Nice take on the size platformer idea! it had interesting puzzle, I liked the mechanics! Congratulation on making this!

Developer

Thank you!

i simply loved this, almost forgot to rate the game because i added it to my collection of favorites as soon as i scaled the mountain. good puzzles that occasionally had me stumped but knowing i had the tools to figure it out. i especially loved flinging myself into the crystals and getting smaller in the air.

tightly designed, beautiful art, dynamic music, absolute 5 star game jam game. good work y'all.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much. Im so happy you enjoyed it.

Developer(+1)

Love to hear that it landed well!

Mechanics were simple and made for some solid puzzles, not too difficult and the challenge ramped well. Sometimes the gems were too small and I didn't see them, and sometimes a switch would activate something off screen and I didn't realize it. But this was a GOOD puzzle game, like it actually had puzzles, mechanics and the animations and sound effects were adding a lot to the game, VERY well done :)

Developer

Yeah the gems being too small is an issue that we need to address after the jam. They probably going to have an outline. Thanks a lot for the feedback. I know which switches you are talking about, I wasnt sure how to place the camera the best in these areas. I have to think about it how to signal it better, even when its offscreen. Also, thank you very much :D

Cool puzzles and artstyle, enjoyed the game.

Well done!

Cool entry! lots of content for a jam!

The only thing i think could ve been better are the crystalas. I would like to them to be easier to see and to be more clear about the size they will turn you to

But i really liked it :)

Developer

Totally agree. They will get the outline treatment for better visibility post jam. Happy that you enjoyed it :D

I had fun playing this! The puzzles are well made. I did have a little trouble with the last one though (I too mistook the lever at the bottom to have functionality besides being a reset switch) but I pulled through somehow. Visuals and SFX are pretty good and complement each other. I really liked how the keys worked!

I only have three suggestions:

  • the gems need to be more contrasted from the background as it was easy to miss the really tiny ones.
  • the jump felt a bit too floaty above a certain height.
  • maybe stacking another mechanic would give more complexity to the puzzles, but perhaps that’s just something to consider if you ever extend this in the future.
Developer

oh yeah we're definitely adding an outline to the crystals soon

I just love the colors and the artstyle, the player sprite is so cute! and so well animated. i also like how when the size changes the players sounds pitch also change which is such a good addition to the game!

i suck at this so i wasnt able to get past the size matters level but oh my god this game is so good, no bugs no nothing so well done Good job i have no nitpicks

Developer(+1)

surprisingly not the first person to tell me they didn't get to the end of the game

glad you enjoyed it anyways!!

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it. Could you maybe tell me where your problem was in Size Matters? That way I can try to avoid the same design mistakes in the future and maybe correct it a bit more.

Submitted

it really could just be me, but when it comes to the part on the lower left corner, when you become small you cant jump high enough to get the switch i tried going around and finding another way but couldn't think of something else. prob just a skill issue

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Ah no, that switch on the bottom left is for resetting the state of the lever in case players fall down when trying to platform above. It somewhat of a softlock prevention/reset for the puzzle in case you fail and fall down but probably poorly telegraphed. I probably have to rethink on how to approach it.

oh! omg i wanna try again keeping that in mind, (ill leave a comment if i have a comment) i genuinely think its just me not processing stuff well haven't slept much. it being a just incase thing on its own means there's good level design here.
seriously i hope this game shows up in the vid it deserves it as its very polished and implements the theme very well.

Adorable and great game! 'Up and down' and 'wrap your head around this'  were my favourite levels.
I also loved the aesthetics of the game, and minor details such as how there is a  slight difference between sound effects whenever you scale up or down. Also Music was great for this!

One little feedback is that the background for the cave levels makes the gems a little harder to see if you don't know where they are, but nonetheless very polished.  Great game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. Perhaps we could use an outline for the gems to make it more visible in the future. We'll think of something.

Also glad you enjoyed it. I also love the variations a lot. Its so much fun.

I had so much fun, great level design

Developer

Love to hear it!

Super cute, super fun! I did have a bit of a tough time at the start because I didn't realize you had jump cutting. But that's on me I suppose. I love a platformer that also has puzzle-vibes and mechanics. Great work - I'm excited to hear you're going to work more on it post jam! :)

Submitted(+3)

Well, this is an interesting puzzle platformer. I love the core mechanic with size shifting, and all the tricks that you utilize on the levels, but some of the levels feel a bit overcomplicated. Overall, I like the variety of levels and the size of the game in general. Great work!

Submitted(+3)

Great level design! I loved how organic the puzzles felt -- I never felt like I had to look too hard for the next step, and little QoL things like the crystals changing color and the keys flying to the doors they unlocked did a great job at being visually clear. Plus, it looks and sounds nice!

Submitted(+1)

Awesome puzzles that had me stumped for a while. Got to the end though! :D Really enjoyed this. It felt polished to play and the flying keys were really cool :D

Developer

Every time multiple flying keys were released when playing the game I was always so excited, its so much fun. Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed it.

Submitted(+2)

Great level design and aesthetics!

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

This is an amazing little platformer which not only utilizes it's main mechanic of a shifting player size to great effect, but also holds a good amount of content and polish considering the time frame this was made in. Well done.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you very much. We tried our very best to make this game as much fun as possible in the time we had.

Submitted(+2)

Really not my genre but I enjoyed it anyways. Feels polished besides a one time i got stuck under a platform while scaling. The level design is challenging enough that you dont just run through them but not to hard to get me stuck.
Also very cute audio and visual design.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try even when its not a genre you usually play. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Do you happen to remember where you got stuck? Once the jam is over, I will attempt to fix that spot then.

Submitted

ah sorry i dont remember the exact spot but I know it was a upscale "pickup" and right next to it on the right side was a pathway that should only be accesable when you are small. iI dropped down small and kinda slipped under there while scaling up.

Developer

Ah I think I know which one you are talking about. Im writing it down on my list of issues that needs to be tackled.

Submitted(+1)

super polished, love the sounds and overall vibe

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Submitted(+2)

Really good game, it's polished as hell, amazing job, I hade to redo the final level twice because i went past the trophy and accidentally fell into the abyss of the game. But it was super fun, good job !

Developer

Haha that is unfortunate. In hindsight I should have probably blocked off that side of the mountain or teleport the player back. Thank you very much and I am happy to hear that you enjoyed it.

Submitted(+2)

My gosh this impressed me. I love the little shrinking sound, the puzzles are great, the idea and execution was well implemented. Nice work.

Developer

Oh yeah the juice is amazing! I love it myself a lot as well. For me the final jump of the last puzzle is what always gets me sound wise. Thank you very much, Im happy we managed to impress you :D
