i solved the legendary maze.
Average grandson experience. can confirm. 10/10
Really cool entry. lots of content and very well presented :)
I must say I got a little frustrated with all the chores, but I played through the end and it was so worth it. Also, the fact that it got frustrating was very fitting with doing chores in real life. great work!
Thanks for all your help and struggles shopping for grandma! I'm sure she was very happy. o7
haha, really nice one, I enjoyed finishing it, nice ending. I also visited the backrooms :) Well done
Woah! This game has a ton of content, especially for a game jam game. Super impressive! The story was really interesting and kept me playing. Great soundtrack too, had to turn up my volume for this one. Great job!
I don't know what demon possesed you to make this game, but I'm so glad it did! The music is the best part IMO, it's just so happy it never stops being funny.
Holy shit I can't believe you made this game in only 96 hours??? This game truly does scale in absurdity in the best way. The writing was fantastic and the mechanics were fun and varied. It took me a little while to realize that "shaking chickens" meant grabbing one and dragging it to the edge of the fence but getting eggs that way is absolutely hilarious. Love that the NPCs and the shopping list and the oblivious player character's ramblings all sketch out a story without ever actually spelling it out. 10/10 would inflict on all my friends.
It was a true grind, those 96 hours. I'm glad you saw the vision we had for the absurdity too; we had a pretty fun brainstorming session, but there were also more ideas we had to scrap for time. It did seem to take people a while to figure out the chicken game, so we'll work on being clearer, but it's great that you liked our writing too. Thanks for playing our game, and we'd be grateful if more friends came to help their grandmas shop!
Lovely game ! I really enjoyed all of the storytelling, the plot twits and the number of mini games you managed to put in there !! If I had to nitpick : the digging mini game was a bit tedious because of how slow the shovel's animation is. And I didn't see the text left by grandma on the shopping list right away because it's so washed out and the contrast with the background color isn't great. But I played a second time just to get to read it. Had a lot of fun !
Thanks so much for playing and for the comment! I'm so glad you had fun with the story and mini games (and even played it twice for the full experience O.o). Also, thanks for the critiques; we'll make sure to keep in mind animation speeds and text contrast next time.
man, this game is amazing. at the start, i was thinking to myself "wow, this is a cute little game", but it was genuinely really funny and dark near the end. (10/10)
music was perfect for the game! fun story/game and strange shopping lists for sure!
music is well made in this game! shows the level of talent put into this
very nice game! really fun the history telling! keep the good work!
Glad you had fun shopping for Grandma!
Things that surprised me:
Violently shaking the eggs out of chickens
Naked closet man... possibly grandpa
Grandma needing Chloroform and H2O2 for the basement
Meat tasting... "unusual"
Needing gasoline for her flower garden
Naked grandpa seeing air
Grandma being worried about a "dirt pile"
The literal backrooms
Naked Grandpa returns... with a gun!
I am not cut out to be a manure farmer
Super Saiyan Grandma
Below is a photo of pain and suffering
Your Grandma doesn't do the same? Thank you for playing! (And yes those cows are smth else)
This is such a fun short game. I loved the slow build up of the story throught the shopping lists and the end of day comments. [Spoilers ahead I guess?] I lost it when grandma entered a second phase. Nice work!
Ngl, the second phase was my favorite part of the game, and I'm glad you seemed to enjoy it as well. Thanks for playing and commenting!
Had to play to the end to get that full story! Lots of fun and enjoyable! I don’t know if it fits the theme but overall, very fun to play!
Thank you for helping Grandma! We're glad you had fun :)
Great game! I especially loved the progression and scaling of the story. The art was also clean as well as the minigame mechanics.
Omg I enjoyed that a lot! Played the whole thing! Congrats on getting so many different minigames in there!
I especially loved the way the narrative was told through the shopping list elements. Also I found the secret room in the store! That was fun!
Thanks for playing the whole thing! It was hard for us to get the minigames in, and some had to be scrapped :(, but it was nice to be able to work on them separately before combining them to the actual game.
Also, congratulations! I'm glad you found the secret room and enjoyed the maze level.
Im kinda confused on how this fits the theme but. I can safely say that the art and gameplay is really good in this.
Love it, but during the week with the longest list i wanted to die because of the digging mechanic.
Thanks for playing our game! Designing week 8 was very fun (you're welcome :) ), and we were definitely wondering how far we can push it and maintain being playable, so I'm glad it was met with good reciprocation.
That rope mechanic seems like a hassle to program! Very neat game, fun concept :)
I didn't program the rope, but I did hear a lot of complaints from it lol. Thank you very much for playing our game, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
