Simple, calm, and slow platforming. I really enjoyed it!
really cool game, i liked the atmosphere and the selection of music was spot on!
I managed to noclip once, and there was no backrooms unfortunately :C really cool game though, and interseting lore !
Nice game! The ability to spawn more blocks combined with the scaling mechanic was an interesting combination. I think there's a lot more potential for these mechanics that wasn't explored much in this game, but I enjoyed the levels that are there. The story element with the text initially being scrambled was interesting too!
A fun, clean puzzle game! I was also craving the little expand up while I'm on the block mechanic tho lol
Thanks for the feedback!
There was a good reason for me disableing this, I think. Can't remember what it was tho :D
This was pretty enjoyable! I really like how you themed it. It gave me Nier Automata vibes, with the encrypted text and discussion of humanity. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the story :)
Great game, good take on the theme, and a really unique interesting execution. It's very rare you see a story in gamejam games, so good work! More details:
Presentation: Lovely consistent art style, with good music and sound effects. Text never got in the way, and was a fun addition. Small bug: he animation of copying yourself doesn't keep playing if you hold e to make multiple copies, but that was from before I figured out scaling properly.
Mechanics: Good platformer mechanics! Only complaint was I felt like I should've been able to expand the blocks underneath me and get pushed up, but that's really a physics limitation.
One more note: I wasn't sure on the rerun of the puzzles, it was fun seeing the story, but would've been cool to add something - maybe you're being chased the second time?
Overall, incredible work for a first solo jam, even better that you did it in 48 hours! I would absolutely play more levels of this!!
Thanks for the great feedback.
I also noticed that the copy animation did not loop, which was an oversight. The reason for this was that up until the last hour before the Jam ended, you would respawn when you made a copy. However, from some playtesting and feedback here on itch, I implemented it so that you would stay in place when making a copy. This is better, but the animation did not get updated. :)
I would have loved to put some more stuff in the second run-through, but I had to juggle the few hours I had available for the jam. The story was born from the simple art style and me just having the levels loop when playtesting.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!
I really enjoyed this, dude. The ideia is super cool, the mechanics are well developed, and the simplicity of shapes for visuals is pretty well thought out. A bug happened and I could not extend any of my shapes at the end :'). Thankfully, I was able to complete it. I really like what you did with the story too, the conversations really add to the mistery once you realize you are repeating the stages.
Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for playing the game!
Yeah, the game can be buggy because of the way I implemented the boundary check for the boxes. But their appearance is not too frequent, so I figured they could stay as they are.
I love how a little mystery and some glitched out text can elevate a simple concept and make the same set of level repayable.
Well done!
Really executed well on the design and simplistic art style. For this being your first solo game jam its a pretty cool one at that. It just feels super clean and I love it. Amazing work!
It's very easy to understand and a nice concept! Good job
Beautiful scaling of blocks and very fun / smooth mechanics! I had a lot of fun
Maybe I was dealing with bugs, but the text was all garbled (if that's a stylistic choice, it didn't work for me) and controls seemed all over the place. Couldn't play it for more than a few levels before getting fed up with the mechanics and controls
Chill and polished game!
Nice music and pleasant game loop!
You can add some squashes on jump to make it extra pretty!
And why it says WASD when you just use A + D + SPACE. No love for W jump.
Thanks,
Oh, you are right! It is no W jump ! woops..
Sorry, did it cost you a life? '-_-
Nah, I was fine :)
The mechanics and controls are easy to pick so there was no issue during the game!
Calme and smooth game, concept funny and very to undrestand, I like it :)
If you like clicker and the hobbit, come here :)
Interesting concept, good fit for the theme!
The game mechanic has potential but the game doesn't test the player in any way.
Pretty cool for your first game jam!
I liked it. Not sure why on the first playthrough all the text is jumbled, then on a second it's all plain. I'm not sure if you were supposed to be able to grow blocks vertically, but holding down the button to just grow blocks was a little slow.
Music and SFX were very nice!
very interesting game! it was a bit annoying having to start from the beginning every time I made a new block, but I liked the concept!
Thanks for your feedback, actually fixed this, now you stay where you spawn blocks just before the Jam ended.
Thanks for making the fix so quickly, so much better now!
