I played through for all 5 fractions to see each ending, the animation for each was so cool! I think the actual gameplay could have done with something extra, maybe people who place themselves and you have to work around them?

Developer

We floated this idea but, as it often is in the jam setting, we ran out of time. Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed our work.

Amazing. Fish eats world. What more could you possibly want?

Developer(+1)

Nothing. Just...

... fish. ♥

Submitted(+1)

Nice. I made the fish eat the world!

The game was fairly simple, though I enjoyed strategizing the placements.

I think the game has potential, it was lacking some extra juice: What if placing certain people next to other certain people would trigger some action? for instance fish next to robed people would cause the fish to eat the robed people (just a random wild idea).

Point is, there could be more interesting mechanics to juice it up a bit.

Style was also great, and the music was good. Well done.

Thanks for the feedback! ♥ These are really good ideas, I think if we spent more time on this game something like this could be included!

Loved the take on the theme and the art style. Vibe was just right. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! ♥

duuuude we have the same game name ahah : https://coolofdead.itch.io/dooms-day
but the gameplay is sooo different LMAO being eaten by a giant fish was a good twist ahah (i might add it to my end game)

Noo don't steal our fish please! We need it!

(I have to add some ♥ somewhere because without it my comment seems to be incomplete and not mine)

Submitted(+1)

LMAO appreciate the ♥ (i promise i wont steal your fish.. for now..)

Developer(+1)

Damn it... but at least our fish is safe for a while...

That's a pretty interesting concept! A bit easy once you figure out you can just create a line of unwanted cult and stack yourpeople together but it's a jam after all! The graphics are very great as well! :)

Thanks for the feedback! ♥

Cool game with interesting premise. In the first run I won although I didn't really know how the game works, but on second it was clear.  I didn't see any similar games in this game jam. Pretty creative. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! ♥

A cool game with nicely animated endings. I also liked the graphics. Although, I do agree with some others that the tutorial may be difficult to understand. I mainly understood what to do after my second to third run. Overall, a nicely put game.

Cool game and vibe! Love all the different cultures. I agree that the tutorial was a bit hard to understand, but I understood it enough to play.

Balance-wise, I was able to cheese a win by just putting anyone not in my cult in one big line. Might be interesting to try to combat that strategy (maybe other cutlists can get suspicious? or building deep has a price?)

Developer

These are some pretty interesting ideas, thanks for the feedback!

Interesting game. I was able to beat it at day 10 with 89 people! I think it had a really interesting vibe and the gameplay was pretty fun when I got the hang of it. It's pretty fun to strategize how to get the people of the same group together without blocking the others. The main thing that I would say it needs is some polishing.

For example the tutorial slide at the beginning only used pictures and not text, which is kind of a double edged sword in terms of communicating stuff. I ended up confused and not clearly understanding the mechanics until I jumped in the game and got context by placing a couple rooms, but from there I was ok and understood how it worked. Additionally in the bunker scene it's hard to tell at first what the boundaries are (only 3 rooms wide but it looks like more could be fit) because the same dirt texture is used, which again confused me until I placed a couple of rooms. The queue cam was probably the most important thing to have and I was glad to see it was there because it was super helpful!

Strange game, horrific atmosphere. Maybe it is a horror game.

I liked the fun artstyle and theme. The tutorial was hard to understand but I figured the gameplay out after a bit :)

Really cool that you managed to make 5 different factions with 5 different endings! Naturally I sided with the fish people :D The game did not really pose a challenge but was still enjoyable thanks to the nice pixel art and humor! Nice job!

Developer

They're cool, thanks

A simple game, but an enjoyable one. Nice graphics although I am not a fan of mixels. With a little bit of complexity
(after I found out you can just make one column of your faction and always win it got a little boring) this would be a great phone game.
Nonetheless, really good work. (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

I gotta say i like the concept, still trying to find a winning strategy, but i will get there! Oh and the Thumbnail is so damn good, catched me!

Developer

Thank you so much! ♥

Simple concept packaged neatly. The different end game flavours are good, as well as the theming in general. As others have already said, tutorial is not super understandable, but I worked it out - maybe put a text version in the description of the game.

My winning strategy ended up just making a pillar of my dudes on one side, and mixing the other dudes in the other two columns.

Developer

If you came up with a strategy that means you engaged with the mechanics and that means a lot to us. Thanks for playing.

Cool game! I like the flavor that it has!! One note on the page with visual instructions: if you read the page as left to right rather than like two pages, it gives you directly wrong instructions (which tripped me up at first haha!) Other than that though, fun game :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the game ♥ As for the boards, I didn’t pay attention to it until you pointed it out, but I see how it can actually be a bit confusing!

Interesting....

Love the quirky atmosphere and style. However, the game-play feels a little monotonous. Other than that, nice work! :)

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you like our quirkiness! ♥

It's a nice idea, but i think it lacks a bit of depth. Some dialogues or text popups from the factions would have helped the atmosphere for me. (It would mean a lot if you would rate my game if you have the time)

Developer

Thanks! ♥
