Connect Four, Tic-Tac-Toe, AND Nonogram in a single game! My mind is officially blown! ๐Ÿคฏ

(+1)

love this game! super big fan of nonograms and love the idea of speedrunning them!

Submitted(+1)

Game play was very fun, definitely felt the hype. One suggestion would be to make the AI adaptive because I destroyed it on my first try. Great job overall!

Submitted(+1)

Nice idea of a game within a game within a game. I liked that the AI is on the move behind the scenes. I took a long time on a nonogram game because I was AFK and then when I returned the AI got like 3 boxes on the tic-tac-toe and I was like what?! I though it would wait for my input but that's not the case. Quite fun.

Developer(+1)

My sister and I like to solve nonograms as fast as possible - the idea of "speedrunning" a puzzle definitely influenced this game ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for playing!

We have like 50 board games to choose from, which do you want to play?
The Devs: Yes.

This was a really fun submission. Thank you for making it. This would be a pretty awesome multiplayer game.

Developer(+1)

My game is perhaps semi-autobiographical in that I may have been known to overcomplicate and add mechanics to board games as a child ๐Ÿ˜„

Submitted(+1)

Fantastic childhood it sounds like. "I see your checkmate and raise you a Draw 4. If you refuse, I also have a paintball gun which technically counts as a game."

Submitted(+1)

It's 3 games in one!! But once you figure it out, it becomes extremely easy... That may be the downside...

Streamed today!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for streaming it! I'm excited to check it out ๐Ÿ˜„

Submitted(+1)

Fantastic idea! I really like the "gameception" or games inside of a game. The game was on the easy side but for a game jam it's better to be more cautious as you can always add difficulty options later. I also like the little touches of the scrolling backgrounds when playing tic tac toe :)

Developer

There are difficulty settings in the options menu, if you wanted to try a little bit more of a challenge. I'm glad you like it! ๐Ÿ˜„

Submitted(+1)

Fun idea! The bot is a bit too easy but the concept could work super well as a PvP type thing

Developer(+1)

I may or may not be looking into a PvP option for post-jam ๐Ÿ‘€

Submitted(+1)

Love the idea... Nonograms tend to repeat themselves a bit making the game a bit too easy (which isn't always bad). Also love how you added customization options.

Submitted(+1)

Very fun game to play. Nonogram maybe repeat themself too much.

Submitted(+1)

This is such a stupid idea for a game, but it works SO DAMN WELL! The bot is pretty stupid, but even if there's not a whole lot of actual difficulty, racing against the clock is still pretty great. You should honestly add a timer and keep track of people's best times.

Developer

I considered adding different modes, a time attack mode being one of them, but I just ran out of time. There are some difficulty settings in the options menu if you want to try those, though. Thanks for playing! I'm glad you like it so well ๐Ÿ˜„

Submitted(+1)

I gave your bot a beatdown lol. I think adding a difficulty bar for your game would be exceptional for people who want to try hard versus not tho the bot is moving pretty fast I know some people really think they can beat a computer lol. Also, you may want to explain what a nonogram puzzle is before people start playing the game I still don't truly know but put the pieces together rather quickly! Overall very fun was not expecting an inception-type strategy game!

Developer(+1)

The options menu has a bunch of difficulty settings you can adjust, as well as links to how the different games are played ๐Ÿ™‚ I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

Nesting doll game is a cool idea

Submitted(+1)

Unfortunately I got the glitch on browser that other person mentioned where you can't see the connect 4 tokens, neither the nonogram squares getting colored. Besides that, the idea is super clever and I would play this for hours on end! Great job.

Developer

That's such a shame ๐Ÿ˜ข I think this is a bug that's new to me. What browser were you using? If you're willing, could you try the Windows build and see if the same thing occurs?

Submitted(+1)

Of course! I was using chrome on a MacBook when I got the bug. I tried later on chrome on a windows PC and the bug didn't happen! It didn't happen playing the downloaded windows build either.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for getting back to me! The other commenter said he was using Chrome on a Mac too - that's so bizarre, I didn't think OS would have much of an impact on a 2D web browser game! I'll add a note to my jam page. Hope you enjoyed the actual game!

Submitted

This seems so fun, but my game keeps glitching out so I can't see nonogram or connect 4 tokens which makes it pretty much unplayable which is really sad.

Developer

Hmm... I'm aware of a rarely occurring bug where it tries to zoom the camera out and in at the same time, getting it stuck like you describe, but I wasn't able to fix it before submission. I'm sorry to hear that it's happening more frequently than I thought ๐Ÿ˜”

Developer

What browser were you using? Another player reported a similar bug, but I don't think it's the one I'm thinking of

Submitted

Google Chrome. I'm also playing on mac if that matters.

Developer

Thanks for getting back to me! That's really odd: I tested using Brave (which uses Chromium, the same underlying codebase as Chrome). I hope I can figure out what's happening ๐Ÿค”

Developer

In case you're interested, another commenter mentioned that she was using Chrome on a Mac as well, so I think that combination just might not work for some reason. You can try another browser, or if you have access to a Window machine, that seems to be working as well (both web and download).

Thanks again for the bug report so I can warn others! I'll stop spamming you with replies now ๐Ÿ˜‰

Submitted(+1)

Very creative idea! I had a good time playing it :) this must be insane if you make it multiplayer hahah. Good job :)

Submitted(+1)

Wow, nice work. Really loved the usage of scale, good job!

Developer(+1)

I'm really glad that the use of the theme made sense to someone, because halfway through I was worried it wasn't related enough ๐Ÿ˜… Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

AMAZING game! Really well thought out. I can really see this becoming a full game!
You should make nonograms randomised because you can memorise the patterns

Submitted(+1)

This was SUPER clever!  It would have  been more enjoyable for me if I knew what a Nonogram was ๐Ÿ˜….  After the tutorial, when you see the game the AI is playing, it all of a sudden gave the game a sense of tension and thrill.  This was a lot of work for 96 hr jam!  Well done!

Developer

I hope you read the help link in the options! Nonograms are also known as Picross puzzles, so if you've ever played something like Mario Picross, it's the same thing ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Very well executed with a well thought out mechanics and a good level of customisation with the AI speed and skill. The only thing I would add is more variety in the nonograms as I think I played some several times, but overall it was very good.

Developer

This is one thing I definitely wish I could have gotten to - randomly generated puzzles (and puzzles slightly bigger than 4x4) would have made the nonograms much more interesting. There's only 20 puzzles, and when you get 9 per tic-tac-toe board, that's definitely gonna lead to a lot of repeats! Thanks for playing!
