How does your game fit the theme?
First of all you can inspect evidence with a magnifing glass *Spoiler* but the case also scales up into a bigger plot.

Really cool game, reminds me of the days I played stuff like the Chzo Mythos. The mechanic where you can show people random pictures of stuff from previous cases was really enjoyable! Only complaint was that it was a bit difficult to figure out where each piece of evidence was (took me awhile to find that both the wallet and the first knife exist). Eventually I had to use your guide and got ending 4/4. Outside of that, I loved the presentation a lot!
You don't actually need every item to complete the cases. Thee minimum is 3 good pieces of evidence, so the game was created to allow you to only find a few items and ask some questions to still complete the case.
Very moody, liked the tone a lot!
An amazing piece, especially considering it was made in a jam! Full of noir-detective armosphere, with each detail being highlighted and described. I enjoyed the dramatic storytelling, and solving the cases was quite fun!
Absolutely amazing game, probably the best I've played yet. You guys crammed so much into it that I can't quite believe it was made in just 4 days.
*Spoilers below*
Now I might just be a little dumb, but putting Unknown Assailant as the default option really did not make it seem like that was a pickable option. Even when I got to the third case and it was obvious that I had gotten the first two wrong, I think it would have still taken me a while to figure out how to move on without accusing one of the people on scene if I hadn't used the cheat sheet.
On the plus side that did mean that I ended seeing two endings, though.
*Spolers*
No that was intentional the unknown assailant was to be the default option you pick. But it also is the deafult option so you would pay less attention. The other people on the crime scene you can accuse are ment to be there to seam at least to have some conections you would possibly make if you don't pay attention. As time goes on you are ment to realize that picking anyone is the wrong choice so the cases start pointing more and more away from the on scene suspects.

Im digging those kinds of atmospheric games!
I really love detective and horror games with puns and this was great. I'd suggest some sort of gameplay UI and Better UX. Sometimes you don't know what you're supposed to do and it messes with the gameplay a bit. camera is great but it sometimes suddenly shifts position too quickly.
Overall an amazing Narrative driven game and a good art style to boot
The pixel art, music, and atmosphere are all amazing. The game was just really fun!
However, I was stuck for a few minutes because I didn't know you could click around to search for evidence. Would be nice if there was an indicator.
yeah I guess I could have pointed more to this beaing a point'n clicm
Took me a bit to realize that space is used to continue dialog
Idk if its me or the game but it felt laggy moving
Some basic prompts for answering and open door could be good, and to have the controls preincluded in the game
i did like the art style
when chatting with a npc clicking mouse to skip would also be helpful
also its not super obvious that talking to ppl is only done in the lights zones (could have made the zones a bit bigger or placed them under the npc
camera around the bridge was a bit weird
one should be able to close the diles with esc
taking a photo is a bit weird
music was laggy (probably my device)
and didn't beat the level but while interesting no idea how it fits to the theme
I can't really answer most of the ones about control well maybe exept that you can quit the pause menu with esc it's just that you have to be in windowed mode because itches fullscreen takes priority otherwise. The game has lag spikes on browser that's why a windows build was provided for those who find these anoying. If it comes to the theme you could take it on the base value inspecting stuff makes it bigger but there are also story beats later on that are on theme
Love the style! One of my favorite games in the jam so far. I’m not usually a fan of detective style games (because I suck) but from what I’ve played, it’s really good!
Music is specially really jazzy. +1 for that :)
If you are not intrested in playing it later you can always grab the cheat sheet and play through the games story only.
First of all - absolutely love your style! the atmosphere, the musics, everything's sooo good! I am yet to finish the gameplay, will probably rate after. A couple QoL suggestions: I accidentaly skipped through the line while it was printing. Maybe on first spacebar click show the full line and on the next skip it? Also some visual indication that there is an interaction object would be nice, at least as an option for dummies like me :) Great job!
The short lines can sometimes be imidietly skiped but these are ussually stuff like onomatopoeias so they often are too short to give a good timing for skipping as they are over before you skip them, but most dialog can be either found in the character dialog transcript or replayed apart for monologues between the scenes. When it comes to interactions we were thinking about it but we did also realize that some stuff was to be picked up either acidity or after a dialog and coudn't find the time to add that as something that pops up only on some interactables but that would probably make the game more confusing to explain.
I see, thank you. Will try to finish it today :)
As a game writer who loves film noir, this was right down my alley. I must say, the atmosphere was IMMACULATE.
Two game writers on this side it was me on the monologues, phonecalls nd the endings, and skooma cat on the dialogs with npcs
Oh, fantastic!
Good style and really good music!
Thank our composser Arda for that beautifull chiptune score he did a great job fitting the atmosphere.
Congrats to him!
glad to hear you enjoyed it :]
It's very stylish and atmospheric. It's impressive that you managed to create such a detective game in a short amount of time!
We managed mostly thanks to lack of sleep and using as many stupid ways to save time as possible.
All of the possible evidences and endings are amazing! I enjoyed reading through every conversations. I mean you could have added some details for the magnifying glass considering that's your take on the theme. Overall, awesome work!
Thanks for playing and enjoying this little big expirience of ours
I wanted to add more magnifying glass related things, but i wanted to do it "after i finish 3rd case", needless to say i finished 3rd case around 5 minutes before the jam ended. That was an unfortunate time management on my part.
I really like detective games and so of course this was perfect for me
The content in this is insane considering you made this in 4 days
Very cool! Well done
It's super impressive that you guys managed to put this entire game together so quickly. The atmosphere is amazing thanks to the great art & music. I did get stuck trying to leave the bridge though... Any advice on how I can get out of there? I tried talking to Hank but he didn't seem to want to speak with me :
To talk with people you have to press the "W" key in the orange areas like when you talk over the phone, and to leave the bridge you need to compleate the form under the "S" key
Thanks for the quick response!
Wow, awesome entry! We loved the pixel art style and the color palette! Definitely saving this one in our collection of game jam gems!
Thanks actually the color pallet was just a monochrome shader shifted into the sepia color
Great aesthetic! I’m impressed that you were able to accomplish so much in 4 days!
Well crime never sleeps but neither do we
I really liked the art style of the Game and the Atmosphere it has. Putting the evidence together and solving a case was really fun and satisfying. The controls could use some work, but are ok as they are. Overall, the Game was really fun to play and had a surprising amount of content.
Thanks glad to hear you liked it
