As someone who really enjoyed playing Jusant I loved this game! Its simple yet effective and I really enjoyed the music!

Submitted(+1)

Love this! super satisfying movement and I thoroughly enjoyed the ramping challenge up to the overhang section right before the summit. One improvement I'd like to see is that it currently takes two clicks to picking up ice pick and then re-insert it into a new block if its already on a different block, which led to a lot of frantic double clicking when I was trying to quickly climb. Consider just making it one click to both remove and reinsert your ice pick if you have a valid target? that might make the controls even more satisfying. I had a lot of fun climbing to the top of the mountain and I think you did a great job!

Simple but satisfying in a visceral way. GGs

The music and visual match so well for this! Well done!

Great music and a very creative approach on the theme! The controls were very satisfying.

Loved the artstyle and the gameplay!!

Also, I didn't thought about the theme that way... I think nobody did!

Great job quinntrex!!! :)

Thank you!

Awesome art and gameplay, super well done and the controls are really clever. Nice job!

Very cool game. I like how when you pass the tutorial it's like ok you did great now time to scale a lethally high mountain with no safety equipment!

Submitted(+1)

Really really neat.

The game really nail the climbing. It is hard and you need to plan your route. Excellent.

I needed some time to get use to the controls. Somehow I wanted to hold the mouse button to hold my grip and that was screwing up my timings.

But overall I really had a blast. I will return to the game to finish it later on.

Very nice game! Loved the gritty graphics and the main mechanic was both fun and intuitive! Great job!

Submitted(+1)

I loved playing the game. The mechanic is really well done. I've never seen an ice-climbing game before so it was fun especially that I'm also a climber (never climbed on ice tho). I'd love to see that mechanic used in a game where you climb huge mountains like Everest. I got to the top, and enjoyed the view as the message suggested :)

Really liked this one! the climbing mechanics are really well done. I think the 3D pixel look was a good choice! I also like the thud and blackout when you fall.

Submitted(+1)

Really really cool! Love the pixelated look and the snow falling is simple but gorgeous! I did encounter a bug where I died as soon as I respawned a few times, but eventually it worked itself out so it wasn't really an issue. It was quite rewarding to be able to look down and see the progress that was made. The part after the checkpoint in the cave (which I loved btw) was a bit difficult to plan with low visibility which made for a difficult challenge :) I really enjoyed the methodical approach I needed to take to figure out a way up.

I think the one thing I would add as a quality of life thing might be an indicator that tells you what pick(s) you have available, cause sometimes in the heat of the moment (or should I say Frost of the moment) I found myself forgetting which one I just placed and I would be sent tumbling down the icy chasm I just worked so hard to climb.

All in all, I loved this great work!

And P.S. Im on a laptop with a trackpad instead of a mouse so it was an insane challenge, but definitely a fun one :D

Developer(+1)

I can't imagine playing this on a trackpad... That must have been super difficult. Thanks for the feedback!

That was really fun! The physics are a bit iffy at times, but the movement is engaging and responsive; getting faster and more confident with each attempt was rewarding. It was also quite stimulating figuring out my next steps to make it up the cliff. I was also pleasantly surprised that stamina regenerates while on the climb.

One problem I noticed is that the timer for deactivating the hooks on the snow traps doesn't stop when you connect with ice. If you connect with a snow trap, and then quickly disconnect and reconnect to an ice patch, the hook will detach automatically after the timer has elapsed.

Volume controls are much appreciated, but the default volume is a bit loud; it regularly peaks the audio above +0.0 dB. I once recorded a peak of +2.2 dB!

[[Sometimes, when I didn't move my mouse, my facing would start to drift to the right. I haven't been having that problem with my mouse, so there might be something weird with the input.]] [EDIT: 8-20]: I am retracting this statement. This appears to be a Firefox related problem with Unity WebGL that doesn't happen on Chrome. I apologize.

While the stamina mechanic was intuitive and well-thought out, there could be a clearer indication of when the stamina meter is full enough to jump.

All-in-all, it felt great getting to the top. Fantastic! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the feedback! I was wondering why sometimes you'd fall on the blue ice.  Also good to know about the volume. Thanks again!

Good evening! I am making an addendum to my original comment. I finally figured out that the "mouse drifting right" problem only happens when I play Unity WebGL games that use cursor lock specifically on Firefox, and it does not happen on Chrome. It has nothing to do with your game specifically. I apologize for the misinformation.

Developer(+1)

That's totally fine. Thanks for letting me know!

This is so rad. Controlling a pick with each mouse button feels fun and having places where you are allowed to be still and plan and places where you have to be active is such a fun mechanic too.

Developer(+1)

Glad you liked it :)

Submitted(+2)

I really like trying to plan my way up when at the bottom and then still failing. This is fun.

Submitted(+1)

Not easy to switch between right and left ice axe just with the mouse. Challenging but rewarding! Nicely done!
