The scaling while defending theme feels fun and I am kinda scared of spiders so the panic feeling is apparent during my game run. Nice feedback on the effects and sound design. Good job on this game! :)
Sorry to make you feel panic :D and thank you for playing :)
The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay loop is fun. I wish it was a little bit faster and better optimized as enemies seemed to not attack nor move and were quite trivial to defeat. But overall its a really polished game for such a short time.
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
Nice concept, I liked the gun shots, they create a nice feedback
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
I liked the Shooting and the VFX in this one! The game was most fun when it got hectic with more pests as you got a bunch of crops on the go - but it'd be cool if it got there a bit faster. The first crop I picked was a sunflower which took a while to grow and I think only a couple of enemies spawned so it felt a little slow paced at first.
I'd have also loved some indication of where the enemies were to help me defend better, but I think the idea has a lot of potential - I could imagine buying different weapons or upgrades as time goes on if you had a little more time to develop it. Well done!
I am glad you like it :) definitely there is some balancing to do and maybe some better introduction so players starts with cheaper plants. And yeah I wanted to add some indication of enemies but all I have time for was to make some VFX and sound when they spawn so the spawn is at least little noticeable. Anyway I am planning to fix that in post game jam updates :)
Cool stuff, hadn't played this kind of game in a while.
I especially like the game feel, feedback on actions via sounds and VFX is on point!
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
Hello, composer from the game "Crescendo" here! I thought it was an interesting idea to mix a farming game with a defense game that has huge crops and rodents/insects. I really liked the animations and art style in this game and found the music to be quite engaging as well. I started off with just the sun flowers and found the game pretty chill, but then as I bought the cheaper crops in quantity, I soon regretted it as so many enemies spawned haha. I'd love to see a post jam version of this game! It'd probably be easier on the players if we could see some sort of signal that says where enemies are, but other than that, I really enjoyed the game!
I am glad you like it :) Definitely I am planning to make some updates after game jam ends - to fix some bugs and add some features I wanted to have there but didn't managed to implement in time.
Sadly my computer seems unable to keep up with the game. So I feel it would be wrong for me to give a review of it as it's really unplayable on my side. The artstyle looks really nice and the ideas on paper seem pretty in depth! I hope past the jam a less hungry build will be playable, I'd love to try it out!
I am sorry to hear that :/ After end of the rating period I will try make some update to optimize it :)
The art style is amazing. The sound effects are also on point. Overall, I enjoyed the game, but had a problem with shooting - sometimes, even though I pointed at the enemy, it didn't get hit. Also, the rats were just standing doing nothing for some reason. All in all, it is a really cool game with awesome art style.
I am glad you like it :) I noticed of that shooting issue like hour before deadline so I didn't managed to fix it :/ But thanks for playing :)
Had fun playing the game, but at some point, it just started to feel a little repetitive. Eventually, my pc just gave up. Still, had fun while it lasted. (and don't worry, it probably wasn't your game that caused my pc to freeze, it could be any of the 100+ Google tabs I had open at the time)
I am glad you like it :) I wanted to add some upgrades/shop to make it more interesting later in the game, but I didn't have enough time :)
Really nice art style was picked, it enhances the game well, we really enjoyed running around and shooting stuff!
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
Interesting little game, I had fun playing it for a while. Though, I wasn't sure why I would want or need to plant crops and get money
I am glad you like it, I was trying to add some goal but nothing fit it without big added complexity :/
The animations are a bit janky but I can understand that since it was made in just 4 days. Other than that the game feels really polished and juicy. I feel bad for the farmer, he probably wanted to lead a peacefull life and suddenly some giant spiders started attacking... Anyways, I definitely had fun playing this one, good job!
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
It wasn't very clear at first that I had to move to the right to plant crops, but afterwards it was fun!
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
Very fun game, I like the character movement and the game feel!!
Thank you, I am glad you like it :)
really enjoyed your game, the jumping i don't know if you really need it, you could make that when enemies eat your plant the plant gets smaller.
I am glad you like it :) that is actually good idea, too bad I didn't think of that :D
Nice experience, could incorporate the theme a bit more :)
Ahh the pumpkins have an extra 5 gold, tax... You can't fool the government!
Also the gun is a bit offset it seem making it hard to hit enemies further away.
Thank you, I am glad you like it :) I noticed of the gun problem but that was like 30 min before deadline - so I didnt managed to fix it :/
I like the style for this game and it feels polished. I think it would be more engaging if the grow times were reduced or if enemies spawned more often as it was fun shooting them!
Interesting design choice that your worst enemies are not the enemy NPCs, but yourself and the y-axis. Pretty slow going in general, I think both the enemy spawn rate and growth times could easily be doubled or tripled, though you might have to implement weapon upgrades too.
The shooting experience is solid.
A slow begining (2 minutes for sunflowers should not be possible as a first interaction) but a solid game taht's good fun.
Originally I expected the carrots for start, but I guess I should balance it better so you cannot start with the hard crop :) Thanks, for playing :)
Polished game. Works great. Not hugely innovative but very impressive finish in the time frame. Was entertaining for a fair bit but gets a bit repetitive with time.
Thanks, I wanted to add more features, but I ran out of time. :) Anyway thanks for playing!
