I agree with most of the comments, the countdown timer needs to visible always to plan your path. Food should be a little bit more randomly placed. Those where some of my problems with it but overall I think yo have a good concept and foundation to build something really cool, good job.
I would really appreciate it if you checked out my game :)

I think you have the foundation of a really cool game here, there's a few minor things that detract from the experience in my opinion: The countdown timer needs to follow the player so you know how much time you have left. It would also be nice to have your total amount next to what you are currently holding so you know how much to get to unlock a certain upgrade. There's not really any reason to explore the whole world since all the resources respawn every time you come out of the monster. I liked the art style and I think the controls and camera and mechanics were all really solid and well polished. Great job!
Wow, really cool idea! I agree with previous comments, that I would've found it better to have the countdown timer integrated to the UI - personally I would even feel, that this would help your intention to create more stress, because I would always try to gather as much resources as possible now and come back at the last possible second. Now I'd rather return early and safely, since there is no penalty for that. I was also surprised to see that upgrades don't carry over the levels. All in all I feel this is a very unique and cool idea, which could be elevated by a few tweaks in game- and leveldesign. Great work, especially considering 48 hrs. Congrats! :)
Cool idea, and a fun gameplay loop!
It would've been super useful to have a timer in the UI so I could see how much time I had left before the monster got too hungry, without having to run all the way back. I also got a bug where I went into gap, ate some food and then got too big to come back out and got stuck!
Overall, really enjoyed it!
Really fun idea with great execution! Loved the simple gameplay loop and the music was really cute. The upgrade system was reminiscent of roblox tycoon games that I used to play a lot, which was a fun little bit of nostalgia too.
I think I'd prefer it if the whole game was kept in 1 big level and you kept the upgrades you got throughout the whole thing, but the way it's actually been done with separating it into different levels is also very enjoyable! Good entry!
Surprisingly addictive. Great job on the sound and music design Thibaud!
Over time I started to enjoy the game. That being said, I felt bombarded by mechanics at the very beginning that weren't explained very well and left me a bit confused and frustrated for the first 3 minutes until I figured it out. I think an easy tutorial level would have helped ease players into the gameplay loop. I also think that the timer might be better as a screen space UI element, having it be world space is pretty challenging especially in the beginning.
There is potential here!
Really enjoyed playing that had a really good game play loop. Well done!
I enjoyed this a lot. Having to make sure I wasn't too big or too small to get into/out of various area's mad the game pretty interesting. Great job!
I didn't realized that we *also* grow as we collect food (or rather... how fast we were growing)... and got stuck in that little triangular room above the start in level 2.
Fun little game :)
Oh there's definitely potential here! It's a steep learning curve, but quite fun :) Great work!
I liked feeding the beast. Falling into the void destroyed my ears. Worth every minute.
Reminded me of Johnny Upgrade, I had alot of fun playing a pretty unique idea and excecution
Great game. It turns into a pretty good puzzle game when you start trying to minimize how many runs you do. I was trying to find best routes for a while. Good Job.
Really solid gameplay loop! Always having that looming threat of the timer while wanting to go just that bit further works super well, and I'd definitely love to see how this idea could be expanded on!
