How does your game fit the theme?
Our game follow the theme ‘built to scale’ as our character is scaled down to a very tiny size. Scale here is important as everything else seems bigger creating a new and different environment.

if you have issues with jumping and movement speed, we are implementing the following few things after the game jam ends, and you are welcome to test them:

  • A speedrun timer for each level
  • Coyote jump
  • The end screen for each level shows your time
  • A "next level" button
  • A better screen for death and an end screen with a darkened background and blur to see buttons better
  • More arrows so directions are more clear
  • Larger player character so the jumps and movement feel more natural

Beautiful, simplistic art. Very nice! Music is nice and mellow too. I like your use of theme and gameplay is fun. Well done!

Feel Free to try my game too, Tinker Escape. :)

Thanks

Very nice but i cant for the life of me beat the final level. Nice game.

Such a nice and polished game this is! I want to play more of this. Please review my game as this was my first ever game jam participation.

Thanks a bunch

Amazing game! I love the art style and the overall idea. I'm a big fan of platformers so I loved seeing a game like this.  The only thing that I think could make the game better, is that the background and things that you can interact with should be more distinguished so that the player can differentiate between them. Also the game is a bit un-forgiving to the player, I think maybe adding some coyote time, reducing the speed of the player and allowing player's progress to be reset when resetting the game, could go a long way in increasing the player's overall enjoyment. Other than that amazing game and I hope to see you again next year!

Developer

Thanks for your reply, I've added coyote jump, adjusted the movement a bit, and will implement this after the game jam

Cute art style!

My main problem is that the background and the interactable objects are indistinguishable, so I don't know where to jump or I get stopped mid-air by something I thought was in the background.

I also feel the jump is way too big, the guy jumps like half the screen and I don't know where I'll land.

Developer

I will try to add highlighting to the objects you can jump on in the next update

Really cool idea and fun levels, my little guy do be faasssttt haha. Can be hard to figure out what you can jump on and what not. Maybe you could highlight the top of the surfaces you can jump on top of with something or even just adding more arrows (especially in the first level when I didn't know I could jump through many items but stand on top of them) and after that the player can figure it out more freely? Idk I do also think it adds an interesting sort of puzzle element to this platformer which I did enjoy but idk if that was what you were going for :)

Developer

yes, I will add highlighting to objects you can jump on. Thanks for the comment

Fun little game, the closets and drawers maybe make it a bit more clear wich ones are jumpable and wich ones arent. Other then that good game!

Developer

I was thinking about it, but should I implement it? Can you give some ideas?

(+1)

Jump is to high plus a little coyote jump would be nice, overall I really enjoyed and would play again, good job

Developer

yes, I will try to add coyote jump after the game jam

Submitted(+1)

Fun and cute, but the little guy moved waay to fast for his size

Developer

I'll try to make him slower

Submitted(+1)

I liked the artstyle of this game. Its simple but cohesive and goes well with the sfx and music.

I have to agree with what others have said about the speed, its a bit fast. I actually think it could benefit from being slowed down and even a floatier jump. Additionally a consistent visual language for platforms. Sometimes I could jump on the drawer handles, other times I couldn't. Leads to a lot of guessing.

I also liked the wine puzzle in the second level, realizing I needed to push the glass felt rewarding. Well done!

Developer

I will try to make the jumps more clear

Fun little game with an interesting concept that definitely fits the theme well, despite there being no indication what platforms to stand on I made it to level 2 but not much further as I couldn't figure out where was safe or not. The sounds were relaxing and the to scale level elements were very fun and well put together :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment! I'll try to make the jumps more intuitive

Submitted(+2)

Movement is too fast, making it too easy to overshoot. There's no indication what to do, you have to kind of guess around, nor is there any visual indication if you can jump on certain platforms or not.

The music is nice and chill, and the levels are interesting, just wish you would add some indicators (points of interest) -> like adding a particle effect next to the object which you pushes to stop the water.

It's a decent game given the time-limit, so good job on making it! :D

Developer

I thought it was really intuitive to push the objects, as it was the only thing you could do. I also intended it to be like a puzzle game where you are suppose to figure it out yourself?

You can't predict what players will do, unless you guide them towards it, it's a nice idea to let players figure out things for themselves but: one thing that might be natural/obvious to you will not be the case for all. That is why I think the game would be better if you had indicators that you can push certain objects, etc. Even if it's just an outliner/highlighter -could be very subtle

A little bit hand-holding can be good, just don't hold their hands all the way through ;)

This is such a charming and adorable game. However the movement especially jumping felt a bit off, could do with some jump buffering and coyote time. But overall very cute and solidly fun game. Great Job!

Developer

I will try to add that in the next update, thanks for the commen

Submitted(+1)

This was fun, but I think having the jump a bit slower and the camera a bit more zoomed out would have helped with platforming. Either way, it was a short fun game!

Developer

Thanks, I'll try to improve it in the next update

Submitted(+1)

Very fun, but felt unrealistic due to the high jump height.

Developer

yeah I guess thats true

I loved the animations! Was a fun game to play :)

Developer(+1)

thanks!

Really like its art and level design, and the vibe that it gives.

If it comes to feedback, you could have made cayote time.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to implement it in the game

Submitted(+2)

Loved the art style and the concept! You really nailed the theme! I feel like the jump is fast so it makes it harder to control. Great job though!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

The fast jump is supposed to simulate real physics, where you fall faster relative to the camera if your size is smaller. Think about it this way: you experience more weight on Jupiter because you are way smaller than it compared to you and earth, the player, because they are smaller, experiences more weight on earth
