Love the style!
AMAZING gameplay is so smooth, and the idea is incredibly unique. Loved the last segment especially.
Thank youuuuuu
I LOVE THIS GAME i love the low poly artstyle and the movement is so so fluid this is a 6 star game. Im always a little suspicious about the quality of platforming in a game jam but its done so well and I never feel cheated out of any jumps. however during some tight platforming, the camera was a bit of a bother, i wish it had a zoom feature. im a little bummed i didnt get to see which name was the composer or even the other works for the game, they definitely deserve the spot :)
thanks so much! as for your questions, the theme was composed by both me and flooferdoodle (Felix), our artist/animator was Aidan (Aidanpkln) :)
THANKS SO MUCH!
Shout out to Lyndrinn Yao (L Yao) and Felix Zhu (flooferdoodle) who worked together on our music track AND who both also did a ton of programming and level design! If you want to hear a little more, here's Lyndrinn's earlier, longer version of the track: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JoQhCkc_O5W8ig4zQkfJpVLq7a-xfx12/view?usp=drive...
absolutely loved it staccoon/10
Very cool concept! Well done as well! Music and graphic are amazing! I struggled with the camera but besides that, It a great concept!
Thanks so much! Believe me, we struggled with the camera too--the stack is too tall 😅
This was a really great puzzle platformer game! I do think it's a bit funny that, since it's open world, you can ignore some of the button puzzles, but if anything, that's kinda the joy of an open world game, doing what you want. Also, the staccoons are absolutely adorable. Probably the only issue is that the camera can be a little distant at some points, making it a bit hard to see.
Thank you so much! My favorite part is going to Staccoon Island and then jumping back to the main area and "cheating" my way up the skyscraper!
Very cute and creative game! I loved how the number of jumps you have is represented by the number of staccoons you have stacked. My only real grip was that the camera was a little too zoomed out. I feel like it might have been better to add a way to zoom it in and out. I also found it annoying how you can accidentally jump into a trash can over and over and have the sound effect play over and over. I really like this concept though! This concept could easily be made into a full fledged game if given some more polish and time.
Glad you liked it! If we made a full fledged version is there anything you'd like to see us add 👀
Tighter feeling controls probably
Fuckin' inspired! Really creative use of a simple core mechanic, y'all did a great job compounding upon lessons players could learn in earlier segments in later parts of the levels. I discovered lots of little strats for movement and puzzle solving, and it all felt very intuitive. The art is also lovely, I adore the mixed 2D and 3D! My only real pain point was the camera, it felt waaay to fast to me, and contoling it via the mouse while navigating the the keys felt...less than ideal. Still, a very well polished and thought out title, good work yall!
Thank you!!! I'm all about having players learn things and apply what they've learned to new situations! If you like that kind of thing, I highly recommend checking out the other game on my page https://jrschappert.itch.io/the-adventures-of-radish-boy-2 which was made by a lot of the same people for GMTK 2023! Sorry about the camera hahaha cameras are hard 😅
Extremely cute little game, the first I tried from the submissions, but actually raised the bar high. Nice job :)
I find the game very entertaining but the camera adjusting was in some situations a bit challenging. The first thing that popped on my mind when seeing your game was the spinning Pedro raccoon. :)
omg that’s such a cute idea! Very fun. It reminds me of a game called A Short Hike
A Short Hike was one of our inspirations! thanks for the comment :)
nice game design
I would die for staccoons ngl
fun for the whole family
Wow, really impressive work for a game jam. Well done art and mapping, and great idea. Plus raccoons
OMGGG RACCOONS ARE SO COOL
Great game, reminded me of a shorthike smh. Loved reading those news articles. Andddd thinking about what type of staccoon i'd be, i'd say bottom
Thank you! A Short Hike was one of our inspirations for the core gameplay loop :)
Awesome game. I played all the way to the credits. Very unique and fun mechanics. Also an interesting approach to the camera controls. I'm still not sure how I feel about that part, but it does make sense for this game.
It makes me so happy that you played to the credits 😊
Which section was your favorite??
Love your concept and implementation of it! Matches the game theme perfectly, plus who doesn't love trash pandas??
Thanks so much! These trash pandas are "built to scale"
game is really fun. i threw all the raccons in the water at the end and got the island for myself.
only issue is the camera is really uncomfortable to use
The narration in the introduction is very perverted 10/10.
Raccoons cute, I want a stack!
