk to. Stacking dudes was a very interesting mechanic and I enjoyed flinging the top one off into the stratosphere, though it was hard to do consistently, which hindered my enjoyment of the game a bit. The music was fantastic and I feel was what brought the whole experience together for me - that really rough, bass-y instrument was incredible!

Congrats to the team on making a great game!

Fun game! Got soft-locked on my side at one point, but really nice job!

Developer

Did you try rolling using Left Shift? Just wondering if anything else happened that got you stuck. Thanks for playing and we appreciate the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I didn't try the rolling. I had stacked a few, then unstacked and ended up sideways. Maybe I'll try that again.

Developer

Yeah, we definitely needed to make the "Left Shift to Roll" instruction more clear, as a lot of folks didn't see it in our controls section. Feel free to let me know if you get soft-locked again, or if this works to fix the issue. Thanks!

Physics: Yes

Moai: present

cd-rom: SONIC UUUUUUNLEASHED YEAHHHHH

Developer

The greatest Easter egg of all is that the official Sega PC port of Sonic Unleashed is contained as a mini game within Dudestack...but only true believers can find it.

wait so im not a true believer?!

These dudes have got some better breakdancing moves than some Olympic athletes these days ;). Super creative take on the theme, really took me back to those old games where you're just exploring a world and having fun with these janky mechanics. You managed to perfectly nail the jank without making it actually behave buggy or weird. Very impressive, I love this one!

Developer(+2)

Thanks, that's exactly what we were going for! Glad you enjoyed :D !

Creative use of the theme for a platformer! Controls are fun to play with but I wish it was a little easier to get your stack of dudes standing upright. Watching the dudes flop around as you platform was a lot of fun!

Developer(+1)

That's definitely something we're going to work on going forward! The roll mechanic with Left Shift certainly needs to be tuned a bit. Thanks for playing and the feedback!

I genuinely hope I see a clip of this in Mark's end-of-jam wrap-up video. This is so incredibly wacky. You knew the exact kind of game you wanted to make, and you made it. No notes 😂

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! Being on Mark's end-of-jam wrap up video would be a dream come true :)

I don't know what i'm doing, but I like it.

I think you've struck gold with how fun the game feels. I'm not sure what exactly I'm doing but I just keep going and it feels great! Also great music and text messages

Developer

Thank you so much! We spent a long time on the game feel, I'm glad it shows :D

Thanks! That was a planned feature, but unfortunately we ran out of time to make it work. Definitely something we'd add going forward.

I've never had more fun rolling around and playing a game incorrectly. 10/10

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words. Always remember there's no incorrect way to be a dude <3

I really enjoyed this game. You were able to build an entire world in just 4 days! Also, the gimmick was very fun and interesting.

Developer

Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed, we appreciate the feedback!

Damn, this is amazing. Best game so far

This comment melts my heart, dude. Thanks for playing!
